Villains die from talking too much—especially a villain like Urashiki, who loved to yap whenever he had the chance.
Makoto said, "Thank me? No need. Besides, you're thanking me too early."
Urashiki's consciousness had already begun to withdraw into silence, yet he still wore a gentle smile.
"Though I am surprised that a lower lifeform like you managed to evolve your body to such a high level...
"But a lower lifeform is still a lower lifeform. As expected, you understand nothing.
"Well then, until we meet again. We definitely will meet again."
The moment he finished speaking, Urashiki closed his eyes and became a corpse.
One could only say that he had miscalculated.
While Higashino Makoto didn't know the Ōtsutsuki Clan particularly well, he at least knew they were notoriously difficult to kill. They possessed a means of resurrection through the Kāma.
A host branded with a Kāma served as the vessel through which an Ōtsutsuki could be reborn.
The requirements for a vessel were extremely strict—not just anyone qualified.
Judging from what Urashiki had implied, Makoto met those qualifications.
However, his strength was simply too great, and his life level too high.
Planting a Kāma in his body would be a dangerous gamble.
It might very well end up like throwing a meat bun at a dog—gone forever with no return.
And among everyone present, aside from Makoto, only Boruto clearly possessed the qualifications.
After Urashiki's consciousness dissipated, Makoto carefully examined the battered corpse left behind.
He discovered that Urashiki's soul, chakra, and even cellular vitality had all vanished, as though they had disappeared into thin air.
It was similar to what happened to creatures annihilated by primordial white natural energy—nothing remained except an empty shell.
At that moment, the older Sasuke and the four kids ran over.
The older Sasuke drew his sword and drove it straight into Urashiki's forehead.
"Looks like he's really dead."
Boruto finally let out a sigh of relief.
"We finally got rid of this guy. Sensei, now we can head back to our own world without worrying."
The moment he finished speaking, a pale hand suddenly burst out of the ground and grabbed his ankle.
The hand belonged to Urashiki.
At some point, it had been hiding beneath the earth and rocks.
Unexpectedly, Boruto didn't jump back in fright.
Instead, he looked down at the hand with great interest and even bent down as if intending to grab it.
The hand seemed to sense something and hurriedly tried to burrow back underground.
But Boruto snatched it up before it could escape.
Then he dispelled his Transformation Technique.
It was actually one of Makoto's shadow clones in disguise.
Only then did another of Makoto's shadow clones arrive from the distance with the real Boruto.
The moment he landed, Boruto asked, "Makoto-sensei, how did you know Urashiki was plotting something?"
"Aren't you the ones who said he's from beyond this world? If he's an alien, then naturally he'd have strange abilities different from those of people in the ninja world. Of course we'd need to be extra cautious."
"But all you did was tell me to stay where I was and have a clone disguise itself as me. It was almost like you already knew I was his target."
Because I have a god's-eye view, but I don't want to say that out loud.
Half-seriously and half-jokingly, Makoto explained, "Because you're weak. And the sensei protecting you is in pretty rough shape too. Yet even so, Urashiki never tried to kill you. Doesn't that strike you as strange?"
"And your sensei said bringing you along for this battle might produce some unexpected results. Back then, I started thinking that perhaps, to the Ōtsutsuki Clan, you're someone special."
"Looks like my guess was right."
"You're definitely special. The guy died and still came looking for you."
"Could it be... you borrowed a huge amount of money from him and never paid it back?"
Boruto: "..."
This world's version of Dad's teacher really wasn't very serious.
The Ōtsutsuki Clan didn't even have a concept of money, okay?
The older Sasuke: "..."
So my poor physical condition is my fault now?
My wife has never complained about me.
But ever since we arrived in this world, you've been bringing it up nonstop.
Just what exactly are you trying to imply?
...
After completing their mission, Makoto's shadow clones dispelled themselves one after another.
Before disappearing, however, the clone disguised as Boruto handed Urashiki's severed hand to the original body.
The moment it touched his palm, Makoto sensed a stream of information trying to burrow into his hand.
Fortunately, he was a cautious man.
His entire arm was wrapped in primordial white natural energy, leaving only a tiny opening exposed.
Just as he had expected, the information stream instinctively recoiled from the primordial white natural energy.
It immediately followed that tiny opening and slipped into the seal he had deliberately prepared in his palm.
Makoto sent a sliver of consciousness into the seal.
The moment he entered, he heard Urashiki's voice.
"Bastard! What kind of place is this?"
"Your new home."
"Damn it. You really are a sinister bastard."
"You're too kind. That's why I said you thanked me too early."
Urashiki fell silent for a moment before speaking again.
"You seem to have known about the abilities and traits of our clan for quite some time. Who told you?"
"Sorry, but I don't intend to let you die knowing the answer."
"Hehehe... you damned lower lifeform. Do you really think this can hold me?"
