Rohit guided Kavita into the quiet bedroom and gently helped her sit on the edge of the mattress.
She drew a sharp breath as his fingers accidentally brushed against her swollen ankle.
Rohit's expression turned serious as he carefully examined the injury. "We need to apply the oil first."
"I'm fine, Rohit. A painkiller will do," she protested, heat rising to her cheeks.
The simple act of him kneeling in front of her and holding her bare leg made her acutely aware of every small movement. Her heart beat faster than it should.
"Painkillers can wait," he replied calmly. "The swelling can't."
"Really, it's not that bad…"
"Then why are you limping?"
She opened her mouth, but no convincing answer came out.
Rohit looked up at her, his gaze steady and filled with genuine-looking concern. "Trust me."
The quiet conviction in his voice slowly chipped away at her resistance.
