I ran out of my apartment. This can't be happening; it's just a mistake. Tommy's okay; it's just someone who looks like him. It's not one of my brothers! I ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I refuse to believe that either of them is gone. I found the Crematorium. I ran through the doors, and there were two men with Jake, and in a box, there was Tommy. I felt everything go numb. My brother, our brother, is dead. It's only Jake and me left. Now, I am going to Pandora alone; Jake will be sent instead of Tommy. Jake doesn't even know I'm going, so he shouldn't see me on the expedition. I know Jake will want me to stay on Earth, but I refuse to be left alone on a dying planet while Jake is out there in who-knows-what dangers.
I went on the trip to Pandora; Tommy and I had trained for three years to use avatars, and I had exceeded Tommy since I managed to do gymnastics while in the avatar body, and I got the highest score in training. The trip was through while we went in cryo sleep. I didn't dream, but when I woke up, I felt like I got my ass beat, and just got up with a hangover. Thankfully, I wasn't anywhere near Jake, so he has no idea I'm here. I looked around as I was brought out of the space, with no gravity around us. My red streak floated over my face. The military doesn't normally allow unnatural hair colour, but since I had left the Marines, I was the exception. Soon enough, we landed on Pandora in groups. This made it easy to avoid Jake and keep my distance. Now, I have to get to work on getting a setup far from here and exploring Pandora.
First things first, I have to get used to going between my Avatar and my actual body. I often got to the obstacle course, and used some gymnastics and worked my body into shape, like my human body is. Once I was set, I managed to get one of the aircraft set out and one of the link sheds. I took out the trackers initially put in, took my things and picked up my avatar, which I had left on the camp settlement rooftop, and headed to the furthest place from the RDA and their setup.
I won't have any part in them destroying this planet like they destroyed Earth. The Na'vi are strong locals; they could throw a fully grown human across a field if they really wanted to. Best to stay away or to just leave them alone to avoid trouble. Once I landed, I got into the Link shed, switched to my Avatar, and got to looking around. Travelling around the nearby area was incredible, seeing the view.
"Beautiful," I said while looking out at the horizon over the forests and thousands of trees. I'd gladly stay here for the rest of my life over going back to earth. Then this little white thing floated in front of my nose. "Oh, hello there,"
I laughed as the little thing hovered around me.
"Well, aren't you a friendly little thing?" I cupped my hands together; the little thing hovered in my hands. "Haha, you're cute,"
The little creature floated around my hands, then hovered away.
"Bye," I smiled, watching it go, then continued exploring. I don't remember hearing about those things or documentation on them. For a split second, in the corner of my eye, I thought I saw someone in the tree overhead. "Uh,"
"Kaltxì?" I called, looking up, I studied Navie in the three years of Avatar training. I didn't see anyone move. I shook my head and headed off for home base. I was confused; I was so sure someone was there. Before I brought the Link Shed out here, I modified it to be like a portable house that my Avatar can live in with supplies and food growing inside. I climbed into the living space and got some food to eat. The area with oxygen and the link bed has food brought from earth set up to grow, so mostly plants and some dried meat.
I settled my avatar in after that, and slept, but not really; my consciousness went back to my human body. I got up and looked at my body. After I spent a few hours out there, it felt like a beautiful dream, one I would give anything to live in forever. But, I can't, I now have two bodies to take care of. I always will, now that I'm here.
