Chapter 145 - One Hundred and Forty Four: The Fall of Dawn

Silence followed her disappearance.

Not ordinary silence.

The kind that comes after losing something the soul cannot replace.

Luke stood motionless in Lucien's arms as the final fragments of Celestia's golden light drifted through the Heart Chamber like fading stars.

Gone. But this time… truly gone.

The Heart of Creation pulsed softly behind them, almost mournfully, while the sanctuary trembled beneath the continuing assault outside.

But Luke barely heard any of it.

His glowing eyes stared at the empty space where his mother had stood moments ago.

"Mum…" The word came out small and broken.

Lucien tightened his hold around him instinctively, though his own chest felt hollow enough to collapse.

For years he had grieved her death.

Hated the world for taking her.

Drowned himself in anger and solitude because the pain had been unbearable.

And now… fate had allowed him to see her again only to tear her away a second time.

The cruelty of it nearly shattered him completely.

The Spirit Guide lowered its massive head solemnly while the Heart Chamber dimmed slightly in mourning.

Even the ancient Sentinels outside had fallen silent.

The sanctuary itself grieved Celestia.

Then Vaelthoros roared.

The sound ripped violently through the collapsing sanctuary, shaking everyone back to reality.

Primordial corruption exploded through the chamber entrance as the massive claw holding onto the broken doorway forced itself deeper inside.

The Primordial had felt the stabilization.

And now it was afraid.

Thousands of hollow eyes locked onto Luke immediately.

"THE HEIR HAS AWAKENED."

Darkness spread across the chamber floor like living death, consuming crystal and light wherever it touched. The Heart of Creation brightened defensively while golden currents spiraled violently around Luke instinctively.

But something had changed now.

Luke could feel it immediately.

The Balance no longer felt wild inside him.

It moved naturally now. Like breathing. Like heartbeat.

Celestia's final gift had stabilized the awakening completely.

Yet the pain inside his chest remained unbearable.

Lucien slowly stood while holding his son protectively behind him. Infernal flames erupted violently around the King of Hell as grief transformed instantly into a very pure fury.

The sanctuary trembled beneath the pressure of his rage.

"You..." Lucien whispered darkly.

Vaelthoros laughed,a horrifying sound made from collapsing realities and endless hunger.

"YOU CANNOT STOP THE RETURN OF CHAOS."

Lucien's eyes burned crimson and replied back "No."

Infernal fire exploded across the chamber violently enough to crack the crystal walls apart.

"But I can make you suffer for touching my family."

Then Lucien attacked.

The clash shook the entire sanctuary.

Lucien moved like living destruction, infernal flames crashing against primordial darkness in catastrophic waves. His sword tore through corrupted space itself while Vaelthoros answered with claws capable of shattering laws.

The chamber collapsed around them.

The Spirit Guide roared and joined the battle immediately, ancient silver fire slamming against the Primordial's massive form while Dawn Sentinels charged from every direction.

But Vaelthoros was still overwhelming.

Every wound healed instantly beneath swirling primordial chaos. Every attack only slowed it briefly.

And still… it kept moving toward the Heart. Toward Luke.

Luke stood frozen near the Heart Chamber center, trembling.

Not from fear anymore.

From grief that his mother was gone again.

And this time, there would be no more visions. No more embraces. No more chances. Only memory remained.

The Heart pulsed gently behind him.

Warm. Comforting.

Almost like it was trying to soothe him.

Luke slowly touched his chest where Celestia's light had merged into him.

Then suddenly... he felt her.

Not her voice. Not her image. But warmth.

A small lingering piece of love resting quietly within the Balance itself.

Luke closed his eyes shakily.

And finally understood.

His mother had not vanished in fear.

She chose this.

She chose him.

Again.

Just like she had the day she gave birth to him.

The realization steadied something deep inside his heart.

Slowly…

Luke opened his glowing eyes.

Golden light spread across the chamber instantly.

The Heart responded.

Vaelthoros noticed immediately.

Its countless eyes narrowed.

"DAWNBLOOD…"

Luke stepped forward.

This time… calmly.

The Balance around him moved beautifully now, golden threads spiraling through the chamber like living constellations. His aura no longer exploded chaotically.

It flowed. Controlled. Ancient. Pure.

Lucien noticed instantly midbattle.

"Luke?"

The boy looked toward his father briefly.

And Lucien froze.

Because despite the tears still lingering in Luke's eyes…

there was strength there now too.

Not the strength of power.

The strength of understanding loss… and still choosing to protect others anyway.

Luke looked back toward Vaelthoros slowly.

"You're wrong," he said quietly.

The Primordial growled.

Golden light spread outward from Luke's feet across the chamber floor. Everywhere it touched, primordial corruption began retreating instantly.

"Chaos isn't stronger than Balance."

The Heart pulsed powerfully behind him.

Luke's voice remained calm despite the destruction surrounding them.

"Because Balance exists for everyone."

Vaelthoros roared and lunged toward him violently.

But this time, Luke raised his hand.

And the Primordial stopped.

Not physically.

Reality itself halted its movement.

Golden threads wrapped around Vaelthoros like chains made from creation's laws while the entire sanctuary illuminated beneath the reborn power of Balance.

For the first time since the ancient wars…

a Primordial had been restrained.

Vaelthoros screamed in fury as the Balance forced the corruption backward.

The Dawn Sentinels stared in awe.

The Spirit Guide froze completely.

Even Lucien looked stunned.

Luke stood at the center of the chamber glowing like dawn itself beneath the endless golden light.

Not a frightened child anymore.

But not yet a god either.

Something entirely new.

And far beyond the sanctuary…

across Heaven, Hell, and every realm in existence…

ancient beings looked toward the skies in shock.

Because the Balance had returned.

And this time…

it had a name.
