Chapter 45 - 44. Togetherness

Summer turns to spring, from spring to autumn, autumn ends in winter. The axis of time spins without ceasing. The sunlight never stops illuminating the earth like a theater stage—showing characters with roles, and different expressions. As the years pass, other natures begin to emerge.

Some worsen, the worsened improve. In the last ten years much has happened. Fortunately it passed well. The underworld growing busier, the demon race increasing since the migration, and imports and exports between demons and humans proceeding peacefully. An impossible thing like demons conversing with humans is indeed real.

But whatever it is, they do not know that the Demon King exists and that the seven great demons are not a legend. Rumors regarding the birth of a new great demon have even been buried, there is no more discussion after Niel silenced them. The culprit, a little girl who is now grown up, at the academy, destroys anything that stands in the way. A woman's anger indeed comes quickly.

Leviathan? He doesn't care. Since the princess—Violet, entered the academy at age seven, there are no longer many students being bullied. The entire academy knows her as a lioness with a beautiful face. Remembering her makes Leviathan purse his lips.

"What is it with you, Sir?" A soft voice echoes beside Leviathan who is sitting on a rock.

Leviathan turns, "Since when have you been there?"

Violet smiles, "Since you smiled."

Leviathan stands, jumping down from atop the rock. "It has been ten years since the demon power entered you. How is it?"

Violet clenches her fist in the air, "Good! Thanks to you teaching me. Doing bare-knuckle punches is no longer a problem." She pats the muscle of her right arm.

"Hey!" Matthius, who was fighting a three-headed monster, snorts while turning, "You turned my little sister into my other little sister!"

"Stop your nonsense!"

"Agh—damn!" Matthius leaps to avoid a burst of fire from the creature controlled by Karya. "Do you want to kill me?"

"Kill you? I wouldn't even deign to touch your hair."

Matthius, who is twenty years old, with a dashing and handsome build, draws his sword, recalling all the lessons he has gotten from Leviathan. Ten years training under that monster is no small matter. Several times it was like he plunged into the jaws of death.

"Hey!"

Matthius quickly turns, seeing a ray of light from the mouth of the three-headed monster aimed at him, and it unintentionally coincides with his little sister's position. With lightning speed his light darts, stance and sword drawn steady. But, too late! The light is faster than his step.

Boom!

The sound of tree trunks cracking is heard, fallen leaves scattering together with dust. Looking at the ground, it is no longer land, but a huge hole. Nothing remains. The three-headed monster that was fighting is destroyed. Karya is stunned. What other being has power this great if not 'him'!

"Are you alright?" Leviathan asks Violet, who is taking shelter behind him.

Violet is still with her smile, "Mm, I'm fine."

"It's over. That monster should not have disturbed another monster far stronger than it." Matthius murmurs.

"Sir...!" Karya jumps closer with teary eyes. "Forgive me..."

Violet looks at Karya with dislike, "So careless."

Karya glances sidelong at Violet, "Huh," She turns her face away, moving closer more intensely to Leviathan.

"It's fine. It's not your fault. It's his fault." Leviathan glances at Matthius who stands silent with a golden shining sword. "That stupid crown prince is the problem."

"Hah...? You're blaming me? Clearly..."

"Lame brother."

Like being struck by a tremendous bolt of lightning in broad daylight, Matthius for a moment turns to stone. "Vivi..." He puts on a sad expression before shaking his head and approaching after cutting off the call with the sword named Exlibur. "I've always wondered, how do you deflect all my attacks? You... are immune to all magic, right?"

"I can use it." Right then Leviathan demonstrates light magic, making Matthius surprised.

"Hha, so it's already impossible to defeat you, huh."

"No," Leviathan extinguishes his magic, "Defeating me is an easy thing, it's just that my cunning is the real difficulty."

"So confident..."

While Leviathan and Matthius trade words, Karya provokes Violet's annoyance by acting even more spoiled toward Leviathan. Violet from where she stands squeezes her hand tightly. Her master, her savior, and her idol! She will not tolerate anyone who behaves disrespectfully.

Thud!

"I caught him, Sir, the lowly creature who has been spying all this time."

Though her voice is melodious, her personality is extremely savage. Like poisonous beauty. Flashes of lightning emanate from both her eyes, looking down on her prey with contempt. Her body movements are so smooth, for mingling, speaking, cutting and slashing.

If near her you smell the soft scent of roses, then it won't be long before they meet death. Together with a temperamental demon, exterminating thousands of insects. Her hands are not stained with blood, but wherever she steps, it is not advised to look down.

"Her face can't be recognized at all." Lucifer stands beside Leviathan shaking his head slowly. "This emblem..." He crouches, pulling at cloth with a star emblem.

"What is it?" Leviathan doesn't understand.

"I've occasionally seen it before."

"Ah!" Karya runs closer, "They're a group of people who keep murmuring 'the light of the stars will shine replacing the sun and the moon'."

Leviathan, "What does it mean?"

Karya shakes her head, "I don't know either."

"Just take them to the palace, I'll ask them to investigate. Grandfather Lord surely can help." Matthius suggests.

Asmodeus, the poisonous thorny rose, cuts in, "Alright then, we will hand this over to you."

Amon, the demon who is with Asmodeus, unintentionally scoffs while glancing at Asmodeus. "People who smile cheerfully always have two faces."

Asmodeus, "Allow me to host you, Sir."

Leviathan only stays silent looking at him. Some time ago, maybe around last week, during the academy graduation event, a handsome male noble was present. In an instant upon seeing him, he knew who the figure was. Sitting beautifully among the others, and continuously looking in his direction. Together with another, turning away reluctantly.

Asmodeus and Amon, that was them. Like a flower and a storm forced to unite, they are together. Amon as the noble's eyes, and Asmodeus his noble. From a far country in the south they came, looking for Leviathan, after successfully gathering their power again. At that time not one of them would have guessed Leviathan's change, until they arrived and were welcomed well.

They had long assumed Leviathan didn't care, but who would have thought the hand that wields absolute power was extended to them, inviting them to follow the path he takes. How moved they were at that time.

"What are you doing, Belphegor?" Amon approaches Belphegor who stands far from the others, staring blankly at an old well, letting the others leave him behind.

"Do you still remember how your first meeting with Lord Ethan was?" Belphegor's voice sounds soft. "Is it possible we would have died if Lord hadn't come?"

Amon looks straight ahead like Belphegor is doing. "I don't know either. The life Lord gave is too beautiful for me to remember the past. However, there are times I fall silent over something—how I met Lord."

"Right, isn't it..."

"Hm."

"Hey! Why are you all quiet?!" Karya shouts shrilly from back there among the others who have also stopped.

"What do you think? This is quite a good thing, right?" Amon, who turns to look back together with Belphegor, says while looking at them in the distance.

Belphegor stays silent in place until Amon pulls him. He can only stare, with his gaze still fixed on the old well without a pulley. Then not long after, he turns around, Amon's firm face above him, and in front of him there are friends, perhaps, and a new Lord. Hesitantly Belphegor follows, and his eyes close...
