Leo stood perfectly still outside Room 106, the phantom sensation of Elsa's presence vibrating through his chest like a sudden current.
He scanned the immediate area with sharp, searching eyes, desperately trying to catch a glimpse of her familiar silhouette, but the corridor remained completely empty.
The deep mystery of her sudden appearances and disappearances was beginning to wear heavily on his mind.
Before he could ponder the thought any further, his phone buzzed sharply in his palm, displaying an urgent incoming call from the police station.
Leo stepped away from the door, answering the call in a low, controlled voice as he began walking toward the main elevator bank.
A few yards down the hallway, Doctor Mike was standing near a nurse's desk, holding a heavy stack of medical charts as he flagged down Doctor Yash.
"Doctor Yash, we need to discuss the critical state of Miss Leah," Doctor Mike began, his tone laced with deep professional worry.
"She was admitted to our facility roughly a month ago as an extreme accident case, having sustained a massive amount of severe internal and external injuries."
"She is currently trapped in a deep coma, suffering from immense blood loss and a significant brain clot that has not dissipated."
"At this stage, she is completely failing to respond to our standard medications and treatments."
"She is a highly special and complex case, Doctor, and we desperately require an advanced, specialized treatment protocol for her."
"I want you to personally review her neurological and vitals reports right now."
"We have been trying to contact your office for days, and honestly, we did not expect you to arrive at this specific branch so quickly."
Doctor Yash took the charts, flipping through the pages with a serious expression.
"I received a direct, urgent call from Sir Richard himself, given his position as the supreme Chairman of this hospital network," Doctor Yash explained.
"Since Leo was in an exceptionally critical condition after his accident, I had to drop everything and travel here immediately."
"However, I have already thoroughly reviewed this patient's past records, and I have even checked on the girl myself during my rounds."
"Her condition is truly precarious, and while I have successfully treated similar comatose patients in the past, bringing her back to a normal state will require a massive risk."
Doctor Mike leaned closer, his eyes narrowing.
"What exact kind of risk are we talking about, Doctor Yash?"
"The primary risk factor is that while we can technically perform the advanced operation, if anything goes wrong during the procedure, the person treating her will face severe legal and professional consequences."
"Are there any immediate family members present around here to sign the waiver forms?"
Doctor Mike sighed heavily, shaking his head.
"Her closest friend is the only one who has been by her side, and she is actually admitted to this very hospital right now."
Doctor Yash closed the file with a sharp snap.
"She immediately requires an incredibly expensive line of treatment to keep her body alive, and we must order specialized injections directly from Australia."
"Those specific medications are the only things capable of aiding her neural recovery and forcing her mind to come out of this coma."
Before Doctor Mike could respond, Nurse Carla came running down the corridor, her face pale as she clutched an outstanding ledger.
"Doctor Mike!" Carla gasped, catching her breath.
"Patient Leah's medical bills and outstanding balances haven't received a single payment for over a week now."
"We have been repeatedly trying to call her representative, Mr. Oliver, but he is completely refusing to pick up our calls."
Doctor Mike's expression instantly crumpled into deep shock.
"Oh no."
"Miss Leah requires uninterrupted medical care; if her treatment is stopped for even a single day, she will surely die."
"Miss Leah needs her vitals monitored and supported each and every hour."
Doctor Mike turned to Carla, his voice tight.
"What is the status of her friend, Kayla?"
"Kayla remains entirely unconscious in her room, and the tests confirm she is pregnant as well," Nurse Carla revealed in a broken whisper.
"Please do something, Doctor; Miss Leah absolutely must survive this."
Doctor Mike placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, trying to steady his own voice.
"Calm down, Carla; we will find a way to make everything fine."
A few paces away, Leo had just finished his brief conversation with the police, lowering his phone as the frantic voices of the medical staff caught his attention.
He stood near the corner, listening intently to the desperate conversation between Carla, Mike, and Doctor Yash.
"Leah is such a genuinely good girl, and she deserves to survive this tragedy," Carla cried softly.
"But without the financial clearance for the treatment..." Doctor Yash countered, his voice trailing off.
Leo stepped out from the shadows, his face an unreadable mask of authority as he walked directly toward the group.
"Is everything fine over here?" Leo asked, his deep voice instantly cutting through their panic.
Doctor Mike startled slightly, quickly adjusting his coat as he offered a polite nod.
"Everything is perfectly fine with your own health reports, Leo, but you still need to be exceptionally careful during your recovery."
Leo narrowed his eyes, looking directly into the physician's tense face.
"You look completely stressed out right now."
"Is everything alright with the ward?"
"I apologize, but I happened to overhear a portion of your conversation just now, and you must remember that I am a member of the Board of Directors for this entire hospital network."
