Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Zeno’s Entry into the Shadows of Fate

Island of the Gods

A floating land among the clouds…

A place no mortal was ever allowed to step into.

At the highest point of the island stood a massive hall made of white marble. Its pillars stretched all the way into the sky, and golden lightning danced across the ceiling.

In the center of the hall were four thrones.

And on those thrones sat four gods.

Zeus, God of Thunder.

Anubis, God of Death and Rebirth.

Susanoo, God of Sea and Storms.

And Odin, God of Sun and Wisdom.

The atmosphere was heavy.

Heavier than ever before.

Finally, Zeus broke the silence.

"We can't wait anymore."

Lightning crackled between his fingers.

"He's building an army."

Susanoo frowned.

"It's not just an army…"

He slammed his hand on the stone table.

"Every day more demons are joining him. Even some mortal races have sided with him."

Anubis spoke calmly.

"They're afraid."

Everyone turned to him.

Anubis continued:

"Mortals fear us. He's just using that fear."

A few seconds of silence passed.

Zeus said angrily:

"So you're defending him?"

Anubis replied without emotion:

"No."

Then he looked out toward the massive window.

"But this war didn't start from nothing."

Zeus narrowed his eyes.

Susanoo stayed silent.

Odin, who had been quiet until now, slowly raised his head.

"It doesn't matter who started it."

His voice was calm…

But each word felt heavier than a mountain.

"If we don't stop him now, in a few years there won't be anything left of the gods' rule."

Silence fell.

Everyone knew the truth.

Shinigami was no longer just the King of Demons.

He had become a symbol—one that more and more people were gathering behind every day.

People who hated the gods.

People searching for justice somewhere else.

And that's what terrified the gods.

Zeus clenched his fist.

"So it's decided?"

Anubis closed his eyes.

Susanoo sighed.

Odin stood up.

Light flared behind him like a rising sun.

"Yes."

For a moment, the entire hall fell silent.

Then Odin spoke the words that would change the fate of the world.

"Shinigami… must be erased."

---

War of the Gods and the Demon King

Months later…

The sky of the world split open for the first time in history.

The army of the gods descended from the heavens.

Angels, sacred spirits, ancient heroes, beings lost in legends.

On the other side…

The demon army stood waiting.

Millions of demons stared silently at the sky.

At the center of the battlefield stood Shinigami.

His black cloak moved in the wind.

The massive sword "Kleinor" rested on his shoulder.

He looked up.

Four gods descended through the clouds.

Zeus.

Anubis.

Susanoo.

Odin.

Just their presence alone made mountains shake.

Zeus shouted:

"Shinigami! Today is your end!"

Shinigami only smiled.

"You sent four gods just to kill me?"

He slammed Kleinor into the ground.

A massive shockwave shook the battlefield.

"You're giving me too much respect."

And the war began.

---

The War

Day one…

Continents split apart.

Day three…

Oceans were thrown into the sky.

Day seven…

Half the world was burning.

Wherever the gods stepped, demons fell.

Wherever Kleinor fell, entire armies vanished.

The world no longer knew day from night.

All they saw…

Was endless lightning and a blood-red sky.

---

Final Battle

In the end…

The armies were gone.

The commanders were dead.

Only five remained.

The four gods…

And the Demon King.

Shinigami was covered in blood.

But he was still standing.

Kleinor rested on his shoulder.

He smiled.

Zeus was out of breath.

Susanoo was on one knee.

Anubis was bleeding heavily.

Even Odin no longer looked invincible.

Shinigami looked at them and said:

"All this death…"

His smile grew wider.

"Just because you were afraid of me?"

No one answered.

The wind howled through the ruins.

And the final battle approached…

---

The Collapse of the World

The gods were exhausted.

Shinigami could barely stand.

His body was breaking apart, dark smoke leaking from his wounds.

But he was still smiling.

Zeus muttered:

"Why… won't you fall?"

Shinigami laughed.

"Maybe because I'm not done yet."

Suddenly…

The sky went dark.

Not from clouds.

Not from magic.

