Absolutely. I also think this is a good place to end the chapter because it finishes the calm before the storm and leaves readers with a strong cliffhanger. I've tightened the dialogue, improved the pacing, and added a little more description while keeping your humor and story intact.

Chapter 22: The Calm Before the Storm
Mike placed his empty plate onto the silver tray a maid held before him.
"Thank you."
The maid accepted it with a graceful bow before silently leaving.
He leaned back in his chair with a satisfied sigh.
"That was incredible," he admitted, turning to Mrs. Esposito. "I've never had lasagna that good."
Her face lit up instantly.
"I'm so glad you enjoyed it, darling!" she beamed. "Now that you're part of our family, you'll get to eat delicious meals like this all the time."
Mike nearly choked.
"...Part of your family?"
"Of course." She smiled as though it were already settled. "And if you're lucky, you might even get to taste my cooking."
Bang!
A heavy fist struck the dining table.
Mr. Esposito lowered his hand slowly.
"Joining my family..." he said in his deep, intimidating voice, "...I can accept."
Mike relaxed.
"But eating my wife's cooking..."
The room fell silent.
"...is another matter entirely."
He folded his arms.
"If you want that privilege, you'll have to fight me for it."
Mrs. Esposito gasped dramatically.
"Honey... I never knew you loved my cooking that much."
He looked at her with complete sincerity.
"Your cooking is my second most valuable treasure."
She blinked.
"...Really?"
"What's the first?"
"You."
Her cheeks turned bright red.
"Oh, stop it. You're making me blush."
"Eww..."
Priscilla buried her face in her hands.
"Can you two save the flirting until we're not here?"
"...Fine."
"...Very well."
The married couple answered in perfect sync.
Mike couldn't help laughing.
For such an absurd family...
...they were strangely warm.
---
"So..." Mike spoke after the laughter died down. "There's something I've been wondering."
Priscilla rested her chin on her hands.
"What is it?"
"It's almost midnight."
He glanced toward one of the tall windows.
"Why are we eating supper this late?"
A mysterious smile crossed her face.
"Because tonight is going to be... eventful."
Mike frowned.
"...Eventful?"
"We're expecting guests."
She shrugged.
"You'll understand soon enough."
Before Mike could ask another question, Priscilla leaned closer.
"My turn."
He nodded.
"When you touched the crystal earlier..."
She tilted her head.
"What exactly happened?"
Mike frowned.
"I... don't know."
"The crystal glowed."
"You collapsed."
"But nothing came out."
She looked genuinely puzzled.
"I thought everyone either transformed or pulled something out."
Mike scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"I honestly don't remember anything."
"Aww..."
She slumped into her chair.
"What a waste."
"Maybe if I touched it again—"
"No."
Mrs. Esposito interrupted immediately.
"I don't think that's a good idea."
She smiled reassuringly.
"You might simply be like me."
Mike blinked.
"You mean..."
"You gained an ability instead of a transformation."
Priscilla's eyes widened.
"...That actually makes sense."
Mr. Esposito suddenly stood.
"I've had enough sitting around."
He pointed toward the door.
"Boys."
He looked at Edward...
...then Mike.
"Come with me."
Neither moved.
His eyebrow twitched.
"Are you deaf?"
He glared directly at Mike.
"Or are you secretly a woman?"
Mike shot to his feet.
"No, sir!"
"That's what I thought."
He turned.
"Follow me."
---
The three walked through the quiet mansion halls.
Mike eventually caught up to Edward.
"Psst."
No response.
"Pssst."
Edward glanced sideways.
"...Mike."
"You've known Lucy for a long time, right?"
"Since we were kids."
Edward tried to sound casual.
"What kind of things does she like?"
Mike smiled knowingly.
"Hmm..."
"That's a difficult question."
"She likes salads."
"Parfaits."
"Anything fluffy."
"Travelling."
"Fancy restaurants."
"The list goes on."
"I see..."
Edward nodded thoughtfully.
Mike grinned.
"...Why?"
"No reason."
"Oh?"
"No reason at all."
Mike laughed.
"You like her."
Edward froze.
"...What?"
"You like Lucy."
"I do not!"
