The end of Volume One.
This is the end of Volume one/Book one of the core: the legendary Journey
I'd like to say that this is my first full-length novel. I've been writing short stories for quite some time, so The Core: Legendary Journey is my first time venturing into a complete novel.
This story won't be like most sports novels. It's a blend of sports with elements of cultivation—not to the level of xianxia, but grounded enough to feel realistic. There won't be magic spells but will have over-the-top supernatural abilities.
The novel's system may seem slow to develop or even change at times. The reason is that I want it to be easy to understand, and more importantly, I want this story to be character-driven rather than system-driven. Because of that, the system doesn't appear in every chapter.
The idea for this story came from playing FIFA 20 and Pro Evolution Soccer 2020 (PES 2020). I spent countless hours playing the Become a Legend career mode, and that's where the inspiration for this novel was born.
I also struggled with deciding where to begin the story. At first, I considered starting with Winston at fifteen or sixteen years old. However, after fully developing the plot, I scrapped that idea. I decided to begin when he is nineteen, already possessing some football skills, so the story could move forward at a better pace.
Volume One focuses on Winston's life, his determination to build a football career, and the goals he hopes to achieve, such as earning promotion from the youth league.
As for the core system, I'll explain it in much greater detail in Volume Two.
