As expected, the voice on the other end replied:
"It's me, Ji Junxing."
"What were you busy with? You didn't answer my calls just now."
Xu Shengxia swirled her elegant fingertips through the bathwater, her tone unbelievably nonchalant:
"I'm taking a bath. After, you know, *that*, I feel gross if I don't soak for a while... I thought it was a spam call from an unknown number, so I didn't pick up."
Ji Junxing had been annoyed that she'd repeatedly ignored his calls, but her explanation made his irritation quickly fade. Instead, his mind couldn't help but conjure up certain images, and the tips of his ears started to turn red.
"I'm home," Ji Junxing said suddenly, his voice low and magnetic.
'So... did he call just to let me know he got home safe?'