His face turned bright red.
"What gave you that ridiculous idea?"
"I've seen enough."
Mike folded his arms confidently.
"Don't worry."
"I'm something of a romantic myself."
---
Miles away...
Veronica suddenly sneezed.
"Achoo!"
Carla looked over.
"Are you alright, Mistress?"
Veronica rubbed her nose.
"...Yeah."
She frowned.
"I suddenly got the feeling Mike was lying."
Lucy burst into laughter.
---
Back inside the mansion...
Mike rested a hand on Edward's shoulder.
"Listen carefully."
"If you want to know whether a girl likes you..."
Edward leaned in.
"...yes?"
"Look her straight in the eyes."
"If she can't maintain eye contact..."
Mike nodded wisely.
"...that's usually a good sign."
Edward's eyes sparkled.
"I see..."
He clasped Mike's hands.
"Teach me more, Grandmaster."
A loud scoff echoed down the hallway.
Mr. Esposito didn't even look back.
"Nonsense."
"The blind leading the blind."
Mike frowned.
"What do you know about romance?"
Edward nodded.
"Yeah."
"You don't exactly look like an expert."
Mr. Esposito stopped walking.
He slowly turned around.
"...You two seem to have forgotten something."
He pointed toward the dining room.
"I have a wife."
Silence.
Mike blinked.
"...Oh."
Edward's shoulders slumped.
"...He's got us there."
"So..."
Edward leaned forward eagerly.
"How did you do it?"
Mr. Esposito smiled proudly.
"It's simple."
"When you find the woman you love..."
He clenched a fist.
"Be bold."
"Corner her."
"Pin her against the wall."
"And confess."
Mike stared.
"...Wouldn't that scare her?"
"Then she wasn't worthy of standing beside you."
He shrugged.
"You move on."
---
At that exact moment...
Mrs. Esposito sneezed.
Priscilla looked up.
"Mom?"
"Are you alright?"
She smiled awkwardly.
"I'm fine."
She sighed.
"I just have a terrible feeling your father is giving those boys horrible advice."
---
Mr. Esposito eventually stopped before a pair of large wooden doors.
He pushed them open.
Mike's jaw dropped.
Inside was an enormous recreation room.
Pool tables.
Arcade machines.
Board games.
Gaming consoles.
Shelves lined with every hobby imaginable.
Mr. Esposito grabbed a cue stick before tossing another toward Mike.
"No son of mine should be incapable of playing pool."
He gestured toward the table.
"Take the opening shot."
"...I'm not your son yet," Mike muttered under his breath.
He positioned himself.
Adjusted the cue.
Lined up the angle.
Then—
Crack.
The white ball exploded forward—
BOOOOOOM!!
The entire mansion shook violently.
Dust drifted from the ceiling.
A butler burst into the room, breathing heavily.
"Sir!"
"There has been a breach!"
Mr. Esposito didn't look surprised.
"Someone broke through the roof."
For just a moment...
...a grin spread across his face.
"So..."
He rolled up his sleeves.
"Our guests have finally arrived."
Moonlight poured through the gaping hole in the roof, illuminating a room that had never been meant to have a skylight.
Dust drifted lazily through the air.
Lucy coughed, waving a hand in front of her face.
"Cough... I think..." she wheezed. "I think I'm going to throw up."
She leaned against the nearest wall, her face pale.
"Flying immediately after eating at a five-star restaurant..."
She swallowed hard.
"...is a terrible idea."
A deep chuckle came from beside her.
"I did tell you not to bite your tongue."
"That wasn't the problem!"
Lucy glared at Veronica.
"My organs are still trying to figure out where they are."
Carla brushed the dust from her sleeves before glancing toward the enormous silhouette rising from the crater.
"Don't panic," she said calmly.
"It's only—"
"AWWWW!"
Lucy practically squealed.
Before either of them could react, she sprinted forward and wrapped both arms around the massive creature.
"So fluffy!"
She buried her face in its golden fur.
"I love you already!"
She rubbed her cheek against it.
"Who's the cutest bear in the world?"
Veronica blinked.
"...Lucy."
"I hereby name you Pooky."
"...Lucy."
