Up inside the building, Izuku and Uraraka were speaking about their options. Discussing what would be the strongest approach. Well more of Uraraka than Izuku.
"So what do you think?" She asked nervously.
"He'll come at me. His goal is me. So I think you should depart now and focus entirely on Ida at the upper levels. When I take him down I'll send a shockwave up towards your area to disrupt him. You'll know. You'll hear the rumbling. That's when you take the chance and use your Quirk on the bomb. Makes sense, doesn't it?" He said calmly.
She blinked her eyes for a few before nodding slowly. With that, he sent her off before turning towards the open area. There, a small shadow could be seen propelling towards him at high speeds.
"DEKU!!!" Was all that was heard as the figure closed in.
Emerald Edict's First Cycle—Typhoon!
Green arcs of lightning encompassed Izuku as his stance shifted. His calves bulged, thighs flexing as his hands were positioned in a running motion.
Vwoom!
Boom!
His figure vanished leaving behind a long streak of green lightning and a muffled boom. As his figure launched towards Bakugo, his face adopted a manic smile that made Bakugo momentarily freeze in his advance.
It was the same one Ryūjin wore whenever he fought. And that was awfully terrifying to see on Izuku.
Emerald Edict's Fourth Cycle—
His body twisted midair as he flexed his arms cocking them back at his waist before throwing them out with a concentrated amount of OFA circulating within them.
—Wyrm Cannon!
VWOOM!
KA-BOOM!!!!!!
Fists and palms collided, shaking the building, shattering windows, destroying the area and the flooring completely! Bakugo flew through the air, smashing through several walls of the building before stopping at a lonely room.
From the distance, Izuku had remained standing where he and Bakugo had just collided. He gazed into the distance of the destruction before shaking his head.
"If this is all you have then you aren't ready yet." He spat with disdain as he pivoted on his heel, preparing to leave this area.
Outside the students who observed were shocked beyond what they could comprehend.
"H-Holy shit..! That's Izuku-kun? The smiling tall goofball?! He looks terrifying!" Jiro said nervously.
"I-I know right! Look what he did to Bakugo-san! The fight's over just like that!" Kaminari spoke next.
"All that power and strength… and he's only second..? So what about Ryūjin.." Yaoyorozu murmured before taking a glance at Ryūjin who was strangely quiet at this moment. He just looked at the screen intently.
All Might cheered mentally for Izuku whilst maintaining his standard expression. But he couldn't believe the progress he had been seeing with Izuku. He was so shocked that he could make such progress with OFA.
Nonetheless it was welcomed and appreciated. That just meant he wouldn't have to worry long for the next Symbol Of Peace to appear. Off to the side however, Aizawa narrowed his eyes as he gazed at the monitor screen.
'That level of power inside a fifteen year old kid isn't what's concerning me. It's the level of control he has over it that is.' His thoughts were unreadable even if you glanced at his expression.
He shifted his gaze, and it landed on Ryūjin. Ryūjin felt his gaze and turned towards his direction before giving a wide grin as a greeting.
Meanwhile—back at the scene of the collision.
Izuku had turned and walked away, listening for Ida's location as he was preparing an ambush to throw him off. However—other people had different plans in mind it seemed.
"HOWITZER IMPACT!!!"
KA-BOOM!!!
A massive explosion flew out towards Izuku catching him in the back sending him flying. Bakugo had returned fiercer than ever, bleeding from his forehead yet still grinning devilishly.
"YOU THINK IT'S OVER?!" He screamed as he took off towards Izuku's direction. "It's just beginning, Deku!!!!"
C-Crackle!
BOOOOOM!
Bakugo vanished into the distance as he met up with Izuku who had now peeled himself off a wall. His nose leaked a few drops of blood as he stood upright.
Blowing it out to the side, he had already heard and seen the incoming tyrant.
And he just smiled.
His stance shifted once more, adapting a Muay Thai pose as OFA began circling once more.
"OFA 45 percent—" His breathing regulated smoothly.
"Emerald Edict's Sixth Cycle—Flow Invictus."
