Chapter 189 - Chapter 189: Infiltrating into Alexander's "Decapitation Operation"

After driving northwest for nearly 30 minutes, Shawn suddenly realized he didn't need to bother looking for Alexandria's location.

Because right by the roadside in the jungle, there was a sign standing prominently.

"Ahead Kuta (crossed out) -- Alexandria, Welcome All"

Shawn turned his head, exchanging a speechless glance with the others, while Merle simply snickered.

"The people here really live it up, they even put up a sign."

"Shawn, I finally understand why you could get news of this Community from two or three states away."

"With them playing like this, it's hard for them not to be discovered."

At this moment, Daryl also leaned slightly towards Shawn, speaking in his deep, magnetic voice.

"Maybe this time we'll have to teach them what the outside world is like, and what they should do themselves."

"Otherwise, they'll end up killing themselves!"

"Good idea."

Shawn nodded.

When others put up signs, they had ulterior motives.

Only when Alexandria put up a sign, Shawn truly believed they had good intentions.

Shawn even blindly guessed that perhaps it was because of this desperate mode of attracting survivors that some irreversible problems occurred.

That's why Aaron was later selected to wander in the wild, searching for survivors whose souls hadn't been devoured by Walkers.

Following the direction indicated on the sign, the group drove for about 7 or 8 kilometers, and sure enough, they saw Alexandria's tall walls.

From inside, faint but clear sounds of clanging and knocking could be heard occasionally.

This caused a group of Walkers to start gathering outside their steel plate high walls, scratching at the metal plating in the direction of the sound.

The fire truck slowly reduced its speed and stopped about 500 meters outside the Community.

Two or three Walkers approaching Alexandria noticed it and came forward, wanting to pull at the car door.

But when they were 50 centimeters from the vehicle, their legs were pierced by spikes, pinning them and preventing them from moving.

Inside the car, the approach of a few Walkers did not attract Shawn's attention; he was only staring in the direction of Alexandria.

In fact, he had already thought of how to teach Alexandria and Diana a lesson.

People teaching people might take hundreds of times, but events teaching people might only take once.

So Shawn decided to take a few people to carry out a 'decapitation operation' on Alexandria.

In broad daylight, under the clear sky and scorching sun, Shawn wanted to quietly 'take out' the important figures inside Alexandria at that moment.

And before they could react, he would package them up and throw them in a place where they would surely be discovered.

At this time, the high wall had already been built; climbing from the inside out was easy because there were pillars supporting it internally.

But trying to climb from the outside in was much more difficult.

This high wall was designed by Diana's husband, Reggie; the entire outer wall was smooth and flat, tall, and easy to defend but hard to attack.

The only obvious flaw now was probably that the internal pillars had not yet been fully perfected, and the wall itself was not that sturdy.

So, as several Walkers pounded on the outer wall, the wall still swayed slightly.

Once the pillars were in place, it might not be able to stop survivors, but at least keeping the Walkers out would be no problem.

Shawn had Tallahassee drive the car into a secluded spot in the grass nearby; the group got out and hid their weapons in another location.

It wasn't good for high-level individuals to bully low-level ones, so Shawn decided to increase the difficulty for himself; on this trip, besides himself, he wouldn't bring any lethal weapons.

That is to say, for this 'decapitation operation,' Shawn intended to take people to capture Alexandria's people bare-handed.

Arriving at the high wall on the rear side, there were no Walkers gathered here.

Daryl climbed a tree and could see the houses behind the wall, which happened to conceal their movements.

Shawn held a shovel, steadily and powerfully plunging it into the soil, scooping up a large clump of earth.

Since climbing the high wall was not an option, it was better to dig underground directly.

From inside to out, from top to bottom.

Alexandria was almost full of loopholes, permeable everywhere.

The high wall was merely a facade, only capable of stopping brainless Walkers or survivors who harbored no ill intentions.

If it were night, Shawn, wearing a 'stalker suit,' could even find a way to walk in through the main gate openly.

With Shawn's ability to destroy blocks, he dug for about 15 minutes and created an underground passage that led into Alexandria.

Shawn turned to Daryl and nodded, entering first.

After crossing the high wall underground, what came into view was a building with white painted walls.

There was no smell of blood on the building's paint; separated by a high wall, everything seemed to be as it once was.

Shawn gently tapped the wall with the back of his hand; Daryl crawled out of the underground passage, followed closely by Merle and Tallahassee.

Tallahassee, having spent so much time with the Dixon Brothers, seemed to have learned to be more cautious and clever.

He roughly pulled out a calf-high sapling planted in the inner courtyard, filling it over the underground passage behind him, then casually smoothed the original spot of the sapling with his foot.

However, Daryl looked at him, then at the sapling's original spot, and couldn't help but sigh, going over to help him refine it.

Tallahassee had the right idea, but his technique could definitely be more polished.

"Go home, go home, okay, kid?"

Having been outdone by Tallahassee at the gas station last time, Merle wasn't about to miss this chance.

Tallahassee snorted, casting a displeased glance at Merle, then silently turned back to help Daryl cover the tracks.

Shawn watched them finish, then lowered his voice and spoke.

"The Walkers are knocking on the door outside right now; they clearly have no intention of dealing with them, but it's perfect for covering our movements."

"Daryl, do you remember how we did it last time when we went to Woodbury?"

Daryl remained silent, only nodding slightly.

"Good, we'll search for their main building where the high-ranking officials are, just like last time, but this time we'll split up."

Thus, Shawn assigned the Dixon Brothers together, while he himself teamed up with Tallahassee.

There was no other way; Merle and the others couldn't keep Tallahassee in check, so Shawn decided to oversee him personally.

Before they finally separated, Shawn instructed:

"Regardless of whether we find anyone, we'll eventually gather at the same location under the high wall on the opposite side, using this spot as the center line."

As his words fell, the 'decapitation operation' officially began.

The two teams advanced in two directions; when they finished searching their respective semi-circular areas, they would coincidentally meet on the opposite side.

Shawn led Tallahassee, skillfully climbing over the fences in the backyards of houses.

However, Shawn's practiced demeanor made Tallahassee unable to resist asking:

"Have you been here before? Why do you seem so familiar with this place?"