"You are officially my favorite person in this mansion."
"...Lucy."
"Where has Veronica been hiding you all this time?"
The enormous bear sighed.
Its body rapidly shrank.
Golden fur receded.
Massive paws became human hands.
A second later...
Lucy realized she was hugging Veronica.
...
...
...
She let go so quickly she nearly dislocated her own shoulders.
"I..."
She stared blankly.
"...can explain."
Veronica folded her arms.
"I'm listening."
Lucy pointed accusingly.
"You kidnapped Pooky."
"I am Pooky."
"No."
Lucy shook her head firmly.
"Pooky was fluffy."
"You are annoying."
"Freeze!"
A booming voice echoed through the room.
More than twenty guards flooded in from every entrance, rifles raised.
One stepped forward.
"Hands where we can see—"
He never finished.
Veronica disappeared.
One instant she was standing beside Lucy.
The next...
She was directly in front of the guards.
Her right arm expanded.
Golden fur exploded outward.
Muscles bulged.
Her hand transformed into the enormous paw of a bear.
WHAM!
Three guards were launched across the room like bowling pins.
The rest barely had time to react.
Veronica blurred again.
A second swing.
Another group crashed through a display cabinet.
The remaining guards instinctively backed away.
"She's fast!"
"No kidding!"
Veronica crouched.
Then jumped.
The ceiling shook.
Instead of a young woman...
A gigantic golden bear descended from above.
BOOOOM!
The floor cracked beneath the impact.
Several guards lost their footing immediately.
A few stumbled.
Others simply froze.
One unfortunate guard recovered quickly enough to reach for the tranquilizer rifle slung over his shoulder.
He aimed.
Finger tightening on the trigger—
A blur flew past.
THUD!
Carla's foot slammed squarely into his face.
The guard spun twice before collapsing unconscious.
Three darts whistled toward her.
She twisted gracefully.
One passed beneath her arm.
Another missed her shoulder by inches.
The last flew harmlessly overhead.
She landed on one hand.
Spun.
Both heels struck two guards simultaneously.
Before either hit the floor, Carla had already stolen one of their rifles.
Pfft!
Pfft!
Pfft!
Three tranquilizer darts.
Three unconscious guards.
Lucy blinked.
"...Show-off."
Unfortunately...
One remaining guard chose the wrong target.
He rushed straight toward Lucy.
Knife raised.
Lucy froze.
"...Wait..."
The guard lunged.
Instinct took over.
She pivoted.
Her leg shot upward.
CRACK!
The guard's eyes bulged.
His knife slipped from numb fingers.
Both hands instinctively covered the source of his pain.
He collapsed silently.
Lucy stared.
"..."
"I..."
She looked at her foot.
"...still remember my judo classes."
She quickly grabbed the man's tranquilizer rifle.
"You know..."
Pfft!
"...this is actually kind of fun."
Another guard dropped.
"Pfft!"
Another.
"Pfft!"
Another.
Across the hall...
Veronica became a wrecking ball.
Walls crumbled beneath massive paws.
Furniture shattered.
An entire squad waiting in ambush barely had time to scream before a wall exploded inward.
The bear charged.
Guards scattered like leaves before a hurricane.
Those too slow simply became part of the debris.
Veronica suddenly reared onto her hind legs.
Her shadow swallowed the corridor.
She slammed both paws into the floor.
BOOOOOM!
The shockwave rippled through the mansion.
Every guard nearby lost balance simultaneously.
Some dropped weapons.
Others landed flat on their backs.
A terrified silence followed.
Then...
A deep voice echoed across the battlefield.
"You had better turn back..."
Every guard froze.
"...before I give each of you a reason to fear me more than you fear a bear."
Mr. Esposito slowly walked into view.
Hands behind his back.
Completely unfazed.
The guards immediately straightened.
"Y-Yes, sir!"
He didn't even acknowledge them.
Instead...
He looked toward Mike.
"You."
Mike looked up.
"Find Priscilla."
"What?"
"We'll need her."
He glanced toward the battle.
"You'd only get yourself killed here."
Mike clenched his fists.
"But—"
"That..."
Mr. Esposito's voice became ice.
"...was an order."