But from something far heavier.

A presence.

Everyone looked up.

Even Shinigami.

The space split open.

A white tear appeared in the sky.

A woman stepped out.

Long white hair flowing.

Eyes shining like stars.

Kali.

Goddess of death and destruction.

The world went silent.

Zeus whispered:

"She's here…"

Susanoo smiled weakly.

Anubis lowered his head.

But Shinigami…

Only laughed.

Loud and insane.

"HAHAHAHA!"

He lifted Kleinor.

"So you finally came yourself?"

Kali looked at him coldly.

"You've reached the end, Shinigami."

He grinned.

"Maybe."

She took one step forward.

The ground collapsed for hundreds of kilometers.

"Submit."

Shinigami stopped laughing.

His red eyes sharpened.

"Me?"

"You want me to kneel?"

Dark energy exploded around him.

"Never."

Kali sighed.

"As expected."

She raised her hand.

Thousands of magical circles appeared in the sky.

Shining white light blocked out the sun.

Shinigami looked up.

Finally…

"A real opponent."

---

The Final Clash

This wasn't a war anymore.

It was a collision of disasters.

Every swing of Kleinor split the sky.

Every move of Kali rewrote reality.

Mountains vanished.

Oceans evaporated.

Space itself cracked and healed.

Even the gods couldn't get close.

Hours passed…

Days…

No one knew.

Until—

Kleinor broke.

For the first time in history.

The sword shattered.

Shinigami looked at the broken blade.

Then at his own body.

Covered in wounds.

Almost collapsing.

Kali stood in front of him.

She was injured too.

But still standing.

Silence.

Shinigami smiled softly.

"So this is how it ends…"

Kali said nothing.

Light gathered in her hand.

Shinigami closed his eyes.

But in the last moment…

He smiled.

"Don't think this is over."

And the light fell.

The world turned pure white…

And Shinigami disappeared from history.

1000 Years Later...

It had been a thousand years since Shinigami died.

Most people believed his reincarnation would never happen.

But on a dark night, a child was born—and the moment he came into the world, the deep underground world shook.

On the baby's back, there was a mark that looked like a ram's horn.

At that exact moment, the red flame created by the Kain clan to detect Shinigami's reincarnation suddenly ignited, and the howls of deep-underground creatures echoed everywhere.

Akame stared at her child in fear.

Her hands were shaking.

She whispered:

"Atsushi… they know…"

Atsushi sat beside his wife and held her hand.

He looked down at the baby.

"Don't worry. I won't let anyone hurt him."

Tears filled Akame's eyes.

"You promise?"

Atsushi gave a bitter smile.

"Even if I have to give my life."

A few seconds of silence fell between them.

Akame kissed the baby and placed him in Atsushi's arms.

"Then take him… to the surface."

Atsushi lowered his head.

He knew this might be the last time he ever saw his wife.

He squeezed her hand.

"Wait for us."

Akame gave a faint smile.

But both of them already knew—they might never see each other again.

---

At that moment…

A massive удар shattered their home.

The Great Kain, Zailor, entered with his men.

"Where is the boy?"

Without saying a word, Atsushi held the baby tighter and escaped through the back route.

The last thing he heard was Akame's voice:

"Run… Atsushi!"

And then—

The sound of clashing swords.

Atsushi didn't even dare to look back.

He just ran.

For the only thing left from his family…

His son.

Zeno.

Atsushi ran through the massive underground valleys.

He held the baby tightly, glancing at his small face every few moments.

Roars of underground monsters echoed in the distance, and the burning hot air made it hard to breathe.

After hours of running, a faint light finally appeared in the distance—the surface gate.

Atsushi smiled.

"We made it, my son…"

He looked at the baby.

"Just a little more…"

But suddenly his smile disappeared.

Several shadows appeared between the rocks.

Zailor's men.

They blocked the way.

Atsushi stopped.

His hand slowly moved toward his sword.

One of them stepped forward.

"Hand over the chosen one, traitor."

Atsushi held the baby tighter.

"Never."

Silence fell.

