Retail Worker – Chapter 14

Who's the Villain?

It was a quiet day at Pick Your Product. The staff peacefully carried out their duties, and the

store was unusually calm.

Suddenly, Sharon's voice echoed through the aisles.

"I've had enough of this man! Mr. Adams is heartless. One of our staff members is sick, yet he

refuses to let her go home. I won't rest until he leaves this store."

A familiar voice answered from behind her.

"Yeah, let's get rid of him."

Sharon turned around in surprise.

"Marcus?"

Marcus nodded, his expression filled with bitterness.

"I'm finally back to get revenge on Mr. Adams for firing me. Thanks to him, I'm still unemployed.

Mr. Adams must leave this store today."

Just then, Gammie arrived after hearing the commotion. His eyes widened as he noticed the

knife in Marcus's hand.

"Security!" Gammie shouted.

"No!" Sharon quickly interrupted. "Gammie, don't do anything."

She slowly approached Marcus, keeping her voice calm.

"Marcus... please put the knife down. Let's go speak to Mr. Adams instead. I don't want you to

end up in prison. You have a beautiful little girl waiting for you. I want Mr. Adams out of this store

too, but I don't want him dead. Please... let's talk this through."

Marcus looked at Sharon for a long moment before finally lowering the knife.

Sharon led him toward the manager's office.

As they approached, Mr. Adams looked up in surprise. Soon, employees from every department

began gathering outside the office, curious to see what was happening.

A tense silence filled the room.

Finally, Gammie spoke.

"Sharon is the villain. She's obsessed with getting rid of Mr. Adams. He may have his flaws, but

deep down he's a good person."

Isha immediately disagreed.

"That man has no good in him. Mr. Adams is the villain. You're not allowed to get sick. Your

family isn't allowed to get sick. All he cares about is himself. Sharon is right—he should leave."

Lance folded his arms.

"No. Sharon is the villain. I don't trust that woman. She pretends to defend us against Mr.

Adams, but once you're in that office, you're completely on your own. She leaves you for the

wolves. She's only doing this for selfish reasons. She doesn't truly care about the staff."

The employees of Pick Your Product began arguing among themselves.

Then Bree stepped forward.

"Marcus is the real villain. He looks like he's about to stab both of them. After all, they both

wronged him. Sharon didn't defend him, and Mr. Adams fired him. Two birds with one stone."

Before anyone could react, security rushed into the office.

They quickly surrounded Marcus, disarmed him, and placed him in handcuffs before he could

commit a crime.Customers and employees watched in shock as the police were called.

When the officers arrived, Marcus looked at everyone one last time before they escorted him

away.

"I'm going to get out of prison one day," he said coldly. "I won't be there forever."

His eyes shifted toward Sharon and Mr. Adams.

"And you two... don't think we don't know what's really going on. Stop pretending."

He paused before continuing.

"Always watch your back. Be careful how you treat people. I'm not the first employee you've

hurt, and I certainly won't be the last. There are others in this store who feel exactly the way I

do."

As Marcus was led through the crowd, he suddenly stopped in front of me.

He leaned closer.

"And Layla..."

My heart skipped a beat.

"The main villain in this story is Lance."

I stared at him in confusion.

"He's obsessed with you. He's been looking for ways to get close to you. Be careful around that

guy..."

Marcus lowered his voice.

"He's a psycho."

For a moment, I stood frozen.

I looked at Marcus, then slowly turned to Lance before looking back again.

A wave of shock washed over me.

I was left completely speechless... yet deeply suspicious.
