At a roadside motel, a tactical vehicle is parked in front of it.

Inside the abandoned motel, Akira and Saeko were busy checking to see if there were any zombies or humans hiding or surviving inside.

With a spatial scanning ability capable of detecting up to 50 meters, Akira quickly completed his search of the three-story motel.

During the process, he stowed away any items he deemed useful.

"The third floor is clear. No zombies found, and no signs of humans," Saeko said to Akira, who was standing beside her.

"This is strange. We should have found some clues about humans here, as the motel is in relatively good condition.

And in the storage room and rooms in this building, we found a large amount of goods and packaged food.

So it doesn't make sense that no humans were found here!!" Sensing something was amiss, Akira told Sakeo what she was thinking.

"Hmm... if you think about it carefully, that makes perfect sense, so what could have happened?" Saeko asked again.

"I think we can only find the answer once we get out of this town," Akira replied.

"Then, let's continue our journey and get out of here quickly," Saeko suggested.

"Okay," Akira agreed with Saeko's suggestion. Feeling unanswered, Akira decided to leave.

As soon as they arrived in the car, they were greeted by Shizuka, who was in charge of monitoring the motel's exterior from inside.

"How did your search go? Did you find anything unusual?" Shizuka asked.

"Yes, Akira said there was plenty of food found in this motel, but there were no signs of humans, and neither were there any zombies," Saeko replied, answering Shizuka's question.

"Wow, how could that be? This really doesn't make sense," Shizuka replied.

"It really doesn't make sense, and I have a feeling this isn't good, so we should get out of this town quickly," Akira replied, starting the car and speeding away, heading out of the city.

Overwhelmed with anxiety, Akira, who was driving, unconsciously accelerated.

It was as if he didn't want to stay in the city for too long.

This premonition was something Akira firmly believed in, having had the same feeling several times.

They had always managed to escape life-threatening situations.

When he stopped at the motel again, the same feeling grew stronger.

Akira was even more convinced that something was wrong with the city, or rather, something major had happened there that caused both humans and zombies, whom they should have been able to find, to become so rare.

"What do you think could have caused the humans and zombies to disappear so suddenly?" Saeko asked, then returned to the topic.

"From the experiences we've had during this journey, there are several possibilities.

First, the city has likely been taken over by a human force that allows it to control both zombies and humans.

This has, to a certain extent, made the city's environment habitable again.

Second, there's the possibility that a high-level zombie has taken over the city and is causing the zombies in the city to gather around it.

As for the humans who should have stayed and survived in the city, they've likely died or fled far away to avoid anything bad happening to them." Shizuka's answer helped provide an explanation for their current situation.

"So, of these two possibilities, which one is closest to the situation we're currently facing?" Saeko asked again about the possibilities they were currently facing.

"I prefer to face the humans, because it's enough to tell them our abilities, and they'll consciously consider the consequences of facing us directly.

As for the worst-case scenario, if we have to face a high-level zombie, as long as we know… If you know its capabilities, it's not a problem.

However, if you don't know the exact capabilities of a high-level zombie, it's highly inadvisable to confront it directly. If possible, you should avoid it. Akira answered Saeko's question.

Although Akira possessed some skills and had successfully captured 10 low-level demon-level zombies, he was still unable to feel secure.

However, the limited range of only about 50 meters limited his ability to feel secure.

After all, he also had Shizuka and Saeko to protect.

Akira feared that while he was busy dealing with the zombies, a human nearby might take advantage of the situation.

This would be detrimental to his own interests. So, Akira adopted an approach of gradually leveling up. Once his level reached a high enough level, his range would expand significantly.

From there, he could openly act more boldly.

After all, his body still couldn't stop a bullet fired from a rifle.

So, it was always better to play it safe for the future.

After driving for more than half an hour from the motel they had last visited, Akira was heading out of town.

He was faced with an unusual sight. On the road leading out of town.

"Looks like we can't just leave this town!" Saeko said as she saw the barricade set up in front of them.

About 100 meters from their car, the road connects the town to the outside world.

It was currently blocked by numerous rocks and abandoned cars.

Seeing this, Akira became increasingly aware that his premonition had been proven correct.

"Who's blocking this road? Is it humans or zombies?" Shizuka also spoke up.

"We have to keep going this way. I'll clear it with my space. We can't waste any more time. I'm feeling increasingly unsafe!!" Akira made up his mind and told the two of them what he was going to do.

"Saeko, watch the left and right sides of the road, while Shizuka, watch the rear of the car.

Let me know if anything suspicious appears!!" Gripping the steering wheel, Akira began to climb over the barricade of cars in front of him.