"Originally, given your level of existence, I didn't want to take the risk of using you as the vessel for my resurrection."
"But since you've taken the initiative to lock me inside your body and left me no other choice, then I'll just have to give it everything I've got."
"As for who this perfect body will ultimately belong to... that's still very much up in the air."
"Up in the air? Then stop talking to me and go explain it to my natural energy."
In an instant, Makoto's chakra surged into the seal and completely surrounded Urashiki's stream of information.
At this point, his chakra was not much different from secondary white natural energy.
Although it lacked the overwhelming dominance of primordial natural energy, it possessed the same annihilating effect.
That was why anyone killed by his chakra had their soul erased along with their body.
They wouldn't even get the chance to reach the Pure Land and complain to the old Sage of Six Paths.
"AAAHHH—! Damn it, I understand now! You're actually one of the ancient natural gods that disappeared long ago! That's impossible! How can a being from such an ancient era still be born in this age—"
Urashiki didn't even finish expressing his shock before he died completely.
As the chakra continued compressing within the sealed space, the soul consciousness contained within Urashiki's information stream was rapidly annihilated.
Before long, it was wiped out entirely.
In the end, only a large amount of pure energy remained, quietly resting within the seal.
During the process, Makoto passively received a considerable amount of information about the Ōtsutsuki Clan, gaining a much deeper understanding of them.
To put it simply, the clan's population was small, but their business model was the very definition of stripping a pond dry to catch all the fish.
They searched the universe for planets that harbored life, planted God Trees on them, and once the trees had drained the planet's natural energy and produced Chakra Fruits, their mission was complete.
On planets with little natural energy, they would squeeze everything out in a single harvest, turning them into dead worlds.
On planets rich in natural energy, they could sometimes harvest them two or even three times.
They were basically the ninja world's cosmic version of a resource-extracting empire.
Among all those worlds, however, the ninja world was unique.
According to ancient secrets Urashiki had uncovered through his own investigations, this world possessed extraordinarily favorable conditions. The history of God Trees being planted here stretched back much further than the arrival of the Rabbit Goddess, Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
Even Momoshiki and Kinshiki were unaware of this.
Those two had merely come to investigate why Kaguya and Isshiki had failed to return after their mission deadline passed.
When the Ōtsutsuki planted God Trees in foreign worlds, they generally operated in pairs—a main family member and a branch family member.
The branch family member served as a guardian and, when necessary, was expected to sacrifice themselves for the main family member.
Even during the tree-planting process, if a target planet possessed exceptionally powerful natural energy, the branch family member would have to offer themselves to the God Tree as its initial nourishment and source of strength.
Ōtsutsuki Kinshiki was one such branch family member.
Branch family members were not qualified to use the Kāma resurrection method, nor did they possess the ability to resist the commands of the main family.
Urashiki was also classified as a branch family member.
However, unlike ordinary branch members, he had no partner and was capable of using Kāma.
He was an extremely unusual case.
Because he had originally been a member of the main family.
For certain reasons, he had been punished and demoted to branch family status.
Another person who shared a similar fate was the Rabbit Goddess of the ninja world, the progenitor of chakra—Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
Urashiki didn't know what had happened when Kaguya and Isshiki first arrived in the ninja world.
As a result, citing the unclear situation and excessive danger of the ninja world, he applied to join Momoshiki's team and serve as a guardian alongside Kinshiki.
However, after arriving in the ninja world, he quickly found an excuse to separate from the group.
Officially, he claimed he was secretly investigating what had happened to Kaguya and Isshiki.
In reality, he was pursuing his own private agenda.
He was a remarkably dishonest fellow.
Yet that very dishonesty allowed him to avoid disaster.
Unlike Momoshiki and Kinshiki, who were beaten to death not long after arriving in the ninja world.
As for the natural gods Urashiki had mentioned before his death, according to the limited secret information he possessed, they were rare beings that could only be born on planets overflowing with natural energy during an ancient era long ago.
Although they were born powerful, they were no match for the Ōtsutsuki Clan.
They had been exterminated long ago.
And because the Ōtsutsuki had spread chakra throughout the universe, it was now virtually impossible for new natural gods to be born.
That was why Urashiki had been so shocked by Makoto's existence.
But Makoto knew he wasn't some natural god.
Nor had his ancestors ever been.
He was a genuine ordinary human of the ninja world.
It was only because of the unique soul he had gained through transmigration that he was able to access the primordial natural energy that no one else could utilize, steadily training his way to his current level.
One could only say that he possessed certain traits similar to those of so-called natural gods.
Natural gods typically controlled only specific authorities.
They were born powerful, but their upper limits were fixed from the start.
Makoto, on the other hand, began as nothing more than a weak and ordinary human of the ninja world.
Yet precisely because of that, his potential had never been locked in place.
His future held limitless possibilities.
