Lavenia's POV
I took a step back before finally turning to leave. Damien, who had seemed completely unfazed since I caught him, grabbed my wrist and glared at me.
Every emotion was written all over his face, but I didn't want to respond to anything he was doing right now.
His feelings weren't my responsibility. He and my father were the ones who had deceived me. They should be the ones held accountable for making me a victim.
"Don't you dare leave this room," Damien said in an authoritative tone. I met his gaze with equal intensity, then gave a cynical smirk, showing the disgust I felt at that moment.
"Who do you think you are, feeling entitled to boss me around?" I said as I forcefully shook off his grip. "I'm just doing what I want."
I turned to my father, who stood silent. "No one can break me."
Damien froze, clenching the hand I'd just pushed away. Yet, not a single word came from his mouth—he simply let me go in the end.
