Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: Advice from the Driver Knight

Tatsumaki's pupils suddenly constricted, and her green curly hair unconsciously floated around: "This is too absurd!"

Allen's fingers slid across the tablet, his brows furrowing deeper: "Not only that, there's something even more outrageous."

He pointed to one of the documents: "This executive even used the opportunity of Heroes going on missions to secretly sell their combat data."

Child Emperor pushed up his glasses, a seriousness beyond his age on his youthful face: "The most terrifying thing is that they've already started cultivating their own private Heroes."

Tatsumaki's Psychokinesis erupted uncontrollably, sending documents scattering across the conference room: "These bastards!"

Her voice trembled slightly with anger: "What do they take Heroes for? I'm going to confront them right now!"

Allen quickly held Tatsumaki's shoulder: "Calm down, getting angry now won't solve the problem."

Allen originally thought he was radical enough, but he didn't expect Tatsumaki to be even more headstrong than him, ready to directly confront the entire Hero Association without any preparation.

Child Emperor looked at the two increasingly radical individuals and began to doubt if he had found the wrong people.

He pushed up his glasses, a hint of hesitation flashing across his youthful face: "Perhaps we should plan this out carefully."

"Plan it out carefully?" Tatsumaki's green curly hair floated violently, and her small hand gripped Allen's sleeve tightly: "The evidence is right in front of us, what are we waiting for?"

Allen gently patted Tatsumaki's hand, signaling her to calm down: "Child Emperor is right, acting rashly will only alert them. Moreover, after we remove all these executives, someone will still be needed to manage things, otherwise the entire Hero Association will fall into chaos."

He turned to Child Emperor, his voice low: "But since you've collected so much evidence, I presume you also have a plan?"

Child Emperor nodded, taking out another document from his backpack: "I suggest we start from the periphery, gradually weakening the power base of these parasites and progressively replacing personnel in key positions."

Tatsumaki floated beside Child Emperor, her green eyes quickly scanning the document's contents: "Hmph, the kid actually thought this through quite thoroughly."

The conference room door suddenly knocked, startling all three. Chairman Sitch's voice came from outside: "Child Emperor? Are you in there? The meeting is about to start again, there's only one last item on the agenda, and then this meeting can conclude."

Child Emperor quickly put away the tablet: "Coming right away!" He lowered his voice and said to the two.

"Only the three of us know about this, absolutely do not tell anyone."

Tatsumaki snorted: "You don't need to remind me, you should be careful too."

"Let's go, Rookie."

When they returned to the main conference room, the atmosphere was clearly off.

Zenil had personally rushed over. He stood in front of the projector, a fake smile on his face: "Everyone, considering the frequent Monster activity recently, I propose forming a special task force, which I will personally oversee."

Metal Bat slammed the table: "What a joke! Since when did Heroes need you to command them?"

Zenil calmly displayed a document: "This is a resolution from the Hero Association's board of directors. The special task force will be entirely under my responsibility, reporting directly to the board."

Allen narrowed his eyes, noticing a few signatures in the corner of the document: "Interesting, they're acting so quickly."

Are they trying to quickly recruit S-Class Heroes into their own team while he is still active?

Tatsumaki floated next to Allen, whispering: "They're trying to usurp the power of the S-Class Heroes."

Child Emperor's expression became unusually grave: "Faster than I expected. It seems Mr. Allen's actions have stimulated these parasites."

Chairman Sitch wiped the sweat from his forehead: "What do you Heroes think?"

Zenil smiled as he surveyed the room: "Of course, we welcome all Heroes to join, especially—"

His gaze fell on Allen: "—a promising young Hero like Mr. Allen."

The conference room instantly fell silent, and everyone's eyes focused on Allen.

Tatsumaki's green curly hair bristled: "What do you mean?"

Zenil feigned surprise: "Miss Tatsumaki, please don't misunderstand. I simply admire Mr. Allen's abilities."

He turned to Allen: "The position of Vice Captain of the special task force, I wonder if Mr. Allen is interested?"

Allen suddenly laughed: "Zenil, is the board of directors behind you trying to recruit me?"

"Just appreciating talent," Zenil said insincerely.

"With Mr. Allen's abilities, staying in a regular S-Class position is too much of a waste."

Metal Bat suddenly stood up: "Hey! Rookie! Don't listen to his nonsense!"

Bang stroked his beard, a hint of worry flashing in his aged eyes: "Allen, think twice."

Tatsumaki's green hair began to fluctuate unstably; she stared intently at Allen, awaiting his reply.

Allen slowly stood up, surveying the room: "Thank you for your kind offer, Mr. Zenil."

His voice was very calm: "However, I have a particular quirk."

He looked directly into Zenil's eyes: "I hate being used as a pawn the most."

A burst of laughter instantly erupted in the conference room; Metal Bat even whistled.

Zenil's face turned ashen: "Mr. Allen, please watch your words!"

Allen shrugged: "I'm just speaking the truth. Everyone."

He turned to the other S-Class Heroes: "Are you really willing to be commanded by a bunch of amateurs?"

Chairman Sitch quickly tried to smooth things over: "Everyone, calm down! This proposal still needs further discussion."

Drive Knight suddenly spoke: "I will join the special task force. The Hero Association's intelligence is simply too scarce, and I need Heroes to gather intelligence with me." His mechanical voice echoed in the conference room.

Metal Bat slammed the table: "Hey! When did you become so proactive?"

Zombieman lit a cigarette, narrowing his eyes through the swirling smoke: "Interesting, it seems someone can't sit still."

Flashy Flash leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, his golden long hair swaying slightly: "Boring tricks."

King sat in the corner, his Emperor Engine emitting a low rumble, and although his face was expressionless, fine beads of sweat were already forming on his forehead.

Pig God continued to stuff snacks into his mouth, saying indistinctly: "Mmm, sounds good."

Superalloy Darkshine touched his shiny bald head: "Intelligence is indeed important, but why form a team?"

Child Emperor pushed up his glasses, a hint of wariness flashing across his youthful face: "Mr. Drive Knight, could you elaborate on your plan?"

Bang stroked his beard, his gaze sweeping back and forth between Drive Knight and Zenil: "This old man believes that intelligence gathering is inherently the Association's duty, why do S-Class Heroes need to form a team?"
