"Lior?"
Ezra was running.
His feet pounded against polished stone as he pushed himself forward without stopping.
The feeling was painfully familiar.
It reminded him of the day he ran through streets and forests searching for Lior.
Searching.
Praying.
Trying to save him.
But this time…
He was inside the palace grounds.
Heliocrest.
Somehow, he knew exactly where he was.
And that was what frightened him.
"Lior, where are you?" Ezra calls out, his voice echoing through the empty corridors.
No answer.
Only silence.
His heart pounded harder.
He was worried.
He was scared.
Because Lior wasn't beside him.
"Kaelis?" Ezra shouted, turning another corner. "Kaelis, are you there? Anyone?"
He just wanted to find someone.
Anyone.
Someone who could tell him Lior was safe.
"Love?"
His voice cracked.
Still nothing.
He didn't even know why he was here.
He wasn't supposed to be in Heliocrest.
He was supposed to be…