Silence.
The area was literally silenced.
And then—he just vanished in a blur.
No sonic boom, no large craters. Just gone as though he was deleted from existence.
But Bakugo knew what was coming. His explosions screamed as he pushed the output up higher and higher.
"HOWITZER—"
"—IMPACT!!!!!!!"
BOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
A spinning roundhouse connected with a vicious haymaker, decimating the area around them as both figures were flung away from one another.
But before they could disappear fully, they blasted themselves back at the center of their chaos once more for another clash.
Izuku maintained his Flow Invictus state which was like a smoother, more advanced form of Full Cowling.
He threw spinning kicks, flying knees, spinning elbows and powerful jabs at Bakugo. Bakugo tried to parry as much as he could, block as much as could but it was just too much.
He saw a straight coming to his face and raised his giant gauntlets to guard but then for a moment, there was nothing.
'Shit! A feint!'
Too late!
A leg connected to his liver with a loud boom! His eyes bulged madly as blood arose within his throat, peeking through his clenched jaw.
The weight of the attack sent him off into the distance with a whistling blur, but Izuku didn't spare him the chance!
He vanished in a blur, chasing behind Bakugo's shrinking figure. Momentarily, he had stopped his body high above the accelerating Bakugo.
He knew he would try to stop himself soon. So in the meantime, he had decided to unleash the finisher.
With one more blast, he tailed him for a bit more. That was when he saw it. Bakugo blasted himself back, stopping his acceleration whilst remaining elevated within the air, clutching his side, gasping for air.
His ribs were definitely fractured with a few possibly broken. He groaned in pain, preparing to launch himself back with gritted teeth.
But all that mattered not when he heard it. That crackling lightning. Izuku's heavy voice.
Emerald Edict's Fifth Cycle—
He descended using his own weight and the assistance of gravity, whilst channeling OFA into his right leg that he slowly rose into something reminiscent of an axe kick.
No, it was an axe kick. But not an ordinary one.
—Skyfeller!!!!
"!!!"
"AP MACHINE GUN—" Bakugo screamed in response as he saw the rapidly descending Izuku. A feral smile was unleashed as he threw out his final attack, focusing all of his power into it!
BOOOOOM!!!!!!
The building could no longer withstand it. It quaked and shattered as it began collapsing slowly. Bakugo cratered deeply into the ground, unresponsive. To the side, Izuku stood breathing slightly hard, but that smile never left his face.
"Good fight, Kacchan."
Immediately, Izuku grabbed the unconscious and bloodied Bakugo before shooting through the roof of the building.
There he saw Ida running with the large bomb as Uraraka stumbled around due to the collapsing building.
"Uraraka! Take Bakugo and leave the building through the window!" Izuku said as he tossed Bakugo towards Uraraka who immediately activated her Quirk the moment she caught him.
Seeing them off Izuku turned and darted towards Ida whose heart literally stopped. Izuku wasted no time in this pursuit as he appeared behind Ida in a flash.
"I-Impos—"
Bang!
Izuku throws a hard right to the back of his head, knocking him out before grabbing both the explosive and Ida and leaving the building. It all happened in a flash, shocking every single person who was watching.
C-crumble!
And like that the building finally collapsed.
"H-Hero team wins!" All Might declared, breaking the silence with a stammering tone of voice.
. . .
"That was fricking epic!!!!" Ashido was practically screaming! Literally fangirling.
"Izuku-kun, how were you able to outrun Ida??? A literal engine!!!" Sero couldn't believe what he had seen!
"That was such an intense match!!! We have to do our best for sure now! He just set the bar!" Ojiro shouted.
"T-that was the most manliest thing I have ever seen!!!!" Kirishima shouted as he ran towards Izuku.
"Well done brother! But I thought I told you not to overdo it!" Ryūjin laughed aloud, slapping Izuku on his back earning him a sharp inhale.
All Might saw the growing chaos and immediately silenced it.
"Firstly, Aizawa-san. I'll have to trouble you with carrying these two to Recovery Girl!" He asked, turning towards the gloomy teacher.