Mike lowered his head.
"...Yes, sir."
Without another word...
He ran.
Edward watched him disappear before smiling slightly.
Then...
He looked toward his father.
"...So."
"You're finally serious."
Mr. Esposito exhaled.
Smoke escaped his nostrils.
The temperature around him began to rise.
"...At last."
"I don't have to hold back anymore."
Beside him...
Edward smiled.
Golden eyes narrowed.
Whiskers appeared across his cheeks.
His pupils became thin slits.
Cat ears slowly rose through his hair.
His senses sharpened instantly.
Father and son exchanged one look.
Then—
Both vanished.
They shot toward the battlefield.
Like predators returning to their hunting grounds.
The corridor had become a battlefield.
Broken furniture littered the floor.
Dust drifted through the moonlight pouring in from the shattered roof.
The few guards still conscious hesitated, clutching their tranquilizer rifles with trembling hands.
Then...
Two figures appeared at the end of the hall.
One towered over everyone else.
The other walked with an almost lazy confidence.
Mr. Esposito and Edward.
The remaining guards immediately stepped aside.
"Sir!"
Mr. Esposito paid them no attention.
His eyes rested only on the gigantic golden bear standing amidst the wreckage.
"...You've grown stronger."
The bear answered with a low growl.
Lucy looked between the two.
"You know..."
She whispered.
"I suddenly feel like we're the intruders."
Veronica's ears twitched.
For the briefest moment...
Recognition flashed in the bear's crimson eyes.
Then it vanished beneath another feral growl.
Mr. Esposito sighed.
"...So it's happened again."
Edward frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"She's no longer fighting."
His father clenched a fist.
"She's surviving."
Not far away...
Carla slowly pushed herself from the pile of unconscious guards she'd just finished dismantling.
She rolled one shoulder.
"So much for warming up."
Her sharp eyes swept across the battlefield.
Mistress...
Where are you—
A faint metallic click reached her ears.
Her instincts screamed.
She spun.
Too late.
Pfft!
A dart buried itself in Veronica's shoulder.
The bear froze.
Another dart.
Then another.
The guards hadn't fired.
Carla's eyes widened.
Her gaze shot upward.
A lone butler stood calmly on the second-floor balcony, lowering a compact dart pistol.
He smiled.
"Direct hit."
Carla disappeared.
Lucy tried to shoot the butler but he was agile, be dodged each shot and quickly closed the distance, a knife slipped out of his sleeve and with a spin he aimed it at her throat, before he could touch her Carla appeared beside him, the wooden railing exploded as she landed.
Before the butler could blink, she had him pinned against the wall by his collar.
"You dared..."
Her voice trembled with restrained fury.
"...to shoot my mistress."
The butler only smiled wider.
"You misunderstand."
Carla frowned.
"It wasn't a tranquilizer."
Silence.
"...What?"
"Carla!"
Lucy's voice echoed from below.
"Look out!"
A deafening roar shook the mansion.
The golden bear convulsed.
Muscles expanded violently.
Crimson veins spread beneath her fur.
The tranquilizer dart was crushed as flesh forced it back out.
The bear slowly turned.
Its eyes...
Glowed blood red.
A killing intent unlike anything before flooded the room.
Even the guards instinctively stepped backward.
The butler chuckled.
"Perfect."
With a swing of its palm a crushing force hit Carla and sent her flying through three walls on turn injuring head head and breaking her right arm.
"Marvelous, this will do nicely, rejoice father, tonight the Espositos shall fall and I will return to the Marcel house as its rightful heir."
The bear swung a paw at him but before it could hit him he turned into mist, allowing him survive the attack and escape.
He then reappeared in front of Veronica who was barely conscious, she felt blood flow down the side of her head and her right hand was broken. With her still functioning hams she reached out for a tranquilizer gun nearby.
"Don't bother, no tranquilizer will save her now." The butler said before kicking the gun away.
"What... Did you do to her."
"I shot her with a powerful stimulant, one that'll have her rampaging and it won't be long before the Espositos will be wiped out by their own golden child."
"Who are you."
"I'm Jack Marcel, the rightful heir to the Marcel house."
"Weren't you banished?"
