Arthur slipped a gold coin into the guard's hand with a casual motion, earning himself immediate entry without further questioning.
He had long since learned that, regardless of the world, money remained one of the simplest and most effective tools for opening doors.
As he stepped into the city, he took a moment to observe his surroundings. The architecture, the people, the atmosphere—it all felt vividly alive. Fortunately, thanks to the Dimensional Travel System, he found that understanding the language came naturally to him, as if he had always known it. Communication, at least, wouldn't be an obstacle.

Arthur glanced at the notification briefly before dismissing it and continuing forward. His destination was clear—the Pantheon, the headquarters of the Adventurers' Guild. He vaguely remembered its location from something he had read before, and with a bit of intuition, he navigated the streets without much trouble.
As he walked, a sharp sensation prickled at the edge of his awareness.
Someone was watching him.
The gaze was intense, deliberate, scanning him from head to toe as if trying to dissect his very existence. With his heightened senses, pinpointing its origin was effortless—it was coming from above, from somewhere near the top of the towering structure dominating the city.
Arthur's lips curved faintly.
"It can only be her… right?"
Rather than reacting, he chose to ignore it and continued walking as if nothing had happened. Even so, the presence lingered, never once leaving him.
Before long, he arrived at a large, elegant building constructed from polished stone and reinforced wood—the Guild.
The interior was quieter than he expected. Only a handful of people remained, suggesting it was already late in the day, with most adventurers likely deep within the dungeon.
Arthur approached a nearby man to ask for directions. The man, rather plain in appearance, lazily pointed toward a counter in the corner before returning to his own business.
At the counter stood a young woman.
She had a slender build, pointed ears that marked her as a half-elf, and shoulder-length brown hair that framed her face neatly. Her emerald eyes carried a calm, attentive light, and her uniform—a black vest over a white blouse, paired with fitted trousers and boots—gave her a professional yet approachable appearance.
Arthur recognized her almost immediately.
Eina Tulle.
He stepped forward and spoke without hesitation.
"I'd like to register as an adventurer."
Eina looked up at him, her practiced smile faltering ever so slightly as she took in his appearance.
He's… extremely handsome.
She quickly composed herself, though a faint warmth lingered on her cheeks.
"What's your name and age?"
Arthur gave a polite nod.
"My apologies, I should have introduced myself first. My name is Arthur Tempest, and I'm seventeen years old. May I ask your name as well?"
His tone was calm and courteous, yet there was something about him an unspoken presence that made him seem far more refined than the average newcomer. Eina felt a slight flutter of unease mixed with curiosity.
"I'm just a guild employee. You can call me Eina. Misha, I'll be mentoring a newcomer—could you cover for me?"
A voice responded from somewhere behind the counter.
"Okay~"
Eina gestured for Arthur to follow her, and together they entered a quieter room furnished with a table and a couple of chairs. She retrieved a few documents from a nearby shelf before turning her attention back to him.
"Let's begin with a few questions. Do you have any combat experience?"
Arthur nodded without hesitation.
"I've trained in martial arts for a long time, and I've fought monsters before."
Eina studied him briefly, her instincts confirming his claim. His posture, his composure—none of it matched that of a complete beginner.
"I see… That makes things easier. Next question—are you affiliated with any Familia?"
Arthur shook his head.
"I haven't received a Falna yet."
She noted that down quickly.
"In that case, I can recommend a few Familia for you. Based on your build, you should be able to apply to at least a mid-tier one without too much difficulty."
She began listing options, explaining their strengths and opportunities, but Arthur raised a hand to stop her.
"I'd prefer a smaller Familia. The fewer members, the better."
Eina blinked in surprise.
"Arthur, larger Familia offer better resources, stronger support systems, and safer progression paths. It would be wiser to aim for something more stable."
He shook his head calmly.
"I'm not interested in something easy. I want to build something from the ground up—to take a small Familia and raise it to the top. That's my goal."
Eina sighed softly, pinching the bridge of her nose.
Another one…
In her experience, most adventurers carried some level of madness, and this boy was no exception—though his version was far more composed than most.
"…Very well. Let me show you the smaller Familia options."
