Chaos was everywhere. People mourned their lost loved ones and focused their anger on their respective government. Most of the ones that died were the fraction of the people that didn't chose to train knowing about the training stats ability. David felt stressed for the whole 2 days of rest that the game makers accorded. He used every single ounce of mental strength he had left to continue training in those two days. Jim and Anna continued to train together as well.
In those two days, more than 20 small countries turned into dictatorships controlled by rebellion groups because of the distrust between the people and the governments. The situation was controlled in Groveland, but it also didn't assure that it always would be.
David's strength was now almost impossible to improve as the weight needed to break his limits was almost unfindable in a single gym. In fact, in terms of only strength, He was one of the strongest human in the world. He changed from a small and weak boy into a muscular one. However, each night was a nightmare for him as he imagined killing the old man each time he tried to sleep. Jim started sleeping in Anna's home more and more. David's screams were probably the reason.
Their relation started growing apart.
2 days later...
It was then time to go to the usual place the trio would meet at and wait for the strange commentator. After some time, he descended from the sky and since it was the third time, the reaction were less than before.
He announced, "Hello, everyone! It is time to start our secound round. Let's start! »
We teleported and David ended up in the same dark place as last time, but with a door named Floor 2 infront of him.
[Task: Beat a small dungeon in an hour]
[Reward: Added Exp. and +1 in stamina]
[Penalty: Death]
He entered the door and prepared himself to face another challenge.
Around him were three other person. The first one had blond hair like Jim, he said his name was Mark. He looked average and was rather timid. The two others were also male and had no interesting traits. There names were as original: Michael and Ken. Behind the 4 of them were lots of weapons of all sort on a silver tray. David chose a short metal knife to use his newly acquired skill and the others also picked weapons that pleased them. When they did, a path around them opened up showing a dark and small tunnel wide enough for exactly 4 people.
David and Mark chose to walk in front of the group while the other guys stood behind them. The first opponent came without fail. Two human-like monsters: goblins. They were green and were exactly as tall as David. They had short knifes and one of them immediately lunged at Mark. David blocked the attack using his knife with unexpected ease as the skill named basic knife mastery gave him the same skill with the weapon as someone that trained for exactly 2 weeks with a dagger.
Then, David disarmed him by cutting its left wrist smoothly and proceeded with a slash across the goblin's throat. After this, the one remaining goblin seemed to want to flee in front of the 4 intruders, but David clearly had other plans as he rushed at the second one not minding the notifications reminding him of his first kill. The goblin seemed scared or at least close to it as it ran away as fast as it could.
« Help! Help! Guys! A HUMAAan.. »
Before he could finish ending his plea, a small dagger appeared in front of it as David planted his knife in the goblin's body while it was running. Its cries alerted his group because 4 goblins were now facing the human group. The goblins seemed to want to retreate as the weapons that the human holded seemed way more advanced. The 2 bodies on the floors were also a big part in that reason.
After some time, the goblins decided to lunge at them thinking that they had the advantage. One of the reasons for that choice was probably the fact that Mark's longsword was planted in the ground of the cave because of the difficulty he had moving it. Honestly, the goblins were only thinking about David as his bloody dagger and the face of the other 3 were helping them understand who was a threat. Michael and Ken started going straight into the two goblins on the right and as the 4 of them clashed, David attacked the two other goblins on the left. David stepped back to dodge a horizontal attack of the crafty goblin and sprinted back to slash his sword into the chest of the goblin cutting straight through it.
Then he started clashing with the other two with difficulty. The battle was pretty hard, but their weak level with the weapon and their weak body was making them nothing compared to David. He killed one with his knife by slashing his throat once again and knocked the other out with a punch on the jaw. He finished him quickly as it could still wake up any second now. While for the fight between the two humans and the goblins, Ken ended up with a small injury on his waist but nothing too deep and Michael was the one who got the merit for the two kills. Mark in the other hand had finally gotten his sword out of the ground.
They then continued walking forward with new found determination because of David's incredible performance. New hords of goblins came every 10 minutes and David would sometimes let the others contribute as he needed to rest. Then, the group ended up in the dungeon room facing an enraged orc.
The boss of the dungeon was probably enraged of watching his kind get killed while David was tired of answering his team's questions on how to get stronger. The boss looked like a regular tall human, but green. He had a huge sort of bat in his right hand. The others 3 backed away while David stayed on the same footing.
"Right handed, so I should attack his left.", he muttered.
This type of info were new for him but the F rank skill gave him those when holding any type of short knife. It was the restriction of his own skill. The only reason David was even happy enough of the F rank skill was because he could upgrade it. He felt new satisfaction every time his skill proficiency went up. Although it was still nowhere near 100%. 20% was where he was at. The 20% gave him more memories of battle experience. David felt like every fight was a lesson on how to get stronger.
"Come fight me you crazy murderer!", the ogre screamed.
-"What?!"
The boss smashed his bat on where David would've been a second ago.