"After tonight that will be old news."
With a grunt Carla slashed at Jack but he was saved by instinct and the worst he recieved was a cut to the cheek.
"You're a smart one."
The bear's breathing became ragged.
Inside...
Veronica clutched her head.
"No..."
The world around her was painted red.
Not again...
Please...
She heard voices.
She recognized them.
Lucy.
Carla.
Her father.
She wanted to answer.
Instead...
Only an animalistic growl escaped.
She reached for control.
It slipped through her fingers.
Like sand.
Outside...
Lucy's smile disappeared.
"...Veronica?"
The bear didn't answer.
Instead...
It took one slow step forward.
Another.
The floor groaned beneath each footfall.
Lucy instinctively backed away.
"Hey..."
She forced a laugh.
"This isn't funny anymore."
The bear inhaled deeply.
Its claws dug into the marble.
Then—
It charged.
Time seemed to stop.
Lucy's body refused to move.
Her mind screamed.
Move!
Run!
Shoot!
Her hand lifted the tranquilizer rifle.
She aimed directly between Veronica's glowing eyes.
Pull the trigger.
Nothing happened.
"...Why..."
Her finger wouldn't move.
She saw not a monster...
But the girl she'd known since childhood.
The girl who argued over everything.
The girl who secretly adored cats.
The girl who jumped across an entire city...
Just to save Mike.
"...I can't..."
The bear opened its jaws.
Rows of enormous fangs reflected the moonlight.
Closer.
Closer.
Hot breath washed across Lucy's face.
She closed her eyes.
A thunderclap exploded through the hallway.
BOOM!
Wind blasted across the room.
The pressure disappeared.
Lucy slowly opened one eye.
"...Huh?"
She wasn't dead.
Strong arms held her securely.
She looked up.
Golden eyes.
Cat ears.
A slightly embarrassed smile.
Edward.
"I made it..."
He exhaled heavily.
"...just in time."
Lucy stared blankly.
"...You."
Edward scratched the back of his head.
"I'm glad you're okay."
Lucy suddenly realized she was still in his arms.
"...Put me down."
"Huh?"
"NOW!"
"Oh!"
He hurriedly set her down.
The moment her feet touched the ground...
Her knees buckled.
Edward caught her before she hit the floor.
"I'm fine!"
"You don't look fine."
"I said I'm fine!"
"...Right."
She refused to look at him.
"...Thank you."
Edward smiled sheepishly.
"It was nothing."
A deep growl interrupted them.
Both looked up.
The bear stood only a few meters away.
Edward blinked.
"...Is it just me..."
"...or did she get bigger?"
The answer came in the form of a blazing fireball.
It slammed into Veronica's back.
The explosion echoed throughout the mansion.
The bear stumbled.
Then turned.
Standing amidst the flames...
Was Mr. Esposito.
Except...
He was no longer entirely human.
Black scales covered his arms.
Massive wings unfolded from his back.
Smoke curled from his nostrils.
Long claws gleamed beneath the moonlight.
The guards instinctively knelt.
"The Dragon..."
One whispered.
Mr. Esposito flexed one claw.
"It appears..."
His voice echoed through the ruined hall.
"...someone requires discipline."
The bear roared.
The dragon answered with one of his own.
The two monsters stared at one another.
Neither moved.
Neither blinked.
Then...
They disappeared.
The impact came a heartbeat later.
The ceiling exploded.
Stone rained from above.
The battle had moved into the night sky.
Lucy shielded her face from the falling debris.
Edward stared upward with a grin.
"...There they go."
Far above the mansion...
Gold and black collided beneath the full moon.
And the night itself trembled.
The park had fallen eerily silent.
The only sounds that remained were the rustling of leaves and the heavy flapping of wings overhead.
The owl perched upon the tallest branch in the park, his golden eyes calmly surveying the animals gathered beneath him.
Unlike before, he made no attempt to hide.
He simply waited.
"...So."
His voice echoed through the trees.
"The Hero has finally arrived."
Chelsea stepped in front of the others.
"I don't know who you are."
The owl chuckled.
"No..."
"You don't remember."
Bruce lowered his head and bared his teeth.
"You talk too much."
