"Sonaaaaaaaa!" Issei burst through the door with a kick. "Your friend is so mean, she made me agree to an unfair deal!"
Crying, Issei ran over and jumped into Sona's arms like a child jumping into his mother's embrace.
Sona was completely caught off guard and nearly fell backward. Fortunately, she was much stronger than a normal human.
"Hey, let go of Kaichou!" Saji pointed at Issei indignantly.
Issei simply looked at him and stuck out his tongue.
"Oh, you simp. If she's not complaining, then what's the problem?" Issei winked at Saji. "Aaaahhhh, Sonaaaaa, stoooop!"
Issei screamed when he felt pain in his arm. Looking down, he saw that Sona was biting his arm hard.
"Stop, stop!" He let go of Sona and tried to surrender, but she didn't accept it and kept biting him. "I'm the vampire here... Switch roles!"
"Kaichou..." Saji looked devastated by the scene. "See? You irritated her."
Literally, the cold and stoic Student Council President, Sona Sitri, was biting a student while said student screamed in pain.
Saji tried to come up with excuses in his head, but Tsubaki quickly destroyed them.
"It's been a long time since I've seen Sona having this much fun." Tsubaki smiled in amusement, and Tomoe nodded.
"Guys..." Saji looked completely dejected. "Damn you, Hyoudou."
Finally, Sona released her bite and pushed Issei into a chair.
"You got really wild, Sonaa." Issei whined while looking at the arm that had already healed.
"You're the one who barged in and hugged me without permission, you idiot." Sona pointed at Hyoudou. "What the hell happened between you and Rias this time?"
"So, I was desperately trying to save my friend, and Rias made a deal with me to save her, but then she admitted she was going to reincarnate her anyway!" Issei cursed while wildly gesturing. "Now I owe her a favor! Save me, Sonaaaa! I don't want to owe a Gremory anything. She looks like the kind of person who charges absurd interest rates!"
Sona stared at Issei in silence for a few seconds. Then she adjusted her glasses and sighed.
"...That really does sound like something Rias would do."
"You believe me?" Issei raised his head, tears in his eyes.
"I believe that you're stupid enough to fall for something like that."
"Cruelty!" Issei slammed the table, feeling as though his heart had been pierced.
Tsubaki let out a small laugh.
"But looking on the bright side..." she commented, "your friend is alive, isn't she?"
Issei immediately deflated.
"...Yeah."
"And she'll be reincarnated anyway?"
"...Yeah."
Sona rested her elbow on the table and placed her cheek on her hand.
"Then technically, all you lost was one favor."
"ONE FAVOR?!" Issei jumped out of his chair. "Do you know how scary Rias is? She smiles like an angel, but deep down she's a loan shark!"
Tomoe burst into laughter.
"A loan shark?"
"Yes! She looks like the kind of person who says, 'You owe me a favor,' and then a hundred years later shows up demanding one of your kidneys!"
Saji nearly choked.
"You're exaggerating!"
"I'm being cautious!"
Sona massaged her forehead.
"First of all, devils don't collect kidneys."
"You don't know that! Maybe it's a Gremory tradition!"
"It isn't."
"You sound awfully confident about that..."
Tsubaki decided to change the subject before the conversation became even more absurd.
"And what exactly do you want the president to do?"
Issei immediately stood up and grabbed Sona's hands.
"Protect me! Hide me! Fake my death! Send me to another country!"
"No."
The answer came so quickly that he froze.
"...Not even the other country part?"
"Especially not that part."
"Betrayal..."
"But... but..." Issei started crying.
(Partner, stop crying and accept your fate.) Ddraig spoke in his mind.
-It's your fault for getting tricked by a devil.- Vlad replied.
-You're just unlucky, kid.- Satanta added.
'Whose fault is that supposed to be?' Issei replied to Satanta.
"But why did you ask Rias for help and not me?" Sona seemed genuinely bothered, even though she tried to hide it.
"Oh? I think I sense a little jealousy there. My dear Sona, you're the only—"
Issei stopped when he saw the murderous look Sona gave him.
"I didn't ask her. She was the one watching me fight the Fallen Angel."
"Wait... You fought a Fallen Angel?" Sona's eyes widened and she grabbed Issei.
"Wait, wait! I don't want to lose my virginity here!" Issei shouted in shock.
"Shut up, idiot... Are you hurt?" Sona asked as she inspected his body. "Vampires are extremely weak to light just like devils... Did the Fallen hit you with light? Were you poisoned?"
Issei stopped joking when he saw that Sona was genuinely worried.
He placed his hands on her shoulders.
"Don't worry, Sona. I'm not hurt."
In truth, he had been badly injured, but his Dead Apostle regeneration had healed him.
"And Rias watched everything and did nothing?" Sona looked genuinely angry now, and Issei suddenly felt bad for Rias.
"It wasn't a big deal. She didn't need to act, but I'm sure if things had gotten serious, she would have stepped in." Issei smiled. "Since she can't reincarnate me, she wouldn't be able to look you in the eye if I died."
"It's not the first time she's done something like this," Sona grumbled and then hugged Issei. "I'm glad you're okay."
"I love you too," Issei said while moving his hands down her back.
"Sonaaaaaaaa!"
Issei screamed in pain when Sona bit him again, this time even harder and refusing to let go.
