Chapter 41 - 40. Karya's Past

Bruk!

"Go away, you." The cold stare of a husband and wife was seen before the door closed tightly with a bang.

"H-hurts..." With trembling he held his wounded knee. It hurts! This is very painful. Crying was heard, but no one cared for it.

Rain poured down heavily on the earth that night. Lightning split the gray sky. The ground shook and lightning struck the stagnant water, which instantly made those two small hands cover his ears. The cold feeling pierced, his feet went numb due to the wound, and his body burned with fear.

With trembling he rose, holding his clothes that were almost off from his body. Worn and dirty, that is how he was. Tossed around in curses and insults. Small steps that carried suffering and wounds. Was there no one who pitied him?

In the clamor of the rain he laughed bitterly. Why is it like this? Is this what a child his age deserves to receive while alive? Why does death seem better? Humiliated and cursed? He also did not want to be born in a form hated by many people.

The villagers threw stones at him while he played, then reported threats to him that actually never existed to his parents, which made this little child have to walk carrying wounds on a quiet night. He did not bring death! But this strange energy is what caused it. Black mist that spun around his body. Beautiful appearance with the shadow of death. Karya, that is the name his parents gave with full love before hating him half to death.

"God... if you really exist, can you give me just a little hope?" The small voice echoed as rain poured on his body. "I want to play, laugh, until rolling on the sand. Then..." His voice choked. Something seemed to block his throat.

"Akhh!!" Karya screamed loudly along with the sound of heavy rain, then knelt on the wet ground while crying pitifully. "This hurts! Cold! And suffocating! Damn! Let this world be destroyed!" He rambled.

The black magical energy that surrounded him exploded following his raging emotions. Small animals around along with plants died. Dark clouds became darker, and the thunder grew more furious until the sky split. The atmosphere changed to gloomy and terrifying, devouring all forms of life energy.

The explosion of power was not balanced with his small body, making him dazed before falling prostrate. Eyes like the blue sky blinked several times, seeing the surroundings that began to be destroyed so that his consciousness remained. But, he could not. A child's body is very weak. With remaining consciousness he moved one of his hands, hoping to be able to hurl the swirl of black mist into the sky.

"No... can. It seems I will die with them. Hha... At least this is better than dying being stoned." That face displayed his smile, relaxing his eyes and closing them. However, a loud rustling sound that was fighting against the great swirl startled his consciousness.

"Hey! Get up! You're still too young to die!"

Dimly he saw someone with his back to him. A handsome man wearing clothes like a noble in the capital. His white hair looked shimmering from behind. In the raging rain, lightning striking fiercely and the fury of the black storm, that man stood as if protecting this humiliated self.

"Who is he? And... is that proper to say to a little child like me?" In the middle of the decision, Karya seemed to see a small light that pulled his lips to smile.

"Astaga... This storm is really huge." Complained that man, who now turned facing him. Red eyes like a pomegranate fruit, a handsome face like a statue sculpture made by an artist, and a voice that was heavy but calming. "You... really have great power, huh." That foreign man smiled.

"Angel... Is he an angel that God sent to me?" Karya thought weakly.

"Alright!" That man turned his back to him again. "I must eliminate the fury of this black mana first so I can take you away safely."

"Ego, caligo, rex inferorum, dominator abyssi, te, caliginem ec delicto orbis terrarum ortam, subiugari iubeo! Per caliginem quae aeterne in sinistra mundi parte manet, luce in dectera eius consociata, subde te!"

The outstretched hand absorbed the huge black storm that spun. The weather slowly improved, the surroundings became calm, and the creatures that died came back to life. The man standing dashingly and confidently in front of him was truly extraordinary. Even the ground flooded with water grew green grass with white flowers.

"Are you okay?" The big and rough hand was extended to him.

Karya hesitantly accepted it, helped to sit among the green grass with that foreign man. "Thank you," He said softly and awkwardly.

"What is your name?" The face as bright as moonlight turned toward him with a body moving like a small melody.

"Karya."

"Where do you live? Who are your parents? And why are you walking alone in the rain like this?"

"There is none, and it's none of your business." Karya answered curtly.

"Hm..." That man tapped his chin, "Then, where will you go in a condition like this?" He without asking permission began to heal with his healing magic, until the hidden wounds closed perfectly.

"To meet death."

"Pft!" That man was going to laugh before his hand covered his mouth so it wouldn't slip out right then. "How can a little child like you say that? If you said you would run away to avoid the chase of your family, I would believe." He spontaneously ruffled Karya's head.

"Shut up..." Karya's face went silent in annoyance. "The longer you are here, my assessment of you decreases more."

"Hm?" That man tilted his head to the right.

"It's nothing." Karya stood, "I will go. Thank you." He bowed as a farewell greeting.

"Wait." That man's voice changed to serious. "Seeing the explosion of your magical energy just now, are you of the devil race?"

Thump!

Karya's steps stopped. His face froze pale. For sure! That man would definitely treat him like them! Come on! Leave quickly! "No...! Please not now."

"Stop!"

"W-what is this...? Why is my body becoming stiff?"

In the middle of Karya's frozen body, that man stepped closer with real seriousness. "Apparently it is true that you belong to the race of the devil race."

"L-let me go!" Karya shouted.

"No. I must take you."

"Let go!"

"Shut up." That man arrived in front of Karya. "You live with suffering and being ostracized. How can I who am the King of darkness of the devils let you wander in danger?" he asked with an expression returning as before.

Karya felt his body could be moved again. "King of the Devils? You?"

"Correct." That man did a curtsy that was very beautiful in front of Karya, "Introduce, Ethan Demonio, Demon King, ruler of the underworld shrouded in darkness."

Karya stepped back slowly, feeling strange at a person with high position who gave a greeting to him first. "U-um... S-sorry... B-but..."

Ethan stood, approached and gently stroked Karya's head with a wide smile on his face. "Let's go to a place where you can be accepted well. I don't care if you're human or a creature of the sky world."

Karya looked doubtfully at that man. "If I accept his invitation will I live better? Not being stoned and hearing that disgusting mockery?" He asked himself.

"No need to be afraid. After you come, the bond called family that I learned from the underworld will be able to be reached by me. You are very valuable, don't judge yourself lowly again. Appreciate, and love at least yourself."

"Strange." He said spontaneously. "You are a strange man that is interesting."

Ethan was happy with the nickname 'strange' from Karya. "Astaga... hurry... Just so you know, I left a lot of work to come here."

Karya laughed softly before grabbing Ethan's hand. "I will accept it. I hope, this is the best choice that God showed me."

That day, the storm passed quickly. Birds returned chirping melodiously after they left, and the wind of peace began to blow again. Karya left the land where he was born, and went to the underworld where devils live. His arrival, until he succeeded in adapting passed very quickly. There he was not alone, and lived peacefully.

Ethan Demonio, a strange man who brought luck to him. On the expanse of grass that man created he raised his gaze. Even though the sun was not there to shine, but the warmth that he could not feel in the upper world was felt in this world. In this place he grew and developed, until becoming the Fourth Great Devil under Ethan directly.

"Thank you, My Lord. You are the light for me who is always hit by storms of darkness." The beautiful eyes colored like the sky closed, enjoying the cool wind blowing his shimmering pink hair.