She presented him with several possibilities, carefully explaining each one, but none of them seemed to interest him.
After a moment of thought, Arthur spoke again.
"Do you happen to know of a Familia that currently has no members at all?"
Eina's expression froze.
For a brief moment, she genuinely considered hitting him with her notebook.
She inhaled slowly, clearly on the verge of scolding him for being unreasonable—
Then paused.
"…Actually…"
Her eyes shifted slightly as she recalled something.
"I might know exactly the person you're looking for."
She closed her notebook with a decisive motion and stood up.
"Come with me."
The woman stood up without another word and left the room, moving with purpose as she headed toward a specific direction within the city.
Arthur followed closely behind, his expression calm, though a faint anticipation stirred within him. If his guess was correct, then they were about to meet the very person he had been waiting for since the moment he arrived in this world.
Meanwhile, not far from the guild, a certain goddess was having a rather unfortunate day.
Hestia sat on a stone bench, her shoulders slightly slumped, her usual lively energy nowhere to be found.
The morning sunlight fell gently over her, yet it did little to lift her mood. Her friend Hephaestus had already warned her—if she failed to establish a Familia soon, she would be forced out onto the streets.
And yet, despite her efforts over the past few days, she had nothing to show for it.
Every single person she approached had rejected her.
Without exception.
They would ask questions about resources, about strength, about headquarters and the moment she admitted that she had none of those things, that she was a newly descended goddess living under a friend's roof with no funds to her name… they would leave.
Some politely.
Some not.
Hestia clenched her small fists, her lips trembling slightly as frustration bubbled to the surface.
"I'm supposed to be a beautiful and respected goddess… shouldn't they want to join me…?"
Her voice carried a hint of indignation, but beneath it lay something far more fragile. The reality of the lower world was far harsher than she had imagined, and for the first time since descending, she felt genuinely lost.
She let out a small sigh, her energy draining as she considered giving up for the day. It was already late enough that most potential adventurers had likely found something else to occupy their time.
Maybe… she should just go home.
Just as she began to rise, her attention was caught by a familiar figure approaching her at a brisk pace.
One of the guild employees.
Hestia froze.
A flicker of panic crossed her face as memories of her last encounter surfaced—being scolded for causing a disturbance near the guild. For a brief moment, she even considered running away, but before she could act, the girl called out to her.
"Goddess Hestia, wait! I think I've found a candidate for your Familia!"
Hestia stopped instantly.
Her entire demeanor changed in a heartbeat.
Her eyes lit up with hope, and she turned around so quickly it was almost comical.
"Who?!"
The guild worker finally reached her, slightly out of breath, and Hestia's gaze immediately shifted past her… landing on the person standing behind.
For a brief moment, she was stunned.
The young man standing there was far too handsome to be ignored. His presence alone felt refined, almost radiant, carrying a calm confidence that set him apart from the rough adventurers she had been dealing with.
Is… is he a god? she wondered instinctively.
Her thoughts began to race.
"Where is the candidate? You didn't bring him with you? Do I have to go meet him myself?"
Her impatience returned almost immediately, driven by the excitement of finally having a chance.
Arthur stepped forward then, a gentle smile forming on his lips as he met her gaze.
Up close, Hestia's features became even clearer her deep blue eyes, her long black twin tails that flowed down her back, and her petite figure that gave her an almost youthful charm despite her divine nature.
"My name is Arthur Tempest," he said calmly, his voice steady and respectful. "And I would like to become the first member of your Familia, Goddess Hestia."
For a moment
Silence.
Hestia blinked once.
Then twice.
Her mind struggled to process what she had just heard.
"…Eh?"
Her lips parted slightly, and her expression froze in place, as if reality itself had lagged behind her thoughts.
Then, suddenly—
"EH?!"
Her voice echoed loudly through the street as realization hit her all at once.
She grabbed Arthur by the shoulders without hesitation, her eyes shining with an intensity that bordered on overwhelming.
"Y-You're serious?! You're not joking, right?! You actually want to join my Familia?!"
There was disbelief in her voice… but also hope.
Raw, unfiltered hope.
And for the first time since arriving in this world—
Hestia looked like a goddess who had finally been saved.
