Chapter 14 - The Scarred Lands

Until the group came to a halt, making Rah run to the front

He grew a small smile while looking at the beautiful scenery in front of him

"We made it."

The group stopped in front of a huge lake, which looked to be feeding the river that stretched for miles

On the other side of the lake was a long and wide stretch of red-tipped grass which led to a huge mountain peak

Rah looked at the Mountain surrounded by a huge Forest peak

Rah's eyes lit up, looking at the scene, but he felt a disturbing aura that scared him to the core

Rah's eyes widened, and his pupils dilated as his body froze, but his hand seemed to reach for the sword on his hip instantly

The feeling felt so malicious, but he felt something different; he felt the hatred, the sadness, the land held

But then the feeling disappeared, and Rah almost fell to his knees, but caught himself as he clutched his chest

Gen ran to Rah and held him up as Rah tried to control his fastening Heart Rate

"Rah! What happened?!" Gen says, concerned, as Rah stopped clutching his chest as sweat trickled down his forehead

"The Land is screaming in Agony…The bloodshed that took place here," Rah says, looking at the beautiful scenery that held so much misery

"You can feel that?" Gen asked, shocked because he doesn't feel a thing

"You cant?" Rah asked, looking at Gen, who seemed fine and couldn't feel what Rah was feeling

"My guess is either because you're so in tune with mana or it has something to do with ur Solnarian DNA," Gen says with a thoughtful look as everyone else looked on with concern

Rah stood straight as it died down, but his head was still hurting

"Let's settle over there, in the middle of the Mountain and the lake, so we are an even distance between everything," Rah says, pointing to where he's talking about

The Group nods, not complaining because they know how important their job is, and walks faster than ever to get their spot

When they got to their spot, they put all of their stuff down and finally got a little bit of rest as Rah viewed the scenery, calculating a plan

"A Land so stained by blood, the grass and Trees absorbed it and now have red tips," Rah says, crouching, getting a close look at the grass

He looked at the crimson-tipped grass that matched his hair before standing back up and taking his time to look at the surrounding area

"Our Biggest Concern rn is Shelter and food."

"I'm thinking we build alot of lean-tos and like Three Debris Huts, which fit like two people each, so 6 seriously injured people can rest in them."

Rah then turned to the group that traveled with him and began speaking, "I need like two of you who actually worked with buildings or something close to it."

Among the group, three people stepped up and were all older guys with a little bit of muscle

The first guy began to speak, "The name's Cedric, in my village I was the master builder," He says, stroking his beard as the other began to speak

This guy was big. "Brokk, I'm a Stonemason." he kept his response to what was needed

"The name's Rowan, I'm a carpenter, I'm glad to help, Rah," The man says as Rah nods

"This is better than expected," Rah says before motioning for them to stay right there

He then motions for Gen, who walks right over, "Yeah?"

"We have to split The Rest into Three Groups. I want One Group to go out and catch food for all of us, The Second to be the kids who I'm gonna be with to collect Big Leaves, Grass stuff like that to cover the shelter we're building," Rah spoke

Gen nods, "What about the last group?"

"They're gonna go collect the rocks and branches for this stuff."

"The Three Of You are gonna be with the Third Group and are going to be the lead for that group since you guys know best."

"Gen, you're with the First Group, and as I said, I'm with the second group, which is gonna be the kids."

Rah then looked at the group of people before speaking, "If you are 14 and under, go over there. If you have experience with hunting or fighting, go over there, and if you have big muscles or are strong, go over there," Rah states, giving qualifications for each group so each can do their job with maximum efficiency

The Groups quickly divide themselves and seem to be even, and five people seem to be left over because they don't fit any of the builds

"You five will join my Group," Rah says, making them nod as they run to his group

"Squad leads, to ensure none of us go missing, you will count how many members you have, including yourself."

"We don't have that much time right now, but later we're gonna refine this system," Rah says before turning around and counting the people in his group

The others did the same and counted everybody in their group

"My Group has 50, counting my two companions and me," The Master Builder says, stroking his beard contentedly because they'll definitely get enough supplies

"My group has 21, counting me," Gen says as Rah nods

"My Group has 17, counting me… that means in total about 88 of us."

"Let's keep it that way…from now on, we will only add, not subtract," Rah states as the others nod

"We are each other's keepers, so make sure the person to the left and right of you is doing what they're supposed to," Rah continues as everyone takes in what he's saying, looking at one another

"I have nothing more to say. Leaders take your teams to do the chosen task," Rah finishes as everyone heads to do their task

Rah stretched a little bit before turning around, facing his group, all who are young, and as Rah observes, something catches his eye

One of them had pointed ears

"You're an Elf?" Rah ask curriosly

The elf glanced at him before looking away. "Yeah, what of it?" He says with crossed arms, not even looking in Rah's direction

"Nothing, I just never heard of an Elf with Black Hair…I think," Rah says, thinking about all the stories he's heard over the years

The black-haired elf shoots him a side eye, which Rah takes as a sign to shut up

"Alright, enough talking; let's go"
