Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: The Angel Race, Whis Descends!

There was currently one uncertain, troublesome matter weighing on Qin Yan's mind.

If it truly were an Angel spying on him, would they have also noticed his parents? He himself was not particularly worried; given his cultivation of the Grand Primeval Chaos Creation Dao Profound True Wonder Art, even someone with heaven-defying abilities would find it impossible to detect him.

He feared that if the Angel investigated his parents, they might deduce through indirect means that an anomaly like Qin Yan was among them and come to investigate in person. If that happened, he might truly find himself in a bit of trouble.

"I hope nothing happens!" Qin Yan thought to himself.

Deep in the cosmos, within an unknown and hazy star region.

This region was shrouded in a layer of orange chaos energy, with a brilliant white light shining eternally at its center. Entering the hazy chaos of the star region revealed countless giant stars radiating scorching light.

Passing through the orange mists at the center of the region, a massive, inverted four-sided diamond-shaped altar could be seen floating quietly in space. The altar was comparable in size to a super-large planet, its volume immense. Surrounding it were crimson planets drifting through the air, and the surrounding space was wreathed in a pink, hazy mist.

The divine altar was divided into four levels, each floating above the other, decreasing in size from top to bottom.

The altar possessed a purple luster, seemingly constructed from a special, hard cosmic brick. To be able to build such a massive structure, the strength of the architect must have been earth-shaking and god-weeping; their craftsmanship was truly a masterpiece of nature.

On the third platform from the bottom, an area comparable to a planet's surface was covered in a dense, lush green forest.

Most incredible of all was the top platform. It was also covered in dense jungle, at the center of which stood an incredibly thick and tall dark purple divine tree. Its massive trunk spiraled upward, extending all the way to its branches. The dark purple tree bore no leaves, only countless bare twigs.

The height of this massive purple tree was nearly equal to that of the entire divine altar itself. Warm, dazzling sunlight spilled from the deep space above its peak, for a giant star radiated heat and light just beyond the pink mists.

Countless houses were built along the Spiraling trunk of the purple tree, protruding from the bark. It was a miraculous sight, building houses directly upon the trunk; it spoke to the unimaginable height of the divine tree.

This was the residence of the God of Destruction. This was the Sacred World of the Destruction God.

At the very top of the bare purple tree stood a massive, earth-gray building.

Inside, a vast space glowed with purple light, featuring a purple staircase that spiraled upward. There were several hundred steps; on the left side of the stairs were purple crystals of various sizes, while the right was a purple wall punctuated by circular windows through which sunlight streamed.

At the end of the purple stairs stood a tall stone gate, flanked by two stone pillars topped with trays burning with fierce purple flames. The stone gate was slightly ajar, and the darkness behind the crack hid the interior from view.

Passing through the gate revealed a vast, bright space with floor tiles etched with special symbols.

In the center of the room stood a terrifying, snake-like sculpture, its body winding and towering high. Between its gaping maws sat a giant hourglass, hundreds of feet tall, surrounded by a glowing white ring.

Inside the massive hourglass, grains of sand fell gently, silently enacting the brevity and eternity of life. It was a display of indifferent poise and calm wisdom.

Large, yellow glowing bubbles floated around the sculpture, each containing an exquisite hourglass. These hourglasses embodied the charm and mystery of nature. In the boundless universe, time was as fine as sand, yet as unstoppable as an hourglass.

Above the sculpture, several large stone platforms floated. On one flat platform sat a large, round bed with a red mattress. Curled up in a deep sleep on the mattress was a hairless, purple creature resembling a Cornish Rex.

This was the bedchamber of Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7. The one snoring on the bed was indeed the strongest being in Universe 7, Lord Beerus.

However, Beerus was not the only one on the planet.

Not far from the purple divine tree was an open clearing surrounded by dense trees. At its center lay a vast, light-blue lake, its surface shimmering. The lake was like a bright mirror embedded in the earth, reflecting the beauty of the sky, quiet and profound.

Shadowy trees lined the shore, and lush blue grass extended to the water's edge, adding a fresh, pale blue tint to the lake.

At that moment, on the shore...

A slender, upright figure stood on the soft blue grass. He was a young man of extraordinary temperament, with blue skin, standing over two meters tall, and wearing a strange red divine robe.

The youth had silver-white hair that swept upward, and his pale purple eyes contained layers of color and light. His gaze was like deep, calm lake water mysterious, bright, and seemingly able to see through everything.

His pupils flickered slightly, like the brightest stars in the night sky, flashing with endless curiosity, exploration, and wisdom.

He held a blue scepter, at the top of which floated a polished black crystal ball. A black divine band circled the crystal ball, resembling a planetary orbit filled with asteroid belts.

