"I'm bored…"
A boy around the age of six murmured silently to himself.
He lay on his black-brownish bed. Rumpled sheets covered his body in a messy manner. He scoots to face the sunlight, staring lazily at the dim morning sun. The room was a disaster, books were opened, some closed, some read, some unfinished, and some finished.
In his anguish, a familiar thought crossed his mind. A very familiar memory.
In it, he was held tightly, gently, warmly in the hands of a woman with long black hair whom emitted a warm sensation as she cuddled his little weak body. In the distance, a man stood with his back on the wall. The man gave a warm distant smile at the corner of the room, eyes downed, hair was plain white and he was in his teen years; but his spirit was weak
"…arrghh" the lad groaned loudly, in the most sluggish way possible. He crept to the closest light source.
He finds himself at the room's window, observing the morning in pure delight and hidden regret.
He noticed a horse drawn carriage which stopped by the entrance of the house. Three black horses with striking similarities held the rear.
"Tchh…who the hell writes a book without an ENDING?!"
He lamented, his back kissing the ground roughly.
He faced the ceiling with bored eyes, "… this house still feels unnatural…"
The boy gives a long pause.
"...tchh... Better ask Cloud, he knows everything." The kid got up slowly, growling painfully at each turn.
Before exiting the room, he said to himself. "And here I thought, I could get an answer. What exactly is Elro?"
Moonlight is a kid with some problems. Over the past year, he indulged himself in reading because he was bored. Fortunately, the Adna house had an expansive library filled with lots and lots of information that it seemed endless.
Using that to buy time, Moonlight grew to what one would call a bookworm. Overtime, he gained the qualities of a born introvert. He doesn't speak to anyone, spends his entire life alone and prefers quietness over noise. The only two souls he has ever spoken to are his older brother, Cloud and his maid, Febia.
Last night, right around evening, the halfmoon was prepared to take it's place for the approaching night. It's light fell on all below and Moonlight was no exception.
Moonlight walked through the halls of the house gunning for his usual place, his footsteps hitting the ground at each step.
He opens a door, he inhales deeply, " Ah,that good quiet air."
He views the area with eyes of anticipation; not of mystery. Books, ladders and a source of light he has no idea what created it.
The room was vast indeed. He walked through the humongous shelves filled with books and ladders for height.
Moonlight moves to the far end of the room pointing and saying, "Done with this section. And this one and this one…"
His eyes turned left, right, and through the maze of this expansive library.
"Oh, I haven't read this one" he stops at a book hidden in-between its mates. "I'm sure Cloud has not read this one." Moonlight picks up a book. It was titled, 'What is Elro? With the author named Egnah.
However, after a good ten minutes, "No, NO, NO, NOoooooohhhhh!!!" He flips pages over and over but all were blank. "Where's the continuation" He continues.
And that brings us to now, the present.
"HAHAAH" a boy gave a healthy laugh.
"Stop laughing." Moonlight complains, but hides his embarrassment.
The boy continued the laugh. "You really did read it! Did you ever wonder who hid it between the books? Ha. You caused it yourself didn't you?"
Moonlight stayed quiet.
"Besides, now that you have read it…" the boy composes himself, now he says in a serious tone. "Your body is asking for an answer, right?"
Moonlight nods.
"Thought so…"
"Cloud"
"Yes, my dear brother." Cloud answers in a fashioned tone.
"Do you know what Elro is?"
Cloud heaves, biting his thumb finger nails. He directs his eyes to and away from Moonlight. "I may know or may not…"
"Please if you know, tell me. It has been boggling my mind since yesterday. I had a headache trying to figure out what it was. Curse that Egnah. Who the hell writes a story without an ending?" Moonlight rants. "I've noticed the term Elro in like most of the books I read. It is always connected to something important in the story. Heroes, detectives, magic. Elro is always connected…"
"Calm down. Sheesh. I know who to tell." Pressing Moonlight shoulders as he explains at a fast rate.
"You do?" a sense of relief filled the boy.
"Yes. You can ask Great Uncle, he knows literally anything." Cloud offers.
"Great Uncle, hmmm…" Moonlight ponders. "Are you sure? He's not always around and besides, I saw some visitors this morning. Maybe he's busy?"
"Visitors?" asks Cloud.
"Yeh, I saw them this morning during my demise."
Cloud whispers to himself, "I've been wondering why today feels warm maybe it's them"
"What did you say?"
"Oh nothing!" he replied.
Cloud looked of eight, just two years older than Moonlight. He wore a red top that stopped at his elbow, a black-fitted trouser and a black sandal. The wind blew his cloth little.
"Moonlight…Cloud!"
A voice called from the distance, a lady wearing an outfit made for maids. She waved at them. Her black-white striped hair obeyed the wind, flowing beautifully through the grasslands.
"It seems it's time for breakfast. Are you eating with us or not?" Cloud says, facing Moonlight.
Moonlight gave a few thought, "I have nothing else to do. I will eat with you guys. Besides, Great Uncle might even be there." Moonlight stands up and dusts his butt.
"Stop kidding. Let's go."
