Stepping away from the voracious whispers of the crowd, Severine slid into a quiet alcove near the service stairwell.
She pulled her phone from the deep pocket of her overcoat. She didn't hesitate, dialing a direct, encrypted line back to the capital.
The call was answered on the very first ring.
[Boss?] Samuel's voice echoed back.
"Sam, I need you to contact the central authorities immediately," Severine said, "File an official, high-priority police report for a coordinated assault and narcotics violation at The Solitude Ridge Resort.
Instruct the legal department to bypass the local provincial precinct and route it directly through the capital's high command. I want a forensics unit dispatched to my assigned suite."
On the other end, the rhythmic clicking of a keyboard instantly ceased.
Samuel didn't ask questions. He simply absorbed the gravity of her tone before setting to work.
The call ended within two minutes.