Most striking was the pale blue mysterious halo around the youth's neck, making him appear even more sacred and inviolable.

If Qin Yan were here, he would surely recognize this extraordinary youth. He was from the Angel Race who frequently appeared in Dragon Ball Super.

Whis!

At that moment, Whis used his scepter to project a screen. It displayed scenes of Qin Yan firing a Kamehameha to defeat Frieza and Cooler, and finally, Qin Yan taking his parents to Planet Prodalanafack.

However, these images revealed an eerie phenomenon: every scene involving Qin Yan was a complete void, as if he did not exist at all.

This caused the highly cultivated and far-sighted Whis to frown deeply. Whis had sensed the conflict since Frieza and Qin Yan fought on Planet Vegeta and had begun spying on them. But what he saw was bizarre.

It was clearly a battle between Frieza and someone else, yet only one figure could be seen. It was the same when Cooler joined. Whis could feel that there should be another person beside them, yet he saw nothing but emptiness. This sparked a deep sense of shock and an incredible light in his eyes.

The same occurred when Qin Yan took his parents to Planet Prodalanafack. When Qin Yan's parents talked, they were speaking toward a specific direction, and it was obvious someone stood before them. Yet, the image only showed them talking to thin air. The scene was as eerie as a sacrificial rite.

"What do you think, Oracle Fish?"

Whis's eyes glinted with a strange light as he asked the Oracle Fish floating beside him, his voice tinged with shock.

The Oracle Fish was a creature resembling a loach but with hands and blue skin, with a single tentacle on its head. It could speak the human tongue and predict the future. It drifted inside a tidy glass bowl, which was held aloft by a golden rod shaped like a plunger.

"This... even I don't know," the Oracle Fish replied. It was equally astonished; it had never encountered such a situation and didn't know how to answer.

"Tomorrow, I shall go and have a look myself," Whis said. "I want to see exactly what kind of sacred being this is to be so powerful."

Hearing this, Whis stopped questioning the Oracle Fish and made a startling decision: he would go to investigate in person.

"I'll have to trouble you to watch over Lord Beerus. If anything seems wrong, I will return immediately. It won't take long."

Having made his decision, Whis gave his instructions to the Oracle Fish.

"Alright!" the Oracle Fish replied with a nod.

The next day at noon.

Planet Prodalanafack.

Deep in the primordial mountains, atop the peak of a vigorous ancient tree.

Qin Yan was suspended in the void when a figure suddenly appeared before him.

Upon seeing the newcomer, Qin Yan's eyes widened, and a storm of shock surged in his heart.

Silver-white hair standing tall, a blue halo around his neck, a blue scepter with a pointed bottom and a black orb at the top, a red robe, and a warm, knowing smile.

Was this not Whis, the attendant sent by the Angel Race to Universe 7 for the God of Destruction, Beerus!

Qin Yan was utterly stunned. He rubbed his eyes in disbelief, making sure he wasn't seeing things. It was truly the servant and martial arts master of this universe's God of Destruction Whis!

At that moment, only Qin Yan and Whis were present, sizing each other up.

Looking at the gentle-faced Whis, Qin Yan felt a bit apprehensive. He suppressed his internal emotions, forcing himself to appear calm and composed. He was the first to break the silence.

"Hello. May I ask who you are?"

Qin Yan intentionally pretended not to know Whis, greeting him politely as if he were a total stranger.

"Hello!"

Whis replied with humble politeness, though his face bore that half-smile as if he had already seen through everything. His next words made Qin Yan's hair stand on end.

Whis spoke gracefully, "From your reaction, it seems you recognize me!"

Ugh! This was awkward as hell. Truly, "old ginger is spicier than young ginger."

From just the slightest nuance in Qin Yan's performance, Whis had seen through everything and called him out directly. It was terrifying; Qin Yan couldn't help but admire and marvel at Whis's power.

Furthermore, when Whis had appeared, Qin Yan had tried to gauge him. The man felt like a bottomless, vast universe sacred, mysterious, and incredibly powerful. He couldn't even measure the gap between them; the difference in dimensions was too vast. Qin Yan had to be extremely cautious.

Since he had been seen through, there was no longer any point in hiding. Otherwise, he would just look like a clown. If he provoked Whis's displeasure, he might find himself in a dangerous position.

Thus, Qin Yan adjusted his mindset again and said with a smile, "Haha! Mr. Whis, the master of the world-famous God of Destruction... your reputation precedes you."

Whis was genuinely surprised that Qin Yan not only knew him but also knew about the God of Destruction. What surprised him even more was that Qin Yan knew the specific relationship between him and Beerus. This made Whis increasingly curious about who this Saiyan brat really was.

"Oh?" Whis asked, puzzled.
