I needed to know exactly who I was dealing with before making a move. Staying low behind the ridge, I focused my vision on the man in the imperial robes.

- [Copy Condition: Zang Wilong seeks to obtain something by cooperating with the 'Reaper' Guild. Figure out the thing he is looking for to copy his Exclusive Skill or one of his Skills.]
His Stats were impressive, as expected of an S-Rank. It was interesting to see he belonged to the 'Black Serpent' Guild and was only moonlighting with 'Reaper.' Was he also searching for 'that'? It seemed unlikely. In the VR game, the existence of 'that' was so well-hidden that I only stumbled upon it on my 54th account. However, if he was after the same prize then this was about to get much more complicated.
I pulled my black mask over my face and stepped forward.
"[Activating 'Glacial Dominion: Ice Wall' Lvl 2!]"
I slammed my hand onto the burning sand, and a massive wall of jagged ice erupted between the two warring parties. The sudden wall forced a momentary pause in the carnage. Jean D'Arc whipped her head around, her eyes widening behind her visor as she spotted me.
"Yo—you!?" she stammered, clearly remembering our brief encounter on the 2nd Floor.
Zang Wilong, however, wasn't interested in a reunion. Without a word, he lunged.
"[Activating 'Demon Thrust' Lvl 6!]"
His spear became a blur, a series of deadly, high-speed thrusts that shattered my ice blocks like they were made of glass. He was a man of action, not words. Jean barely had time to reset her stance.
"[Activating The Exclusive Skill, 'Blessings of the Stars: Holy Shield × Sign of the Cross' Lvl 6!]"
The air hummed with divine energy as she intercepted Wilong's assault. I could see she had grown stronger since we last met, her movements were more refined and her aura was more stable. But Wilong was relentless. He spun his spear, gathering a terrifying amount of dark aura at the tip.
"[Activating 'Spear Demon's Technique: First Form: Earth-Splitter' Lvl 5!]"
He brought the weapon down in a massive vertical arc. The range was too wide to dodge, and the sheer power threatened to split the very desert in two. Jean braced herself; she could survive the hit, but her party members behind her wouldn't. She was already shifting her weight, clearly preparing to sacrifice her own safety to act as a shield for her team.
I wasn't going to let that happen.
"[Activating the 1-Star Barrier, 'Aegis of Still Waters'!]"
"[Activating 'Moon Imprint' Lvl 1!]"
"[Notice: Your 'Barrier' Skills have been greatly enhanced!]"
I traced glowing runes in the air with a flick of my wrist. An ethereal, shimmering dome snapped into existence just as Wilong's spear connected. The impact was deafening, a shockwave that kicked up a storm of sand, but the barrier held firm.
Wilong's stoic expression finally cracked. He stared in genuine shock as his mountain-cleaving strike was stopped cold by a "Support" skill. I didn't give him a chance to recover.
"[Activating The Class Exclusive Skill, 'Shield: Tough Spears'!]"
"[Notice: The effects of the Passive Skill 'Absolute Authority' have been applied!]"
Using the Passive to manipulate the shape, I bypassed the need for more runes. I molded the basic flat shield into a long, multi-layered spear with a needle-sharp tip. With a mental command, I launched the shield spears at him like a railgun shot.
"[Activating 'Aura Skin' Lvl 5!]"
Wilong realized it was moving too fast to avoid. He flooded his body with 'Aura', hardening his skin into a metallic defense. It didn't matter. The concentrated force of the shield-turned-spear pierced through his [Aura Skin] as if it were paper. Wilong was blasted backward, hitting the ground hard as blood bloomed from a clean hole in his left shoulder.
