She looked back at him with obvious disbelief.
"If Father finds you here..."
She swallowed.
"They'll arrest you."
A deep frown settled across her face as she hurriedly looked around the chamber again, clearly searching for some means of helping him escape before anyone discovered his presence.
"You have to leave," she said urgently, lowering her voice even further despite the obvious pain every movement caused her.
"If the King and Queen find you inside the palace..."
She looked directly into his eyes.
"They'll kill you."
The words left Liora's lips almost instinctively, carrying a quiet urgency that immediately transformed her expression.
Whatever confusion had clouded her eyes since waking was abruptly replaced by alarm as her gaze moved quickly around the chamber, lingering first on the heavy doors before shifting toward the tall windows that overlooked the palace grounds.