Lightning danced across his fur.
Silver landed beside him while the remaining cats slowly spread out, forming a loose circle around the owl.
Nike, though exhausted, forced herself to stand.
"No more running."
"If you want me..."
She unsheathed her claws.
"...come take me."
The owl smiled.
"I intended to."
---
Without warning—
He vanished.
Silver's ears twitched.
"Above!"
The owl shot downward like an arrow.
Chelsea barked.
"Now!"
The bushes exploded.
Bruce launched himself from the darkness.
The two collided in midair.
Feathers scattered everywhere.
Both crashed through three tree branches before rolling across the grass.
Bruce immediately lunged again.
The owl spread one wing.
A black shadow swallowed him whole.
Bruce's jaws snapped shut...
On empty air.
"What?!"
Behind him—
The owl emerged from Bruce's own shadow.
His talons raked across Bruce's side.
Bruce yelped but refused to fall.
Instead he twisted midair and slammed his shoulder into Akumu's chest.
The owl was sent tumbling across the park.
---
"After him!"
Silver shouted.
The cats scattered.
Some raced along the ground.
Others climbed trees with unbelievable speed.
Akumu flew low between the branches.
Every few seconds another cat leapt at him.
Every time...
He slipped into a shadow before reappearing somewhere else.
"...Annoying."
He muttered.
One seal engraved upon his wing shattered.
Dark energy spilled from the crack.
His movements became noticeably faster.
It charged right at Chelsea who got on top of the owl and pinned it to the ground but the owl sank into its shadow taking Chelsea with it.
Chelsea was surprised to herself suspended in a void, it felt like she was underwater and couldn't breathe, she saw Nike and Midnight in the distance but found that she couldn't shout to either of them, slowly her vision blurred and she felt her consciousness slip away.
Meanwhile the owl was flying at full speed but found that it couldn't shake of Bruce neither could it change direction because any change would let Bruce get even closer and to make matters worse cats chased it down through the trees, Bruce lunged and the owl spread out its wings slowing down abruptly causing Bruce to miss it.
Changing direction it flew to a nearby tree, two cats showed up and jumped down easy to pounce on it but the moment the owl touched the tree's shadow it sank in and disappeared, the cats lifted their paws in surprise check of they caught it but of course they didn't.
Bruce sniffed the ground then caught the owl's scent and ran in its direction, this time the owl had a head start so it began fly upwards hoping to get out of Bruce's jumping range.
The owl's focus on Bruce have silver the chance he'd been waiting for and with a leap he was face to face with the owl, in response it flew higher but silver wasn't going to waste this chance, he managed to bite it's leg and the sudden pained caused them to begin to fall, the owl flapped its wings frantically but this barely did anything, they crashed in a tree and in the middle of the fall silver hit his back on a brach and he yelped bit that gave the owl a chance to escape his grip but that didn't stop it from falling.
Before it could even hit the ground Bruce caught it in his jaws and shaked it violently before throwing it at a tree and pouncing on it, the owl was disoriented for a bit but the moment it's mind cleared it activated a wide area spell and a dark shadow flooded the entire park sinking most of the cats and Bruce.
"...Child."
A gentle voice echoed through the void.
Chelsea slowly opened her eyes.
The darkness had disappeared.
She now stood within an enormous forest unlike anything she'd ever seen.
Trees hundreds of meters tall reached toward a glowing sky.
Countless flowers bloomed beneath her paws.
Tiny lights danced through the air.
"...Am I..."
"...dead?"
"Not yet."
Chelsea spun around.
A beautiful woman approached barefoot.
Leaves formed her dress.
Flowers bloomed in her silver hair.
Wherever she stepped, life followed.
Vines gently wrapped around Chelsea, lifting her into the woman's warm embrace. She smelled like a field of flowers and her embrace was as warm as a mother's.
"I am the world spirit, I've got a proposal that would benefit the both of us." She said.
"What is your proposal?"
"I'd like you two to become enforcers."
"Two?"
"Is that cat not you friend." The lady said pointing at Nike who was asleep on a patch of grass.
"Nike!"
