[System rewards have been stored in the system inventory. Host, please check and claim them yourself.]
A long string of notifications sounded one after another, leaving Luke, who had just woken up in bed, slightly stunned.
He glanced at the calendar and muttered, "So today is my birthday."
His voice was very low, but it was not hard to hear.
Beside him, a graceful figure sat up. First, she yawned sleepily. Then she opened her beautiful eyes and looked over. "Today is your birthday?"
Fiora had nothing on, and her snowy, alluring figure was displayed right in front of Luke.
Normally, if Luke saw this sight, he would absolutely have to proclaim a man's dignity on the spot.
Unfortunately, he had spent too much energy last night, leaving both his mental state and his physical state somewhat limp right now.
"Something like that."
Hearing her question, Luke nodded in response.
Fiora frowned at once. "Why didn't you say so ahead of time?"
"I was busy and forgot."
Luke answered casually.
In truth, he had not even known about this himself. If the system had not reminded him, he would not have known that today was his birthday.
"I really don't know what goes through your head all day."
Fiora shot him an annoyed glance, then began searching for her clothes on the bed and putting them on one by one.
Before long, she had finished dressing and climbed out of bed. Then, all of a sudden, she held Luke's face in both hands and leaned in.
It was not lingering, just a light touch.
"Consider that your birthday present."
The corners of her lips curved into a smile, and her moving eyes shimmered faintly.
Luke said, "Then I have birthdays every day?"
"In any case, happy birthday."
Fiora's eyes were full of affection as she turned and walked outside.
She had to think about what birthday gift she should prepare for this guy. The main issue was that the news had come too suddenly, leaving even her unprepared.
Then again, thinking about it, this guy seemed to lack nothing right now.
He ate well every day, drank well every day, slept well every day, and aside from lacking a bit of decency, he really did not seem to be missing anything.
Having to suddenly prepare a gift for him made Fiora feel somewhat troubled.
Inside the room.
Luke stretched lazily.
He actually wanted to lie down a little longer, but after remembering that today was his birthday, he did not keep lazing around in bed.
After getting dressed, he went downstairs and simply washed up, but he did not see Fiora.
Who knew where she had gone?
Maybe she had gone to prepare a gift. Should he pretend to be surprised and play along later?
"Good morning."
Thinking about that, Luke leisurely walked into the yard and first greeted Yurna, who was watering the flowers.
After that, he slowly began practicing Vitality Arts.
His body had been getting better and better lately. Practicing Vitality Arts for so long had indeed proven effective. During field testing, paired with Conqueror, he was practically a war god, no longer afraid of failing to get back up.
As he practiced, he also had spare attention to study the rewards he had just received from the check-in.
The first was the Realm Advancement Card. This was a good thing, mainly used to raise his upper limit. Luke used it without the slightest hesitation.
[Realm Advancement Card used successfully.]
[Congratulations, host. Your realm has advanced to the Holy White stage.]
The system's two voices sounded. Luke only felt a tingling sensation spread through his body, while inside, it was as though a warm spring flowed slowly through his limbs and meridians.
It was extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, that feeling did not last long.
However, once it passed, Luke's strength had increased considerably again.
Reaching the Holy White stage meant that Luke's body had broken through the limits of the Dauntless stage and could become even stronger.
This was crucial.
After feeling out his strengthened body, Luke had also just about finished practicing Vitality Arts.
Lux and the others had not arrived yet, and he was in no hurry to prepare breakfast. So he lay down on a rocking chair and leisurely basked in the morning sun of May.
Meanwhile, his mind turned to the second reward.
"Use Basic Magic Comprehension."
[Used successfully.]
With a command in his mind, the system quickly responded.
All at once, a great deal of basic introductory knowledge related to magic appeared in Luke's mind.
Before this, Luke had never studied magic. Even though Demacia had gained more and more mages during this period, he had never thought in that direction.
With his current talent, perhaps he could start practicing magic from scratch.
However, Luke had always been too lazy to do so.
Today's check-in had saved him the effort. The reward directly turned Luke into a beginner magic apprentice.
The current Luke, in terms of magical strength, probably could not compare to even one strand of the little blonde's hair.
Still, it was better than nothing. After all, this was a free reward from the system.
Luke looked directly at the third reward, and his eyes lit up. He had just become a magic apprentice, and the system had immediately thrown in a spell.
[Detected learnable high-tier skill, Fireball LV3. Learn?]
"Learn."
Luke immediately answered in his mind, rather curious about this high-tier skill.
In an instant, he felt a strange reaction crackle inside his body for a brief moment. At the same time, the method for using Fireball was transmitted into Luke's mind.
Just from the name, Fireball was most likely a magic skill.
If he only knew the method of use, Luke would not be able to cast it, since there was no magic power in his body.
Perhaps there was, but Luke had not known how to discover it, which was no different from having none.
However, Basic Magic Comprehension taught Luke how to draw out the magic power inside his body, how to use it, and how to train it.
After thinking for a moment, Luke snapped the fingers of his right hand. With a snap, a flame suddenly sprang up about a finger's width from his fingertip.
His eyes brightened. Everything about using magic for the first time felt novel.
If he threw this flame out, it would become a fireball.
Fireball only told Luke how to release a fireball. It did not tell him how to freely control flames.
That probably cost extra.
But even if it was only this one spell, Luke was already quite satisfied.
After thinking for a moment, Luke directly used all the skill upgrade cards from this system check-in on Fireball.
[Used successfully. Fireball has been upgraded to LV7.]
The system responded.
Luke felt the magic power inside his body suddenly increase as if it were multiplying rapidly. He wanted to see what effect an LV7 Fireball had.
So he directly entered the training ground and did not summon a training clone.
Luke recalled the method of using Fireball. As he raised his hand, his magic power had already begun circulating. He could actually feel the magic power inside him surging.
