Chapter 307 - Chapter 307: You Won’t Live Another Ten Minutes!

Luke thought Tianna's idea made sense. When something like this appeared, its first use would naturally be how to strengthen the nation.

Although the Secret Key would sooner or later be released to the public, that time was not now.

Luke was not worried about the Secret Key leaking. The thing itself did not matter much even if it leaked, since the Secret Key was only the carrier.

What truly mattered was the Dreamnet behind it.

That was the top priority.

Even in the worst-case scenario, if a Secret Key fell into the hands of criminals or even an enemy nation, without Dreamnet, they would never be able to crack it in their lifetime.

That was also why Luke had directly called everyone over and revealed it after the research succeeded.

At noon, everyone left the Mage Association.

After returning to Luke's courtyard, the first thing Lux did was open the personal information panel on her Secret Key and change the hidden note Luke had set for her, "idiot."

Looking at the blank name box, Lux thought for a moment, then raised her hand and typed in her own name, Luxanna Crownguard.

But before confirming it, she deleted the whole thing.

Thinking about Luke's naming style, Lux felt hers was a little too serious.

So she tilted her head and thought for a while, then raised her hand and typed another few words into the box, Demacia's Number One Beauty.

The moment that line appeared, she deleted it too.

It was a little too embarrassing.

Although that guy Luke could call himself Demacia's Number One Handsome Guy, why could she, the great Lux, not call herself Demacia's Number One Beauty?

But after thinking it over, she concluded that the difference between the two of them was that she had shame.

Sitting in the chair with her chin propped on her hand, Lux found herself stumped.

What kind of name should she choose?

Looking around, the living room was filled with the same scene.

Whether it was Fiora, Sona, Kahina, or even Yurna, all of them had stopped at the naming step.

Luke was far too familiar with this. As far as he knew, most people basically had trouble choosing names.

One username after another flashed through the mind. This one was embarrassing, that one sounded bad, and in the end, they still could not come up with one they wanted.

This sort of thing really did take some time.

In the early stage, the Secret Keys would be used by their own people, so naturally, Luke gave one to everyone around him.

After a while, Lux suddenly moved. She typed a few words with quick taps, then said, "I've decided! Let's add each other as friends!"

Seeing that she had already decided, the other girls stopped hesitating and made their choices too.

Kahina was the first to say, "Add me. My number is 7."

"Okay."

Lux nodded and sent a request over.

Soon, a message popped up on Kahina's screen. "Smartest One in the Room has requested to add you as a friend. Accept?"

"This is what you decided on?"

Kahina could not help laughing when she saw it.

"Yeah," Lux replied.

Luke leaned over and glanced at Kahina's screen, clicking his tongue as he said, "As the saying goes, whatever a person lacks most is what they emphasize the most."

As soon as he finished speaking, Lux's unfriendly gaze had already landed on him. After letting out a humph, she rewarded him with an eye roll and ignored him.

She saw that Kahina's chosen name was "Kinda Hungry, Honestly," and immediately could not help laughing.

To be honest, Kahina was also quite the foodie.

Fiora then said, "My number is 4."

Very soon, she received Lux's friend request and tapped accept.

Lux, on her end, glanced at Fiora's name and laughed again. "Miss Duelist named herself 'Not Miss Duelist,' haha."

Hearing that name, Luke remembered something and looked toward Fiora, just as Fiora happened to look over too.

The two shared a knowing smile.

He remembered that back when they first met at the swordsmanship enthusiasts' training camp, Fiora's "username" had been this.

Soon, Kahina also sent Fiora a friend request.

"What about Sona? Number 5, right?"

After confirming it, Kahina sent the request over.

Once Sona accepted, Lux suddenly thought of something. Her eyes lit up. "Right, doesn't this mean we can chat normally with Sona from now on?"

When they chatted normally, Sona rarely participated, because most of the time, they could not understand her words right away.

But now that they had the Secret Key, they could also receive her words immediately.

Sona nodded with a smile, her watery eyes filled with joy at this moment.

She especially loved this function. From now on, she could use the Secret Key to express what she wanted to say.

The name she chose was a more proper one, "Chord of the Heart," but it also showed that she really did love music and the etwahl.