Hot wind passed through the canyon.

Atsushi looked down at his son.

The baby was peacefully asleep, unaware of the war around him.

A bitter smile appeared on Atsushi's face.

"You know, Zeno…"

"Your mother and I just wanted a normal life."

A deep breath.

"A small house… no war… no prophecy… no destiny."

His voice shook slightly.

"But the moment you were born, the world decided to turn you into something else."

Tears gathered in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, my son…"

He raised his head.

No fear in his eyes anymore.

Only rage.

He drew his sword.

Steel flashed in the darkness.

"If you want him…"

Flames sparked around the blade.

"You'll have to kill me first."

The enemies smirked.

And the battlefield exploded into silence.

---

Surface World — Near the Demon Gate, Ashin Village

Near the massive Demon Gate stood a small village called Ashin.

There lived an orphan girl named Koronai. She survived by collecting rare herbs near the gate and selling them in small markets.

One day, she went out as usual—but found almost nothing.

"If I go a bit closer… maybe I'll find more…"

She hesitated, then moved toward the gate.

Suddenly she heard the sound of clashing swords.

Curiosity overcame fear.

She approached and peeked through a crack in the stone gate.

Her eyes widened.

A wounded man was fighting two cloaked warriors.

She froze.

She tried to run—

But then she heard a baby crying.

She turned.

A small child wrapped in dark cloth lay beside the wall.

Her heart tightened.

She knew she shouldn't get involved…

But then a voice came from behind the gate:

"Please… save my son… I beg you…"

Koronai froze.

After a moment, she ran toward the gate and grabbed the massive chains, trying to pull them—but it was useless.

The gate didn't move.

Then—

The baby's finger touched the gate.

Suddenly…

All the chains turned red.

One by one, the locks unlocked with a massive sound.

The ancient gate slowly began to open.

Far away, the legendary sword "Kleinor," sealed for a thousand years, began to shake.

A wave of ancient power burst from it.

---

Back at the Gate

Koronai shouted:

"Hurry! The gate is closing!"

Atsushi ran with his last strength.

Only a few steps left…

But suddenly—

A sword pierced through his back.

Blood splashed across the stone.

Atsushi groaned but kept moving.

He pulled the sword out and threw the attacker back.

Then he crossed the gate.

BOOM.

The gate shut behind him.

His wound was deep.

"Go… all of you…"

"I'm staying here."

"GO!"

Koronai ran away with the baby.

---

A few moments later…

Three angels descended.

Their leader, Soma, looked down coldly.

"We are here to eliminate you… Shinigami."

Atsushi smiled weakly.

"So… come on then."

In one move—

His head was cut off.

At that moment, baby Zeno cried loudly in Koronai's arms.

As if he understood something had been lost forever.

The angels confirmed:

"No mistake… this is the Demon King."

They left.

---

Deep underground, Zailor heard the truth.

His fist slammed the throne.

"Damn those half-humans!"

"Why did the lord choose such a body for reincarnation?!"

Then he ordered:

"Wipe out the entire half-human clan!"

That night… they were erased from history.

---

Koronai raised Zeno in a broken wooden house outside the village.

At first, he cried nonstop.

She fed him milk, tried everything—but nothing worked.

Until she stayed beside him all night.

Slowly… she gave up leaving him.

She said softly:

"I won't leave you."

Zeno laughed.

That sound calmed her.

She smiled and stayed.

---

Years passed…

Zeno grew up in the "Silent Desert."

He hunted beasts and shared food with villagers.

Later…

Koronai fell sick.

Zeno gathered herbs every day to save her.

But she slowly faded.

She smiled at him until the end.

"I'll always be with you…"

Then she died.

Zeno held her silently.

And buried her on a hill.

---

After that… he left.

Heading toward the capital: Korgan.

---

And somewhere in Ashin Village…

A burned monster fell from the sky.

A shadow stood on a hill.

"Is that… Zeno?"

The shadow disappeared.

The next morning…

A village shop was gone.

And a voice echoed:

"Zeno! You think I can't reach you?!"
