Asgard, the Realm of the Gods.
On the day of Thor's coronation, Frost Giants infiltrated Asgard's vault through a secret passage, seeking to reclaim their sacred relic, the Casket of Ancient Winters.
The Casket of Ancient Winters was originally a holy artifact of the Frost Giants of Jotunheim. It could unleash infinite cold, possessing enough power to flash-freeze an entire planet.
Thousands of years ago, after the Greek Gods on Earth fell, the Frost Giants and the Aesir of Asgard waged war over territory. The Frost Giants were defeated, and the Casket of Ancient Winters became a trophy of war for Odin, the All-Father.
Now, the Frost Giants attempted to steal the Casket back, but they triggered a security mechanism and were annihilated by the Destroyer Armor.
Though Asgard suffered no losses, Thor, who had just been crowned, felt that Asgard had been provoked.
Fueled by Loki's instigation, Thor rashly led Loki, his fiancée Sif, and the Warriors Three through the Bifrost to the Frost Giant realm of Jotunheim.
Thor was already 1,500 years old, but he was still a reckless fool who thought he could prove his strength by defeating King Laufey of the Frost Giants single-handedly.
As a result, he was nearly beaten to death by the Frost Giants.
Fortunately, King Odin arrived just in time on his Pegasus to rescue them, bringing the 1,500-year-old brat and the other Asgardian warriors safely back to the divine realm.
"Father, why did you bring us back? We should have wiped out those damned Frost Giants together!" Thor demanded as they were transported back to Asgard via the Bifrost.
"Do you even know what you were doing?" Odin's anger flared as he saw that Thor still showed no remorse.
Thor retorted defiantly, "I was protecting Asgard!"
"You couldn't even protect your own friends, let alone Asgard!" Odin's face darkened.
"If we don't dare to fight, Asgard will eventually fall! I'll show those Frost Giants who I am and teach them a lesson!"
Thor was "young and impetuous," believing that force was the only solution to every problem.
In this regard, he was exactly like the young Odin.
But Odin had grown old. As someone who had learned from his own past mistakes, he was no longer blindly arrogant and had no desire to provoke another war. He roared, "You are merely arrogant, not wise like a leader. I told you to wait patiently, but you seem to have forgotten everything."
"You have plenty of patience, but the Nine Realms are all laughing at us! Your old ways don't work anymore. Your preaching can't protect Asgard!" Thor's voice grew more impassioned with every word.
Beside them, Loki nearly applauded.
Odin, infuriated by his "filial" son, bellowed, "You are too reckless, too warlike! You are completely unfit to be the King of Asgard!"
But Thor refused to understand his father's well-meaning frustration. He retorted, "You're just a cowardly old fool, yet you can be King. Why can't I?"
Odin nearly suffered a heart attack from anger. His eyes filled with disappointment as he sighed, "Yes, I was indeed a fool. I thought you had matured enough to become the King of Asgard. Thor Odinson, your actions have endangered the security of Asgard. Because of your arrogance and stupidity, you... you are simply not worthy of being the King of Asgard! You are not worthy!"
"Now, in the name of my father and my ancestors, I strip you of your divine power. I banish you from Asgard."
Odin raised his hand, and Mjolnir flew from Thor's grasp into his own.
Thor finally realized the gravity of the situation, but it was too late.
As Odin finished his incantation, the divine power within Thor's body rapidly dissipated.
Immediately after, the now-powerless Thor was struck by a bolt of lightning, sending him tumbling into the spatial rift created by the Bifrost.
"Whoever is worthy to lift Mjolnir shall wield the power of Thor."
Odin cast a binding spell on the hammer before hurling it into the rift after his son.
Loki tried to chime in with a comment, only to be shut down by Odin's furious glare.
Heimdall spoke up: "Midgard is undergoing great turmoil. There are places even I cannot see. Thor may be in danger once he arrives."
"Thor is too much like me, yet he lacks experience. I hope this trial teaches him how to truly become a king!"
Odin was well aware of the dangers on Earth; otherwise, the Norse gods would never have migrated from it to establish their current home in Asgard.
But a jade stone must be carved and polished to become a precious vessel. His own time was running short.

New Mexico, USA.
In the dead of night, a streak of light tore across the sky, falling like a meteor.
A thunderous *boom* echoed, followed by a blinding flash of lightning. Then, all returned to silence.
A massive crater had been blasted into the sandy earth—resembling a meteor impact site, yet distinct in its nature.
At the center of the crater lay the artifact Odin had cast down: Mjolnir.
The hammer's head was a gray, rectangular block inscribed with magical runes, its design both heavy and ornate. It featured a short, round handle wrapped in brown leather, with a circular strap dangling from its end.
Forged by King Eitri of the Dwarves from Uru—a metal unique to the realm of Asgard—Mjolnir could channel magical incantations and contain immense energy. It could summon the four natural elements: wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. When spun, it could even carry its wielder through the skies.
With the secret spell Odin had placed upon it, whoever could lift Mjolnir would be granted the Power of Thor.
It was, without question, a divine artifact of unparalleled power.
The appearance of Mjolnir did not go unnoticed by certain Americans.
At first, they had no idea what was going on and assumed it was a meteorite. A few brave Americans drove to the scene.
By the next day, a crowd had gathered. Many people surrounded Mjolnir, trying to lift it.
But no matter how hard they pulled—even trying to drag it away with their cars—it wouldn't budge.
Soon, a black Mercedes pulled up, and two men in black suits stepped out.
"Seal off the area," Coulson ordered his assistant.
"Yes, sir," the agent replied, immediately making a call. He stood behind Coulson, clad in a black suit and sunglasses.
Coulson then strode toward Mjolnir.
Seeing another challenger, the crowd erupted.
"I bet he can't lift it! Twenty-to-one odds if he does! Only 0.1-to-one if he can't! Place your bets!"
"I bet he can't!"
"I bet he can!"
***
Most people had bet that he wouldn't be able to lift it, though a few still placed their bets on him being able to.
Fortune favors the bold.
"Hey, buddy, you can do it!"
"Hahaha, there's no way he can lift it. I'll bet a hundred dollars!"
"By the way, this hammer is really something. It fell from the sky—do you think it's an alien weapon?"
"Aliens using hammers? You're hilarious."
...
Ignoring the chatter around him, Coulson approached Mjolnir and examined it with curiosity.
The sandy ground beneath the hammer had partially crystallized, appearing fragile. The hammerhead rested on a sandy mound about a foot higher than the surrounding flat surface.
Staring at the hammer on the sand, Coulson felt a sudden impulse. He gripped the handle of Mjolnir and slowly applied pressure, attempting to pull it upward.
Yet Mjolnir remained completely immovable. Even with all his strength, Coulson couldn't budge it an inch.
He let go and then kicked the sand pile. But the once-loose sand seemed solidified by an invisible force. His kick felt like striking a steel plate; not a single grain of sand shifted.
The surrounding crowd let out a collective sigh of derision.
Coulson ignored them, his curiosity about the hammer's origins only growing.
*This is clearly a supernatural event.*
Soon, S.H.I.E.L.D. personnel arrived, dispersing the crowd and sealing off the area around Mjolnir. A team of experts then arrived with various instruments to study the hammer, attempting to uncover its secrets.
Han Shaoqing received the inside information from Hydra immediately.
*So, the plot of Thor 1 has begun.*
Mjolnir itself held no attraction for Han Shaoqing, but he had long been eager to visit Asgard.
