Everything happened too fast, too unexpectedly, like a bolt from the blue.
One second, Amycus Carrow was still putting on the arrogant airs of a "senior," and the next, he was curled up on the ground like a pile of rotten meat, letting out inhuman wails.
The cruel torture of the Cruciatus Curse completely stripped away his ability to resist or even think.
This sudden upheaval instantly erased the arrogance from Alecto Carrow's face, replacing it with sheer terror.
He glanced at his brother writhing in agony on the ground and subconsciously raised his wand, attempting to fight back—
But would Lynn give her that chance?
The answer was obvious: no.
At the exact moment a flicker of light appeared at the tip of Alecto's wand, Lynn flicked the hand holding his wand.
An almost inaudible sharp sound sliced through the air, while the power of the Undying Curse silently attached itself to the Sectumsempra curse.
An invisible blade swept past at a speed the naked eye simply could not catch.
"Puchi—"
Alecto only felt a brief sense of dislocation in his left shoulder, followed immediately by an explosion of pain.
His entire left arm, still clutching his wand, was severed cleanly from the shoulder joint. It traced a parabola through the air before landing on the grass several steps away with a dull "thud." His fingers still maintained their grip on the wand, twitching twice before going still.
Blood gushed from the severed shoulder like a burst dam, instantly staining half his body and the ground beneath his feet red.
"Ah—!!!"
A shrill scream burst from Alecto's throat, far more piercing than his brother's wails, filled with terror that reached his very marrow.
The dizziness caused by the intense pain and blood loss nearly knocked his unconscious, but what truly shattered his was the absolute disparity in power. The other party was treating him like an insect.
Resist? The thought had barely formed before it was extinguished by the heart-rending pain from his severed arm and the looming shadow of death.
Realizing the situation was completely hopeless, the last trace of ferocity in Alecto's heart vanished instantly. His desire to survive overwhelmed everything else.
Enduring the agonizing pain from the stump and the waves of dizziness caused by blood loss, she suddenly lunged forward.
"Thud!"
He dropped heavily to his knees in Lynn's direction.
Immediately afterward, she began kowtowing frantically, his forehead slamming against the ground with muffled "thud-thud" sounds. After only a few hits, it was already covered in mud and grass clippings, mixed with the blood flowing from her wound, making him look incomparably miserable.
"Spare... spare me! My Lord! Spare my life! I was wrong! We were wrong! We were blind! I beg you... I beg you to let me go! I'm willing to do anything! Give everything! Just please let me live!"
To be honest, Lynn was momentarily stunned by how decisively and shamelessly he knelt and begged for mercy.
"Tsk~"
Lynn clicked his tongue and shook his head, his tone filled with disappointment, as though things had not gone according to plan.
"How boring. Judging from the way you acted earlier, I thought you'd at least put up some symbolic resistance or throw out a few harsh words. I didn't expect... you'd kneel so quickly."
He deliberately dragged out his tone, as if carefully weighing his options.
Hearing what sounded like a softening in his tone, Alecto looked up in delight, his eyes fixed desperately on Lynn's lips, hoping words like "forgiveness," "conditions," or "get out" would come out of his mouth.
But Lynn's next action shattered that fantasy completely.
With a casual wave of his wand, Amycus Carrow—still twitching on the ground from the lingering effects of the Cruciatus Curse—was roughly hoisted into the air.
Then—
"Bang!"
He was slammed heavily in front of Alecto, kicking up a cloud of dust.
The siblings rolled together in an incomparably pathetic heap.
Then, Lynn waved his wand again.
"Boom—!"
Centered around the Carrow siblings, a circle of dark red Fiendfyre erupted out of thin air.
The flames spread and rose rapidly as if alive, instantly forming an airtight ring of fire that trapped the two tightly in the center.
The scorching heat distorted the air, while sparks crackled and burst continuously.
"Don't you two like setting fires?" Lynn's voice drifted through the flames. "Especially using Fiendfyre to burn down other people's life's work and watch their property turn into ashes?"
He tilted his head slightly, looking at the two faces inside the ring of fire, both completely twisted with fear.
"Then I'm sure you'll also enjoy dying by being burned alive."
As he spoke, Lynn lightly flicked his wand upward.
As though receiving a final command, the flames surrounding the ring suddenly became violent. Tongues of fire swept inward ferociously.
"No—!!!" Alecto let out a scream of utter despair.
"Ahhh—!!!" Amycus also roared as the stinging pain of imminent death temporarily overpowered the lingering torture of the Cruciatus Curse.
The flames mercilessly climbed across their bodies, igniting their hair, skin, and clothing.
Flesh sizzled under the high temperature with a horrifying "hissss" sound. Fat melted and burned, feeding the flames and producing an even brighter blaze along with a nauseating stench of charred flesh.
Lynn watched everything indifferently, observing the two figures writhing within the flames as they gradually blackened into charred silhouettes.
[Ding! Mission completed. Rewards have been distributed.]
At the exact moment when the siblings' lives were rapidly fading alongside the burning flames and their screams were gradually weakening—
Lynn's brows suddenly furrowed.
The next second—
Vroooom—!!!
A powerful magical force suddenly erupted from within the bodies of Amycus and Alecto.
It forcibly broke through part of the Fiendfyre's suppression and condensed in midair!
A massive dark green skull appeared out of nowhere, floating above the flames.
The instant he saw it, Lynn immediately flashed backward.
The green skull suddenly opened its enormous jaws, and a powerful suction force burst forth, aimed directly at the two people burning below.
Sluuuuurp~~~
A sucking sound echoed from the skull's gaping maw.
The Fiendfyre trapping the Carrow siblings, along with their half-burned bodies, was forcibly pulled upward by the powerful suction and floated toward the skull's mouth.
Alecto Carrow had already been on the verge of losing consciousness from the agony and flames, but this sudden "rescue" gave her one last burst of strength, like the final flare of a dying candle.
Before her body vanished into the ghostly green light, she suddenly twisted toward Lynn and let out one final provocation:
"See... see that! The... Dark Lord... has... has come to save us! You... you're finished! Hahaha..."
In his eyes, this had to be a miracle from his master, who had sensed the danger threatening his most loyal servants.
Lynn stood where he was, looking at the strange skull attempting to "snatch prey from the tiger's mouth" and listening to Alecto's delirious clamor without the slightest change in expression
But he had already raised his arm and pointed at Alecto, who was being dragged toward the skull's mouth.
"Avada Kedavra!"
A beam of green light, so brilliant it was nearly blinding, shot from the tip of Lynn's wand.
Everywhere it passed, the air itself seemed to freeze.
The skull appeared to tremble slightly, but in the end, it was merely a magical construct or a remotely projected mark—not a true physical entity.
The Spell passed straight through the giant green skull without obstruction and headed directly for Alecto.
Thud!
The Killing Curse struck Alecto perfectly.
All sound abruptly ceased.
The last trace of light in his eyes vanished completely.
However, at the exact instant Alecto's life force was annihilated, the green light that should have dissipated with him did not disappear entirely.
It seemed to be drawn by something.
An identical green beam suddenly surged out from Alecto's corpse and, within an impossibly short interval, traced a zigzag line before accurately striking Amycus, who was nearby.
Everything happened in less than the blink of an eye.
The skull also appeared to fluctuate violently because of this unexpected development.
The next moment, before Lynn could react further, the massive skull suddenly collapsed inward.
Along with the Fiendfyre it had absorbed into the air and the corpses of the Carrow siblings, it vanished from the spot.
