Cherreads

Chapter 29 - 29

Racine is currently sitting down in one of the office chairs, the three of them inside what seems to be a company meeting room.

Alex was smiling while he spun round and round on his chair.

Meanwhile Okarina is silently sewing a fancy looking cloak.

Days have passed and this routine has been made.

For the past few days Racine has been reading the survival guide and found himself bored out of his mind.

Now that the problem of survival is gone, There really was not much to do.

He even decided to do some body exercise too with Alex to pass the time and have a bit of a boost if a chase happens again.

Still the time without internet was hell.

"Do you want some of this?" Alex pushed a peanut butter bisquit in front of Racine.

Racine pushed it away with his hand, "I'm full"

"Alright" Alex said like a scolded dog with its ears down low.

'Annoying' Racine thought to himself.

Racine snatched the bisquit from Alex's hand, "I eat it later" He said placing it on his bag along with the other uneaten food.

Racine patted down the bag bat Okarina made, Just like the game counterpart Okarina was very skilled at sewing.

"Do you think my sister would see my message?" Alex asked him and Racine only relied with a short, 'I don't know'

A few days ago Alex had decided to go back to the rooftop to place a sign for his sister but it was only answered by more undead biting into him with his every visit.

"It's a good thing Ms Okarina had some sort of barrier that would push those things away" Alex pointed at Okarina whose wyes remain locked on her sewing.

'Barrier my ass' Racine scoffed, 'Wasn't she more of a merchant'

When Racine woke up after the long fever, the new set of clothes and a strange room surprise him the most.

"Who changed my clothes?" That's the first thing Racine had questioned only to be confused even more.

"Oh this girl just magic you away" Alex replied with a tired voice.

"Did the undead followed us?"

"That girl seems to have a barrier set up, i checked and they didn't dare cross this floor"

In other words, Racine let out a sigh. Racine and Alex was currently in some sort of safe zone.

Racine had indeed noticed the game concepts of this sudden turn of events but he didn't think there would be safe zones and merchants.

There was even a market place that awakeners can access.

"Status Window" Racine silently whispered but like always nothing appeared.

Running a hand on his face Racine looked at Alex and Okarina.

'Now What'

There is no reason the system would just let them camp in one spot.

There is a reason why those undead was overpowered to begin with.

And Just how safe are they really?

And why did Okarina save him and Alex when she could have just hid.

Alex too his surprisingly calm for someone just abandoned and survived a near death encounter.

Are the three of them under influence of an ability???
