The world of Dynas is infinitely large, filled with many different kinds of creatures and beings.
Some possess strange powers, while others are highly intelligent. But the strangest things in this world are completely unexplainable.
The Kingdom of Luch, one of the most powerful forces known in Dynas, is ruled by supreme vampires and angels who possess no weaknesses.
In a quiet field, a teenage girl with blooming white hair and glowing blue eyes was lying on the grass.
"Princess, why have you escaped the palace again!?" asked Hana, a holy knight.
Knowing she was caught, the princess smiled gently.
"It is so boring there. All I have to do is study, train, and stay isolated inside my room," the princess replied.
Seeing her innocent smile, Hana's strict demeanor melted away. "Okay, okay."
Suddenly, the sky turned a dark, bleeding red. An unknown source of heavy, negative power crashed down from the heavens.
{What is that? Have the heavens forsaken us?} Hana thought, drawing her weapon. {How could such devilish energy fall even through the seven heavens' protection?}
The princess's face lit up with excitement. Hana noticed it immediately. "Don't get any weird ideas."
But the princess had already made up her mind. She ran straight toward the crash site.
"Aghh, not again... Wait for me!" Hana yelled in frustration as she chased after her.
...
Quickly following the orders of the authority, a group of elite hunters went to investigate the crash.
The group of warriors stood in front of a dark cave. It was giving off an energy that far surpassed even the immortals.
"Prepare yourselves. We are going inside!"
As they ventured deep into the cave, they noticed a dark, divine figure. It appeared to be in its weakest state.
"ATTACK NOW!" The hunters roared, rushing toward the figure.
The leader of the group, Ye Leo, charged ahead of them all. The warriors chattered behind him in excitement.
"We will be rich if we can harvest its body for rare resources."
"What if it turns out to be stronger than we expected?"
"Don't worry, newbie. Ye Leo is the greatest swordmaster alive. His 'Undefined Arts' are capable of cutting through any type of immortality."
Leo swung his blade, ready to strike the weakened creature. "Di...e?"
His sword hit empty air. The figure had completely disappeared and was now standing directly behind Leo.
Leo quickly raised his guard, sweating. {How did it move so quickly? I can comprehend everything beyond time and space...} he thought.
"If you had slashed me, you would have died. You should be grateful," the dark figure spoke. "Leave me alone, although I know you won't. My master has told me to show mercy."
Leo saw an opening and unleashed his ultimate essence attack, but the massive strike splashed right through the figure, doing absolutely nothing.
"You may be able to kill immortals, but not what I am," the figure said, slowly fading away.
Ye Leo was left shaking in terror. Completely misunderstanding the situation, his disciples ran up to praise him. "Great job, Master! You defeated it effortlessly!"
Behind a large rock, the princess had been watching the battle. Her eyes were wide with terror.
Suddenly, the dark figure materialized right behind her. She froze completely. He leaned in and handed her something that appeared to be a small cloud of spinning, spiral smoke.
"Take care of it until it disappears," the figure whispered. And her eyes turned white, and she stood still until he was gone.
Her eyes turned back to normal, as she trembled. {How did that thing know I was here? It looked directly at me and smiled... even though my presence was fully sealed and invisible.}
"Sir, did it drop any loot?" asked one of Leo's disciples.
While Ye Leo and his team eagerly searched the cave, the princess quietly escaped.
She found Hana waiting nervously near the guards outside. Grabbing her hand, the princess ran as fast as she could before her mana ran out.
"..." The guards were left confused.
"Huff... huff..." They both gasped for air in a safe spot.
Still in fear, the princess showed Hana the spinning spiral cloud. Hana touched it, and it started to fly playfully around them.
{Wait, it is not a magical core?} Hana frowned in frustration. {Then why can't I sense its presence when it is right in front of me?}
Hana looked at the princess. "It doesn't seem to possess any source of energy. It is not even a living being."
"But it is moving around and reacting to our movements," the princess pointed out. "What is it, then? Something from far beyond the heavens?"
"I wouldn't know. But at best, you can use it to practice however you wish endlessly," Hana sighed.
Hana tried to grab it, but her hand passed right through the smoke. {Maybe it is some kind of essence or a broken soul.}
"What a waste," Hana muttered. "I have never seen a cursed being like this."
Back at the palace, the princess sat in her room with the smoke. "What even are you? Can you speak?"
The Cloud just floated silently around her. Deep inside, it sensed something else, another powerful soul hiding within the girl's body.
"Maybe not," the princess sighed. "Oh, right! Let's give you a name!"
Suddenly, her blue eyes rolled back, glowing pure white as if she were under someone else's control.
"Nx. That will be your name."
She blinked hard and shook her head. "Huh? Why did I think of a name like that?"
She quickly brushed it off. "Maybe I can have you as my familiar."
She placed her hands near Nx, closing her eyes and focusing to form a connection between his essence and hers.
Suddenly, everything in her room started shaking violently.
Nx sensed the second soul inside her getting stronger, violently trying to take control of her body to stop the process.
The princess gasped in pain. "Why are you trying to stop it?" she asked aloud.
A voice echoed directly in her mind. {What are you doing? Stop this now! It is dangerous!}
"Why? What do you mean?"
{That thing is missing half of its essence! It does not even exist properly, and the other half is a composite of everything!}
"So what?"
{If it is stronger than I expect, it will gain authority over your memories, your thoughts, and everything you are!}
A bright flash of light filled the room. The familiar contract had been fully formed.
"Oops..." the princess whispered.
{You... I told you to stop!!!!} the inner soul raged.
"But I am perfectly fine, see?" she smiled playfully.
{That... is also true...} the voice grumbled, retreating back into her subconscious.
The princess finally looked around. Her entire room was a destroyed mess. "Uhh... I need to clean this up."
...
The princess shook her head, snapping out of the old memory of the red sky, bringing herself back to the present day.
"Hey Nx, let's go outside," she said, walking toward the gardens.
Nx followed her. As they went, Nx thought of many things.
{She doesn't know, but I can read her thoughts because of the familiar contract,} Nx thought to himself. {That is how I learned to speak by manipulating sounds around me.}
{I learned to manipulate things using her energy through the contract}
{And I made it appear that I learned slowly to avoid suspicion from her other soul.}
{Today is the day she will try to pour her mana into me so I can awaken my essence, it would let me create my own source of energy.}
She sat down, leaning against a large tree. Closing her eyes, she focused all her mana directly on Nx's location.
Suddenly, time froze.
The wind stopped. The leaves hung motionless in the air.
"There you are," a distorted, unknown voice echoed.
An unknown entity materialized out of nowhere. Instantly, it implemented infinite curses upon Nx, forcing him to suffer agonizing torture while suspended in frozen time.
The entity prepared to kill him permanently. "Bye."
Just before the strike landed, Nx completely disappeared.
"Hoho. It seems TEoEAN is still there," the unknown entity chuckled. It vanished, and time resumed instantly.
The wind blew. The leaves fell.
The princess opened her eyes, realizing her mana flow was cut. Their contract had been forcefully corrupted.
"Nx?"
She looked around the empty grass, panic rising in her chest.
"Where are you?"
"NXXX!"
