[IRIS POV]
Alpha Gareth's eyes shifted underneath his eyelids, and that was all the warning I had before he suddenly sat up. He gasped out loud, panting heavily. Surprised by his sudden action, everyone instinctively shifted back.
Lucas and Theresa's bodies also turned rigid, shifting into a defensive mode, ready to hold Alpha Gareth back if he turned violent. Everyone had a wary look on their faces. We were all prepared for the worst. However, there wasn't a need for it.
Alpha Gareth coughed, his hand reaching for his head as he groaned in pain.
"Alpha?" Lucas asked hesitantly, coming a little closer in an attempt to see Alpha Gareth's face.
"Lucas," Theresa all but hissed. "Get back here. Are you insane? What if he―"
Theresa cut herself short, but everyone present could somewhat complete the sentence she had intended in their own heads.