"Worry not she's simply resting, if you accept my proposal both has rules but people have found loop holes allowing them to use otherworldly abilities and objects which disturbs the balance, enforcers are granted otherworldly abilities and objects for the sole purpose of keeping rule breakers in check and maintaining order."
"I accept."
"Good let's make a contract."
Suddenly a vine wrapped around her paw and a thorn shot of it and Chelsea's blood blood dripped onto a sigil that appeared on the lady's hand.
"It is done."
Suddenly the world around them disappeared and Chelsea found herself in the void once again this time light pulsed from her chest from the sigil on it, the pulse was in sync with her heartbeat and illuminated the nearby area, Bruce was caught in this light and a sigil appeared on his chest and with their combined heartbeat the void rippled and they swam to the surface, at this time the owl had just finished healing and was flying.
"Oh man I shouldn't have sucked them all in, I'm feeling the weight of all the cats combined, how many were they? Seventeen maybe? Oh wait plus those two dogs. Anyway this is much better than fighting-" before the owl could process the thought a dot of light appeared on its shadow and then the dot turned into a crack and then Bruce emerged once again catching the owl in its jaws again, Chelsea and the other cats emerged as well, all glad to be able to breathe.
Meanwhile back in the realm with the beautiful lady, a pixie flew to her shoulder.
"Queen titania, are they gone?"
"Yes they are."
"Wow you totally fooled them into thinking you were the world spirit, she won't be happy."
"I don't care about mother she's too busy obsessing over that human to care about her daughters so it's time to teach her a lesson."
"Although I must admit I'm a bit surprised the demon lord realised this was the fae realm while the hero didn't."
"That's exactly why I had her put to sleep, you didn't forget to wipe her memories right."
"Yes my queen."
"The cat is the smarter of the two, she knows the rule about never making a deal with a fairy, the dog on the other hand was easy game."
"It's because of that saviour complex she has, she still thinks she's a hero."
"Well now we just need to wait, each time those two use my power the thinner the veil between mother's world and the fae realm becomes."
"Yes my queen."
Meanwhile back in the park Bruce had the owl pinned but once again it sunk through his shadow and teleport to the shadow of a tree and tried to fly away, before it could get any further Bruce lunged at it, this time it's body charged up with lightning in a flash he caught up to the owl, hitting it hard and sending it crashing into a tree. This time when it got up a strange energy covered it's body, more seals broke and this time the owl transformed.
"I can't believe house pets have forced me to not only break the seal on my shadow magic but the seal on my form, anyway if doesn't matter now this battle is over."
The owl's body grew larger and larger before warping. While this was going on Chelsea was worried about Nike who just stood as if in a trance.
"Nike ! Hey wake up!"
"Huh! Wha-what happened?"
"Oh good you're finally back, although I must admit you've got some nerve sleeping while we were out here trying to save you."
"I slept, no I was put to sleep by- Ah!"
Nike shouted as she was suddenly hit by a splitting headache then she heard a soft voice whisper in her ear.
"Don't fight it."
Suddenly she calmed down and looked at Chelsea.
"Chelsea? What are you doing here? Where are we?" She asked.
"Are you ok?"
"Yes I am thanks."
"Ok this is wierd."
Suddenly a bright flash appeared and headed towards them, Bruce lunged and knocked both of them out of the way. Suddenly the ground on the area they were standing exploded.
"Hey Chelsea that owl got a lot more powerful, I don't think we'll be able to handle him."
"What do mean?"
"Look up there."
Chelsea looked up and instead of an owl, a man with owl wings flew in the sky, be held a spell book and a seal appeared on it then broke.
"Now with full access to my magic I can go all out, none of you will leave alive."
"Listen Chelsea I need you to go the pound outside this park and tell tell them I sent you." Bruce said.
"Can you handle him?"
"Not for long, but I'll try my best ."
"Hey Nike I know you aren't in peak condition right now but I need you to help Bruce fight."
"Sure thing."
"Thanks."
The pets seperate and Chelsea saw Bruce charge at the man with lightning while Nike shot him with dark magic. She quickly ran across the park, the pound was across the road and tried to cross it but a car suddenly appeared and was just about to hit her when Chelsea felt a familiar energy flow through her and she suddenly found herself on the other end of the road.