The last one left was Yurna. Her username was quite unique, because she simply called herself "Yurna."

Not even the slightest flourish.

But it suited her personality very well.

Next were Quinn and Poppy, who were currently on their way back. It would not be too late to add them once they returned.

After everyone added one another as friends, a strange scene appeared.

They were clearly sitting face to face, yet every one of them was using the Secret Key to chat, and none of them found it troublesome.

Seeing this, Luke did not blame them. After all, if it were him and he had just come into contact with a phone for the first time, he would probably do the same.

After chatting for a while, Lux realized a problem and asked, "Is there nothing that lets everyone see the messages together, without having to keep switching back to private chat boxes every time?"

When Luke heard this, he nodded. "There is."

Lux was stunned at first, then asked, "What is it?"

"It's called a group chat. There should be a function for it. You can pull several people directly into one shared chat box, and that way everyone can see the messages at the same time."

Luke flipped through the options and found the create group chat function.

Naturally, he would not have missed something like this.

When the girls heard that, they immediately lowered their heads and started chatting again.

Luke waited for a while but did not see any group chat invitation. He keenly sensed that something was wrong and looked up. "Did you all secretly make a group without inviting me?"

Lux raised her head and glanced at him. "Why would a girls' group chat invite a guy like you?"

Luke fell silent.

So they were forming a little clique, were they?

It was obvious. He had been isolated.

The girls chatted enthusiastically, and they would not even let him see what the topic was. When Luke tried to lean closer for a look, they dodged him as if guarding against a pervert, then shot him wary looks.

Luke kept feeling that they were secretly badmouthing him in the group chat, which was why they did not dare let him see the contents.

Fine. He would not look.

Luke got up indignantly and went out into the courtyard alone, planning to lie down for a while.

The weather outside was very nice. It was neither hot nor cold, and a breeze stirred from time to time.

When the breeze blew, brushing across his face, it was hard to describe just how comfortable it felt.

The rising breeze soothed Luke's wounded heart after being isolated.

As he lay there, he gradually grew sleepy. With the Secret Key resting on his chest, he fell asleep before long.

After an unknown amount of time, he was suddenly startled awake by a buzzing vibration.

After waking up, he found that it was the Secret Key on his chest. It seemed he had received a message.

He yawned while opening the Secret Key panel and looked up. There, he saw an eye-catching request message.

"Invincible Golden Shiny Thunder Hammer of the Cosmos has requested to add you as a friend. Accept?"

Luke raised an eyebrow and shouted toward the house, "Poppy, change that awful name!"

"Oh, does it not sound good?"

Poppy's aggrieved voice came from inside the house. It seemed everyone was not very optimistic about that name of hers.

After thinking about it, she still changed the name to "Yordle with a Hammer."

That one looked much more normal.

Luke lay back down and continued resting his mind. Suddenly, another message popped up on the panel.

Overtime Demon: Luke, can you receive this? I'm in the palace right now.

This should be Jarvan IV. Luke raised his hand and sent a message back. "I can. What's up, Jarvan?"

Jarvan IV quickly replied. "Nothing. I'm just testing whether this Secret Key works. It really does."

He did not seem to be in overtime mode at all. Clearly, he was having a lot of fun with the Secret Key.

Before long, someone named "Live Laugh Prosper" sent another message. "I see there is also something called Moments here. What does it mean?"

Luke glanced at the other party's number, then replied, "Father, Moments is used to share your daily life. The crystal has an image-recording function. I call it taking a photo. You can save whatever image the crystal reflects, then upload it to Moments."

"Oh, I understand."

Live Laugh Prosper replied.

Before long, the first post lit up in Luke's Moments.

It was a picture of the palace's rear garden, paired with a sentence from Live Laugh Prosper. "Flowers bloom again, but people can never return to their youth."

A short while later, replies began appearing one after another beneath Live Laugh Prosper's post.

Overtime Demon: Well said, Father. Thumbs up, thumbs up.

Nothing But Trouble Every Day: Your Majesty said it so well. It really makes me miss my younger days.

Battlefield Belle: Though that may be true, Your Majesty is not old even now. The garden scenery is lovely.

Demacia's Number One Handsome Guy: Tagging Battlefield Belle. Auntie, that name of yours, haha.

