Chapter 353 - Chapter 353 Confession, Planning

The next day.

Toshiro did not stay in the 10th Division to handle affairs but went to the 3rd Division.

3rd Division's Captain's Office.

"Amagai, have you calmed down?"

Toshiro looked at Shusuke before him.

Shusuke's expression was complex: "Captain Hitsugaya..."

Although he had believed Toshiro's words when Toshiro explained the truth to him before, he still combined Toshiro's account and reinvestigated the matter of his father yesterday.

The results of the investigation showed that Toshiro was right. Yamamoto could not be considered his father's murderer. His real enemy was Kumoi.

"Alright, since you've figured it out, come with me."

Saying this, Toshiro turned and started to walk out.

"Where to?"

Shusuke asked, looking at Toshiro's retreating figure.

"To the 1st Division, to see your father's teacher, the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13… Yamamoto Genryusai Shigekuni."

Toshiro said with his back to Shusuke.

Hearing Toshiro's words, Shusuke's body trembled slightly, and a look of guilt appeared on his face.

"Let's go. It's time to explain your situation to Genryusai-sensei. Also, I've promised someone to protect Rurichiyo, so it's time to deal with that buffoon Kumoi. But before that, I need to inform Genryusai-sensei."

With that, Toshiro walked straight out.

Shusuke hesitated in his heart for a moment, then, no longer wavering, followed.

1st Division, Captain-Commander's Office.

"Do you have something to discuss, Toshiro, Amagai?"

Yamamoto put down the document in his hand and looked up at Toshiro and Shusuke, who had suddenly visited.

"Genryusai-sensei, we came this time indeed to explain an important matter to you."

Toshiro said solemnly.

Then Toshiro looked at Shusuke: "You should be the one to explain, Shusuke."

Hearing this, Yamamoto also looked at Shusuke.

Thud!

Shusuke suddenly knelt before Yamamoto.

"Hmm?"

Yamamoto couldn't help but show a surprised expression. Even if he was the Captain-Commander and his status was higher than other Captains, it wasn't to the point of requiring such a grand gesture.

"Captain-Commander-dono, I have deceived everyone. 'Amagai Shusuke' is not my real name. My surname is not 'Amagai'."

Shusuke looked guiltily at Yamamoto: "My father was Kisaragi Shin'etsu."

"What!"

Yamamoto's eyes widened in shock.

"What is this all about?"

Yamamoto quickly asked.

Then Shusuke slowly recounted his story: "It started back then, on the day of my father's accident. I thought his behavior was very strange at the time, so I went to the place where he usually trained his Zanpakuto to find him. There, I discovered my father, mortally wounded and dying..."

"And before he died, my father mentioned your name, Captain-Commander-dono, and also told me to beware of the Bakkoto. So I suspected you had killed my father and immediately fled from home and went into hiding."

Yamamoto understood: "I see. Back then, after Shin'etsu died, I sent people to his home to find his family, wanting to take care of them. But the people I sent reported that his home was already empty."

Back when Shin'etsu died, out of guilt, Yamamoto wanted to take in his family to care for them. But the people he sent said the house was empty.

At the time, Yamamoto thought Kumoi had eliminated all traces by killing Shin'etsu's family too. He never expected that Shusuke had proactively fled.

Shusuke continued, "It wasn't until a few years after my father's death, when things had calmed down, that I dared to show my face. Then, to investigate the specific circumstances of my father's death, I changed my name, pretended to be a commoner from the Rukongai, and joined the Gotei 13 under the name 'Amagai Shusuke'."

"Then, within the Gotei 13, I gathered intelligence everywhere. After many years of investigation, I finally discovered the matter of the Bakkoto."

"Ultimately, based on some vague information, I judged that my father had discovered the Bakkoto incident back then and investigated it alone. To gather intelligence on the Bakkoto, he infiltrated the Kasumioji Clan alone."

"From this, I concluded that my father had obtained some important evidence and was therefore killed by you, who were cooperating with the Kasumioji Clan."

"So, to take revenge, I chose to join the Hueco Mundo Expeditionary Force, hoping to gain merit, rise to a high position, and thus get close to you, Captain-Commander-dono, to find an opportunity for revenge."

"Then, as everyone knows, after countless battles and some achievements, I became the Commander-in-Chief of the Hueco Mundo Expeditionary Force on the recommendation of Captain Hitsugaya. Now, I have returned to the Soul Society and become a Captain."

"But it wasn't until the day before yesterday, when Captain Hitsugaya found me and explained the truth, that I realized I had misunderstood you, Captain-Commander-dono. The ones truly responsible for my father's death were Kumoi and the Bakkoto, not you."

"So, I am sorry! Captain-Commander-dono!"

Thud!

kowtowed forcefully.

Yamamoto Yamamoto looked at Shusuke with a complex expression: "Get up, Shusuke. Regardless, I bear responsibility for your father's death. If I hadn't agreed to let him infiltrate the Kasumioji Clan to investigate, he wouldn't have died."

Yamamoto was deeply pained by Shin'etsu's death, let alone the fact that Shin'etsu had died by his own hand.

Then Yamamoto stepped forward and helped Shusuke up.

"You've been through a lot these years, child."

Yamamoto said with some emotion.

"Cough."

Toshiro suddenly coughed and said, "Genryusai-sensei, although I know you want to have a good talk with Shusuke, I think it's better to deal with Kumoi and the Bakkoto first, don't you think?"

"Kumoi and the Bakkoto, huh..."

A cold light flashed in Yamamoto's eyes.

"That's right. The Kasumioji Clan is second only to the Four Great Noble Families and possesses a series of privileges like extraterritoriality. Currently, Kumoi controls the power of the Kasumioji Clan. Under normal circumstances, not only do we lack evidence, but even if we had evidence, moving against him wouldn't be easy."

"But the situation is different now. The Central 46 were slaughtered by Aizen. Although this is an unfortunate event, similarly, if we move against Kumoi now, without the Central 46 backing him, he has no chance to escape."

Toshiro said solemnly.

Hearing Toshiro's words, Yamamoto's eyes flickered as he considered whether to immediately seize Kumoi.

After thinking for a while, Yamamoto finally spoke: "Although with the Central 46 all dead, no one can stop me if I order Kumoi's forcible arrest, it's still better to obtain evidence first for such a matter."

"If we directly storm the Kasumioji Residence, won't we find evidence easily?"

Toshiro frowned.

"Of course, I know that. But the Kasumioji Clan is, after all, one of the few noble families in the Soul Society. According to Soul Society's regulations, we have no right to forcibly enter the Kasumioji Residence to investigate."

Yamamoto said earnestly: "Toshiro, you are the Vice-Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 and the next Captain-Commander. If even you don't abide by the rules, who will? So, to arrest Kumoi, it's better to find evidence first and then act."

"Very well."

Toshiro said helplessly.

"Th-That, Captain-Commander-dono, Captain Hitsugaya, if evidence is needed, please let me help!"

Shusuke suddenly spoke up.
