Chapter 2 - 1. Yggsdrasil

Year 501,

The dawn of the era of destruction

Yggsdrasil

.....

"The era of destruction has arrived."

"The roots of the world rot, the wind whispers lies that are turned into truth, and the blasphemer now rules."

"It is time."

Arms outstretched. White robes blazing. Eyes seeing the terrifying creature sleeping within the womb of the world. Feet slowly left the ground, approaching the creature dubbed the destruction. With solemnity, he chanted a strange magic spell that no one could understand.

The air of the place that was like heaven deteriorated. Vibrations caused waves on the river water. The chirping birds scattered in all directions leaving their feathers. Lightning struck violently. The wind formed a raging storm. That place began to collapse, leaving behind a world tree called Yggsdrasil.

"O destruction of the world, owner of light and darkness. Absolute being who possesses a great destiny. Your presence is a blessing as well as a threat to the mortal world. Only you can determine the end of everything."

"With my authority, owner of Yggsdrasil, rise and fulfill the great destiny that has been given to you. You who hold control. Rise! Rebalance light and darkness! Destroy the blasphemers!"

His eyes opened perfectly. The white light adorning his figure showed unparalleled majesty. The neutral one who hid with obedience to the creator. Not a woman, nor a man. He was the core of the world. Not winning, and not losing. Not strong, and not weak. He lived in the middle of the pillar of judgment.

"You've come, Artheria? Long time no see."

His body that flew amidst the destruction slowly set foot back on the ground. Everything that floated he returned to its original place while walking closer to the woman glowing gold up ahead. Flat, pitying, and serious, that was how he looked at her.

"You see, how this sacred place can be destroyed just by waking him? What about the mortal world that has rotted up there? I can imagine what kind of destruction he will bring."

The woman dressed as a Goddess with a golden crown in her golden tresses approached the destruction sleeping in peace. "I can feel the beauty that this child will bring if the world teaches him love." Both her eyes were indeed closed, but she could feel and light had long guided her.

"Did you instill the last sentence that man said?"

Aetheria turned slowly until the transparent cloth covering her face swayed. "If you give love, then peace will come. But if you give wounds, then destruction will occur."

"Yes... That is what that man proclaimed."

"It has been a long time since I first entrusted him to you, and this... is the end. The end of the world is in his hands, and it is the world's own decision to choose. Its path."

"I feel an oddity in your body. Did you use great mana while in the prison chamber, Aetheria?"

"Yes, as the Goddess of Light."

He exhaled slowly. Staring at the sky that was still the same since the arrival of the foreign man who brought destruction to this mirage world. "He has been in the womb of the world long enough. This is the time for him to come to the world as he who was given a great destiny."

"I want to reincarnate the seven grand demons once." Aetheria made the core of the world surprised.

"You know they are beings who hold great grudges? If after reincarnation they choose a path that conflicts, then destruction can happen even if you teach this child how to love."

"I know."

"Then, why? With your condition, reincarnating them will be dangerous."

"The world has long banished darkness and worshiped light. They live in a system built by the blasphemer upon lies. Bringing darkness in a time like this is the choice I take."

"The destruction and the seven grand demons, a great combination that you have taken. Isn't this excessive?"

"No. The demon race has long been experiencing extinction. Bringing the seven grand demons and making this child their King is the combination that should be."

"You know that darkness is more dominant in him, yes. Very interesting. However, I do not agree with you about reincarnating the seven grand demons. They are vengeful ones who become the fuse for the destruction to know the darkness of the world of that era."

Aetheria fell silent, making the core of the world smile happily. "Very well. I will allow you to reincarnate them. I will see how the world's fate is in the future. However, I am only a spectator. Do not expect me to bring a path when destruction becomes the choice."

The glowing white foot stomped downward, summoning an absolute star magic circle. The halted destruction resumed. Magic letters spun beautifully with their light. Seven souls sealed in seven places came with the help of Artheria who exerted her magic energy while the core of the world chanted the awakening spell upon the destruction.

Aetheria began to feel the side effects of using mana in large amounts, staggering and dizzy. However, she still endured. Throwing the seven summoned souls into the storm of magical energy that was forming a soul vessel.

In the raging storm, Aetheria's body collapsed. The core of the world threw Aetheria back in the form of consciousness, then focused on the formation of the vessel. His mouth chanted spells in succession until forming a chain of sentences. The spinning great energy clumped, forming a body with complete organs.

Seven soul orbs shattered! The sleeping destruction showed signs of life. Heavy! The core of the world felt an extraordinarily great pressure from every breath of the destruction. The beating heart trembled with thousands of extraordinary fears. So suffocating! His breath was choked!

The core of the world hissed in pain. "You crazy creature! Your power exceeds my prediction!"

Forcing himself, the seven vessels that were already filled with souls were moved to the isolated world. There, they opened their eyes. Simultaneously knees bent on one side, aware of the arrival of a new majesty. Although feeling extraordinary pressure, they could endure.

"Listen. The light asks you to devote yourselves to the new darkness. Serve him as you served your previous Lord."

"Yes!"

The core of the world opened his eyes. Not finished! Crazy! His brow furrowed. This had already reached its limit, but the vortex that formed the vessel had not yet formed. The darkness gathered for hundreds of years apparently was not enough!

"There is no other way but to throw you who are half-formed into the mortal world. The darkness gathered in Yggsdrasil is no more. Remember this as your name. Leviathan Demonio."

The core of the world released his magic, letting the violent vortex of soul and vessel alignment be drawn by the darkness that existed in the mortal world. His breath improved. The fear that kept surging in his blood vanished. Then, he knelt and laughed softly.

"I was almost drawn to become part of his power."

He lay down. Like a human too lazy to clean his house. As a spectator he should be neutral, but this time he approved the crazy decision of the light. Being silent alone in a place with no inhabitants other than himself was truly boring. A sly smile painted on his quiet face.

"Isn't it fine to play once in a while?"

He rose, snapped his fingers to return everything to its original place and vanished behind the large door after saying, "Maybe this story will be more interesting. Entertain this bored self."

In the quiet room, he sat with legs crossed and hand supporting his chin. The neutral one moved a chess piece, starting a new era in the history of the world. And the large door that was open closed shut with a loud sound.
