Her touch was light, but the coffin lid still made an unavoidable, faint sound.
Fortunately, the two ghosts outside weren't in the grave with her. Timing it carefully, Ming Yue pushed a little harder, finally opening a small crack.
The light was still dim, but it was a great improvement over the complete darkness inside the coffin.
Gathering her strength, Ming Yue pushed the lid open little by little until she could poke her head out.
She saw the same dilapidated, dirt-filled structure and let out a careful sigh. Then, forcing her body to twist and contort, she squeezed out through the small gap she had created.
Luckily, her slender frame meant it didn't take too much effort.
Once she was out of the coffin, her first thought was to escape the grave itself.
'But where's the door?'
Su Nian's voice reminded her just then.
"There's no door. Just dig your way out from beside the coffin."
"Dig with my hands?"
Ming Yue asked.
