"Let's pick lunch up on the way," Zade muttered, not turning to look at Rai.
Rai didn't respond. He just stared ahead until, finally, he turned his head toward Zade.
"I... have to go to school. My stuff is still there."
Truthfully, Rai didn't care about his things. His phone and his wallet were already in his pockets, and they were the only items that actually mattered. But he wanted to see it. He wanted to take a minute to just stand there and glare at that collapsed wall.
He wanted to think about how Rony was under there. In pain. Probably terrified.
Rai didn't know why he was being so unreasonable, why he was actively trying to torture himself, but he just... needed to. Maybe he was so shocked by everything that he'd finally gone crazy.
That felt like a very good guess, because why the hell was he suddenly feeling good about the bastard sitting next to him? Not that he didn't still hate Zade. But... the bastard wasn't being that bad.
