Karishma sat alone in the staff room, dressed in her usual professional suit.
The final period had already begun. Most teachers were either in class or busy with departmental work. She was using the quiet time to prepare question papers for the lower grades.
The scratching of her pen paused when a voice came from the doorway.
"Ma'am, may I come in?"
She looked up and frowned.
Rohit.
For a brief moment, surprise flickered across her face. She knew she was supposed to take his special session today, but she hadn't expected him to obtain permission from his current teacher so easily.
"You got permission?" she asked.
Rohit smiled lightly. "Of course."
He stepped inside and casually closed the door behind him. The soft click of the lock echoed in the empty room, instantly putting her on edge. Her grip tightened around the pen.
"Why are you closing the door?" she asked cautiously, sitting up straighter.
