The two groups reached the destination at almost the same time. But Gu Xi's party had been closer, which just went to show how quickly Dr. Qi had moved.

Qi Xiang and the others exchanged a look. Across from them, Dr. Qi and several assistants were already bustling around the strange plant. Qi Xiang thought for a moment and went to help as usual, but this time—whether intentionally or not—she was subtly nudged aside by the assistants flanking Dr. Qi.
Qi Xiang raised a thoughtful eyebrow, took a few steps back to stand beside Gu Xi, and gestured with her eyes for her to look over.
Dr. Qi's group was observing and taking samples. The tiny patch of ground was completely encircled by them, making it impossible for anyone else to squeeze in. Fortunately, Gu Xi didn't need to get closer to see, so she was content to wait to the side.