"Did I just flash step?" She thought to herself before heading inside the pound. She dodged some guards and found herself in the room where the dogs were kept all of them gave her ominous stares and she gulped.
"What is a tiny thing like you doing here?" One dog snickered.
"Ugh she's got a collar, she's one of those domestics." Another said. Other dogs began spit.
"Go back to your owner."
"Can you even call yourself a dog?"
"We are descended from wolves we are supposed to be wild but look at you."
More remarks were thrown at her and it got on her nerves.
"That does it, I don't care whether you're wild or whatever doesn't change the fact that you're aged and I'm free, instead of getting jealous ask me for help and I'll see what I can do, right now I need help, my friends are in trouble and I need your help, by my honor as the empire's champion I will repay whoever helps me."
"You're a fiesty one, I like it." The first dog said. "Unfortunately though we can't escape these cages, only one of us can and she only budges when a certain someone is in trouble."
"Who is this certain someone?" Chelsea asked.
"He's a German-"
"Hey, don't tell her, if he needed help he'd tell her to ask for him so if she doesn't know him then he didn't tell her to asked for me." A scary voice said. A smirk tugged at Chelsea's lips as she walked up to the cage.
"Tell me does this certain someone happen to be a German shepherd named, Bruce?"
There was a pause followed by a deep growl, suddenly the cage door was smashed open and a large figure walked out. Chelsea moved back in fear.
"She looks pissed was I wrong?" She asked herself.
"Brucey sent you?" Said the dog in a much softer and happier tone.
"Wait you aren't mad at me?"
"What nah, well I've been told I've got resting mean facesi bear with okay, if I'm pissed you'll know."
"That's good to know."
"Let's go."
The dog said standing up straight.
"You're big."
"I'll take that as a compliment."
The two began to walk out but before they left the first dog called out to Chelsea.
"Hey little one, if the offer of freeing us still stands feel free to come ask for our help next time, hopefully we won't be caged then and sorry for giving you a hard time."
"Don't worry I will free you guys."
With that they left, soon they found themselves in the park which was in shambles, splintered trees, craters, unconscious cats and in the center Bruce and Nike were panting heavily the man stood in front them, suddenly the the big dog charged forward.
Now that she could see her under the moonlight, Chelsea could tell she was a pitbull, a mascular one at that and her size defied logic, she was twice Bruce's size and almost just as tall, like a bull she charged and with one hit he was sent flying.
"My how the great have fallen, I can't believe you're losing to a little birdie, Bruce." The dog said. "What can you do without me?"
"Well Ginger I can now use lightning." He replied.
"What you're jocking right?"
"Nope, I've got a rough idea how it works, Chelsea do that heartbeat thing again."
"You mean this."
Once again Chelsea began to produce light the pulsed in sync with her heart. A sigil appeared on Ginger's chest and she felt energy flow through her, suddenly a pop up appeared in front of Chelsea.
[Resonance achieved. Necessary conditions met. Would you like to undergo mythical transformation?]
"Yes." She said, suddenly her, Bruce and Ginger disappeared, at the same time the man got out of the debris of his crash.
"Release limitors, activate full power." He said more to himself than to others. Magic seals around his wrists disappeared and once again he transformed, four wings sprouted from his back blowing huge gusts of wind, a ring of magical formulas appeared around him, with a tap the sky behind him filled with magic circles all aimed at Nike and the other cats.
"You stand before Akumu and I'm happy to inform you that none shall will be walking away with their lives." He said with an evil smirk.
Meanwhile Chelsea found herself in a place that seemed to stretch infinitely in every direction, it felt like she was looking at the universe from a higher plane, she could see galaxies, black holes, nebulae amd more, suddenly some Aurora appeared making a path to a throne and on that throne sat a being who's body contained the cosmos, her presence seemed to remind Chelsea of how tiny she was compared to the world, the being snapped and Chelsea found herself in front of the throne.
"I understand this may be overwhelming but this is lowest form I could access, at the very least your mind will not shatter."
The being's voice felt strangely maternal which surprised Chelsea.
"Who are you?" She asked.
"I am the world spirit, the true world spirit."
"What?"
