For what felt like the hundredth time since waking, she was forced to acknowledge the humiliating truth that he was absolutely right.
The realization only made her glare harder.
Thessian, however, remained completely unmoved. Whether he had deliberately ignored her or had genuinely begun drifting back toward sleep, she could no longer tell.
Finally, she let out another long, dramatic huff before sinking carefully against the pillows.
"I'll remember this," she muttered with all the determination of someone already planning revenge.
A quiet laugh reached her from the other side of the bed.
Without even turning around, Thessian answered in a voice filled with unmistakable amusement.
"I know you will."