"You can share absolutely any internal issue with me."
Nurse Carla and Doctor Mike looked at each other before finally revealing the entire tragedy of the month-old accident, repeatedly referring to the comatose patient as "Miss Leah."
Leo listened in silence, his expression hardening as the sheer injustice of the situation settled into his mind.
Without saying a word, he reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out his personal, unlimited platinum-black credit card, and extended it directly toward Nurse Carla.
The surrounding staff and doctors gasped in absolute shock, staring at the legendary card resting in his fingers.
"Draw whatever astronomical amount is necessary from this card and begin her advanced treatment immediately," Leo commanded firmly.
He turned his gaze back to Doctor Mike, his voice echoing with absolute authority.
"Not only for this girl, but I want you to immediately authorize the advanced treatments of any other patients in this facility if their families are facing a shortage of money."
Doctor Mike stammered, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Sir... but... the administrative costs—"
"I am well aware that this institution is owned and operated by my family," Leo interrupted, his tone turning deeply emotional.
"Human lives are infinitely more important than pieces of paper, and I know exactly how agonizing it feels when someone loses their loved ones."
"I have already experienced that profound, shattering pain when I lost my grandfather, and also when I lost my love..."
Leo abruptly cut his own sentence short, his mind flashing vividly to the memory of his past love, the tragic girl he used to teasingly call "Miss Mad."
He cleared his throat, pushing the painful memories back down into the dark corners of his heart before locking eyes with the doctors.
"START THE TREATMENT."
"Furthermore, the entirety of this girl's complete treatment cost will be billed directly to my personal accounts."
"I am also writing a blank cheque right now to ensure there is absolutely no delay in ordering those injections from Australia."
"As the Vice Chairman of this medical board, I am officially giving you a direct instruction."
"You guys are authorized to take any financial or logistical help necessary from my family's estate for the sake of the patients and their survival."
"Never stop a single medical treatment because of a lack of money."
"I will personally speak to my father regarding this policy change today."
Doctor Mike and Doctor Yash stared at the young music mogul, deeply impressed and moved by his immense kindness and nobility.
Before they could thank him, Leo's phone began to ring violently again, the screen flashing with the police captain's number.
"I have some highly important business to attend to immediately," Leo stated, his tone shifting back to absolute seriousness.
He hurriedly pulled out his pen, signed his name with a fluid stroke across the bottom of a blank cheque, thrust it into Doctor Mike's hands, and walked briskly toward the exit.
Nurse Carla watched his retreating figure, completely mesmerized by his benevolent nature as tears of relief filled her eyes.
"What a truly great man," she whispered to the empty air.
Leo arrived at the central police precinct within twenty minutes, marching straight into the private office of Captain Kevin.
The officer looked up, his face etched with gravity as he motioned for Leo to take a seat.
"Sir, the situation regarding your cousin Easton has turned exceptionally dark," Kevin revealed, sliding a heavy case file across the desk.
"Easton actively attempted to murder a young girl a month ago, and he was arrested at the scene, but he has officially escaped from our high-security custody."
"He is currently facing a multitude of severe, non-bailable criminal charges."
Leo gripped the edge of the desk, a dangerous, dark fire igniting in his eyes as he absorbed the betrayal.
"If these charges are proven to be true, I am absolutely not going to spare him this time."
"How many horrific mistakes does he intend to commit in his lifetime?"
Leo leaned forward, his voice dropping into a demanding whisper.
"Who exactly is that helpless girl he targeted?"
"How is her current condition?"
"Is she even alive right now?"
Kevin sighed, rubbing his tired eyes.
"I don't possess the specific identity details here, sir, as she was rushed away in a critical ambulance immediately after the attack."
"Her close friend helped her and managed to get her admitted into a specialized hospital nearby."
"My latest brief confirms that she is technically alive, but I don't know anything else about her personal details or her current status."
A sudden wave of deep worry washed over Leo, and his mind instantly connected the timeline to the conversation he had just witnessed in his own hospital corridors.
"I don't care about Easton's excuses anymore," Leo stated, his voice ringing with pure steel.
"I want that helpless girl found, and I want to know exactly how she is recovering."
"Track my cousin down immediately, and track the location of that girl as well."
"I will personally ensure my cousin receives the absolute harshest punishment for his actions."
"I am deeply worried about the safety of that girl."
Leo stood up, turning his back to the officer as his internal thoughts roared with raw fury against his own bloodline.
"Easton, you have made a countless number of terrible mistakes since our childhood days, and I always stepped in to punish you and tried to force you to change your ways."
"But the horrific mistake you have committed this time is an unpardonable sin."
"You actually tried to take a human life."
"I will personally ensure you receive your ultimate punishment this time."