"Sure. Be back in a few." He agreed without hesitation before throwing both students onto his shoulders and sprinting off towards the infirmary.
"Now! Young Midoriya, Miss Uraraka-chan! Front and center please!"
"Aye!"
"Aye."
Now, you all handled it very well but there were methods you all overlooked and things you should have considered. Property damage, risk of civilians being inside. What else?" He asked as he looked at the other students.
Yaoyorozu raised her hand and All Might selected her.
She started, "Although Midoriya-kun showed excellent power and ability to handle the villain which was Bakugo, he got consumed in the battle and overlooked the potential risks in doing so.
In a real life situation, the bomb could have gone off due to the intense shockwaves created by the fight. Civilians could have been crushed and killed due to the collapsing building.
The effects of a collapsing building could have triggered public panic around it which would have left an easy opening for any remaining villains to escape."
A round of applause was garnered from her long explanation as hardheaded guys like Kirishima and Kaminari hadn't even considered some of those things.
"Excellently said! That is correct! But fret not! It was an amazing battle, you two!" He said as he turned back to Izuku and Uraraka.
"You managed to complete your primary mission, most importantly! Time for the rest of you to get a go at it! I'll also visit those two after they wake up in the infirmary so don't think they'll miss out on their share."
He paused, taking a deep breath before continuing.
"Now, for the next group!"
And just like that, groups were created in pairs.
Heroes and villains clashed. Some villain teams won, some hero teams won. But nonetheless, they learnt from their mistakes whilst gaining experience in hand-to-hand combat.
And finally, Ryūjin was about to get paired with someone. That person being the bubbly lifeform, Ashido.
"Nice!!! Looks like I can't slack off with such an intense partner!" She winked at Ryūjin who just rolled his eyes.
All Might turned to them with a serious expression.
"For this round of the exercise, you guys will be the villains. So I'm sure that you more or less understand your tasks.
It won't be easy though. The heroes you'll be fighting are young Todoroki-san and young Tokoyami-kun!"
"Ohh!!!!" Kirishima shouted, clearly hyped.
"Another intense match is about to go down…" Uraraka murmured, clearly nervous as she had been in the middle of one.
"It seems I'll have to display the true might of darkness today." Tokoyami said with a serious expression as he approached Todoroki's side.
Standing opposite one another, Ryūjin and Todoroki were engaged in a silent stare off.
Todoroki held his icy gaze whereas Ryūjin's face cracked into a manic smile. Uraraka and the others shivered looking at that smile.
Because they knew that smile.
Both shared that battle hungry smile. And when it was shown, things were about to get intense. Really intense.
Ryūjin and Ashido strutted on, passing both Todoroki and Tokoyami. Ryūjin towered over him by sheer size and height alone. As he walked past them he stopped before saying, "If you don't use your full power, you're going to make zero progress against someone like me."
Todoroki's eyes widened as he spun around with clenched fists. "We'll see about that." He murmured through clenched teeth.
Like so, both teams got into their respective positions as they awaited the signal. No one that had gathered around the monitoring screen dare say a word. They couldn't right now. That's how intense this battle was about to be.
Aside from Izuku's own, no one else had such an intense and destructive battle. So they wondered now. If that was how the number two performed. How was the number one?
Yaoyorozu bit her nails as her mind turned. 'This is going to be another one to watch closely. These are the top rankers going at it. If I can't even learn an ounce of something useful here and apply it to my own training, then I'm nothing!' Those were her thoughts.
And truthfully? It was the thoughts of all those that had gathered. Whether eagerly awaiting the clash or focusing on the soon to be seen skillset of either pair. They all had one mutual understanding even though it went unspoken.
'Observe, learn and adapt!'
But can they keep up? Because truthfully they don't know anything about the man known as Hanma Ryūjin.
Although, today? They were about to find out what it meant to be a Hanna.The weight of that responsibility and the legacy hidden behind that name in time to come. And when they do, they and the world will witness it.
They will witness what it means to be absolutely limitless.