In front of his hand, a fireball appeared. Like a black hole, it absorbed and pulled in the surrounding air, or perhaps the magic in the air.
And it was expanding at an extremely fast speed. In the blink of an eye, it had become the size of half an ordinary person's body.
At that moment, Luke felt as though his arm had become a cannon barrel. As long as he pulled the trigger, the shell would be fired.
"Boom!"
With a thought, the fireball instantly erupted with a roar. Like a cannon shell being launched, it carried a massive wave of flame and shot violently forward.
At this moment, Luke was simulating a modern city. The direction he aimed at was a bus, and the fireball actually pierced straight through the bus's steel body. Immediately after that, it pierced through the wall behind the bus as well, and only then did it explode with an earth-shaking boom, instantly detonating everything within five meters.
Luke looked at the scene with a thoughtful expression.
The damage of this Fireball was not low.
Although the casting motion was a little slow, both its launch speed and explosive damage clearly showed that this was no ordinary fireball.
And this was only LV7. Supposedly, LV9 Fireball would undergo a qualitative change.
Most importantly, the damage of Fireball also depended on the magic power inside Luke's body and his mental force.
He had not specialized in magic before. No matter how one put it, right now he was just a magic apprentice who had barely entered the door.
If, in the future, the magic power inside him became denser and his mental force, or willpower, became stronger, the damage Fireball could unleash would only become even higher.
Although the name sounded like a trash starter skill from a game, its effect was unexpectedly good.
Luke left the training ground and continued checking the next reward.
A random secondary profession card.
"System, use the Random Secondary Profession Card."
[Used successfully.]
[Congratulations, host. You have obtained secondary profession, Alchemist LV6.]
All at once, a massive amount of knowledge poured into Luke's mind. This long-absent feeling made Luke close his eyes and begin seriously absorbing the information in his head.
Only after a while did he open his eyes.
This Alchemist profession was also a fairly good secondary profession.
As the name suggested, it was a secondary profession for concocting potions.
At first glance, it seemed to overlap with Luke's medical skills. After all, his current max-level medical skill made such things easy.
But there was a misunderstanding here.
An alchemist could also concoct healing potions, but the scope of the profession went far beyond that.
Including healing potions, alchemists could also create speed potions, strength potions, vision potions, skin-brightening potions, and all kinds of other varied potions.
Their effects were naturally the same as their names. After drinking a speed potion, one's speed would increase for a short period of time. A strength potion could increase strength.
However, concocting these potions required a great deal of pharmacological knowledge. It also required some special materials, such as the fur and teeth of magical beasts, or flowers and plants that were not medicine in the usual sense.
As it happened, all of these things existed in this blooming world of Runeterra.
For some simple potions, the advantage was that as long as there were enough materials, they could be produced without limit.
Luke certainly was not willing to spend that effort himself, but he could share the potion formulas he had mastered with Frey.
Incidentally, Frey was now the chairwoman of the Mage Association.
Two weeks ago, the Mage Department had officially been renamed the Mage Association, and the newly appointed chairwoman of the association was none other than Frey.
Even though, before this, she had been a Freljordian.
But during this period, everyone had seen both her dedication and her performance.
After Lux proposed stepping down, Sona, who was away in another city doing charity performances, also brought up the same idea. Both of them willingly gave their position to Frey.
Naturally, Jarvan III was happy to fulfill everyone's wishes and approved Frey's position as chairwoman of the Mage Association.
She had many matters to keep her busy now, but since she was already busy with so many things, adding potion production would not make much difference.
Besides, that matter could also be handed to the people under her.
For now, Luke kept this matter in mind and then checked the next system reward.
A birthday cake at the rare treasure level, thoughtfully gifted by the system.
That could not help but make Luke want to take it out and have a look right now.
However, he still held back. Thinking that there was no rush, he decided it would not be too late to take it out later.
The final reward was a piece of equipment.
"Chain Mail."
Out of curiosity, Luke directly took it out to examine it.
This was a piece of chain mail made from tightly connected silver scales. They were close together, yet still had fine gaps between them. Its texture was smooth and slightly cool to the touch.
It was like a piece of soft armor. It was not rigid and could not change shape.
Luke directly stood up and personally tried it on. Once the chain mail was fitted around his body, there was not the slightest discomfort. It felt like wearing an undergarment, without the feeling of being occasionally jabbed or pressed by hard armor.
This chain mail was equipment produced by the system, so its defensive power naturally went without saying.
As long as it did not get in the way when worn, Luke did not mind wearing it on his body every day like a layer of real silk.
With that, he finished checking all the system rewards.
Overall, Luke had gained quite a lot.
At this moment, he opened his eyes and looked at the sky, which had already begun turning blue. There was not a single cloud or rosy streak at the horizon, but the color of the sky was exceptionally beautiful.
The temperature in May had thoroughly warmed up, and one could even start to feel the heat.
The air was especially quiet. From the trees came the occasional chirping of birds. A gentle wind blew past, carrying warm sunlight down with it.
Luke felt inexplicably sentimental.
Without realizing it, it was already May.
It had already been more than a year since he came to this world.
He could still think back to what things had been like more than a year ago, and even those memories remained clear.
Now, his life had undergone a tremendous change.
A leisurely, carefree life really was not bad.
Luke was now living the life he had always dreamed of, eating and drinking every day without a worry.
But behind this seemingly trouble-free life, there had always been hidden things that faintly caused concern.
Luke suddenly thought that Runeterra was so vast, yet there were still many places he had never gone to see.
Most importantly, although Demacia seemed to have now welcomed stability, and even the flaw of magic suppression had been completely corrected, in truth, there were still many problems that had not been resolved.
It was about time to make preparations and settle all those problems one by one.