Battlefield Belle: ? Got a problem with it?

Smartest One in the Room: Tagging Battlefield Belle. Auntie, this brat says he's laughing so hard his stomach hurts!!

Battlefield Belle: I'll be there in ten minutes.

Overtime Demon: Tagging Demacia's Number One Handsome Guy. Luke, you'd better run. I just saw the Marshal fly past my office door.

There were still a pile of replies below, but Luke could no longer keep reading.

The smile on his face disappeared little by little, and the hateful face of the little blonde flashed through his mind.

He immediately got up and rushed into the house. Sure enough, he saw Lux looking at him with a smug, triumphant expression, her eyes full of provocation.

That look was clearly saying, "You won't live past the next ten minutes!"

Facts proved that one should not casually mock another person's username, because doing so could very likely earn them a vicious beating.

After Luke suffered this loss, he became much more obedient from then on.

At this moment, in the Spirit Realm.

Nocturne was lying like a salted fish on a mass of gas formed from white clouds. His demon life had suddenly lost its goal, leaving him without even a trace of energy.

He did not want to move. He did not want to go anywhere. He did not want to do anything.

Right now, he was just like that prince, completely lying flat.

Time passed minute by minute. Suddenly, a strange sensation reached Nocturne's heart, making even his chest jolt.

This feeling was somewhat mysterious. Although it vanished in an instant, it still made him slowly sit up and search for its source.

In the end, he discovered that it seemed to come from Dreamnet.

The Dreamnet he had helped that prince set up seemed to already have many people using it.

He waited patiently for a while, but that sensation did not appear again. Even so, Nocturne knew what he had felt just now had not been an illusion.

That gave him a feeling almost like constipation.

He clearly felt as if something was just a tiny bit away, but no matter what, it refused to come out.

It made him feel uncomfortably stuck. Nocturne raised his head and let out a furious roar, frightening the surrounding spirits so badly that none dared show themselves.

Only after venting did Nocturne finally calm down.

That damned prince. Because of him, who knew how much grievance Nocturne had suffered?

He lay back in his original place and sighed, unable to muster any energy at all.

In the blink of an eye, the next day arrived.

May 10th.

Luke woke early, went into the courtyard, and began practicing Vitality Arts.

While bored, he also silently said in his heart, "Sign in."

[Sign-in successful.]

[Congratulations, host. You have received an Intermediate Skill Upgrade Card.]

[Congratulations, host. You have received one year's worth of magic power.]

This reward drew a bit of Luke's interest.

He focused his attention on the second reward, and a system prompt immediately popped up. "Claim one year's worth of magic power?"

He did not think too much about it and clicked claim.

In an instant, he felt as if a basin of cold water had been poured over his head, making his whole body turn cold. But immediately afterward, a warm sensation surged through him, like hot spring water flowing through the meridians of his limbs.

It was a very subtle feeling, and actually quite comfortable.

At the same time, Luke also keenly sensed that the magic power in his body had actually begun to grow slowly.

After a long while, he finally understood what "one year's worth of magic power" meant.

It turned out that after claiming it, he could directly obtain the effect of cultivating magic power for one year.

In other words, Luke at this moment was equivalent to someone who had already cultivated magic power for a year. The amount of magic power stored in his body had increased somewhat.

Magic power and mental force both affected the strength of spells. Both were extremely important, and they were even closely connected.

After his magic power increased, if Luke's previous level allowed him to cast Fireball three times in a row, then now he could cast it six times in a row.

It had almost doubled.

Naturally, this reward was quite good.

After that sensation faded, the magic capacity within Luke's body had been strengthened.

Once he finished Vitality Arts, he lay back down on the rocking chair and opened the Secret Key for a look.

As expected, there was a huge pile of messages, especially in Moments.

After everyone figured out how to use it, it was basically chiming every now and then.

Naturally, Luke had turned off the Secret Key when he slept last night. Out of boredom, he flipped through Moments and saw many familiar people.

Tianna, Augatha, Roy, Wenward, Navis.

Basically, no matter who it was, everyone had a rather excellent experience with the Secret Key.

A tool that ignored distance yet still allowed people to communicate with one another, the convenience it could bring to life was completely unimaginable.
