Chapter 314 - Welcome to the New World

As the Fire Fist seal manifested, Shiraishi discovered that the mirror had not only absorbed the memories and consciousness of its original owner but had also drawn in a unique, wandering soul.

Though it was currently in a state of chaotic flux, Shiraishi was certain: the consciousness of the man whose body lay before him had been pulled into this world.

It was a stroke of miraculous fortune. The newly refined Seven Treasures Tree had delivered a grand gift right out of the gate.

However, Shiraishi was momentarily uncertain how to handle this "lucky bag" from another dimension.

Perhaps it was precisely because the Seven Treasures Tree had "brushed" against that soul that the corpse had appeared here.

The man had died recently; his soul had still been lingering nearby, meaning that, in theory, resurrection was possible.

With this thought, Shiraishi spat out a globule of Inorganic Reincarnation fluid. The vast life-giving power coated the corpse, and Shiraishi was surprised to find that the flesh still possessed incredible vitality.

Compared to the bodies of his own world, which were saturated with chakra over years of training, this physical form was vastly superior.

As the Inorganic Reincarnation energy seeped into the gaping hole in the chest, Shiraishi noted that the body's density far surpassed that of a normal human.

If a typical person's physical strength in this world was rated as a 1, this man's strength was easily a 10.

Refining him into a Human Puppet seems like a waste, Shiraishi mused. The Five Elephant Arts can't split any further, and for a fire-attribute vessel, I already have Uchiha Kaede.

"Resurrect him," Hagoromo Matou spoke up within Shiraishi's mindscape, drawing a sharp sideways glance from Uchiha Kaede.

Though Shiraishi had the intention, he was surprised Matou would intervene. "You think so too?"

Matou's cultivation granted him a faint, hazy precognition of the future. "I have a feeling. His value alive far outweighs his value in this state."

"Then let's start the show..."

The consciousness within the mirror was hazy, but Shiraishi's perception detected no malice or deceit. This wasn't the soul of a treacherous villain; he was worth the effort of revival.

Shiraishi's fingers suddenly erupted with countless chakra threads, transforming into thousands of needles in the air. As they pierced the body, Shiraishi began a surgical operation of staggering complexity.

As the Kazekage, Shiraishi's medical ninjutsu might not have rivaled Konoha's Tsunade, but he was easily on par with Chiyo—though he would admit Granny Chiyo was still the undisputed professional when it came to delivering babies.

Under the combination of Inorganic Reincarnation and the young man's powerful constitution, the wound began to show signs of closing.

Simultaneously, Shiraishi unsealed a Fire Sealing Method scroll to draw out the residual "magma fire" that was still corroding the internal organs.

Once the magma fire was neutralized, Shiraishi used Inorganic Reincarnation to reconstruct the heart. As the organ regained its vitality, it suddenly ignited, generating a surge of powerful life force.

People often spoke of the "Fire of Life" being lit, but it was rare to see a heart literally burst into flames. Or was his original power inherently tied to this?

As the heart burned fiercely, it began to fuse with the surrounding natural energy. Though the flames eventually settled, Shiraishi could feel an even more abundant life force taking root.

A Fire-Controller's constitution...

Shiraishi, who also possessed fire-attribute chakra, watched as the flame within the young man's heart began to synthesize with the natural energy of this world, forming a brand-new power system.

Pure, natural fire?

This scene was very similar to how Shiraishi felt when he first used a skill card—a form of "localization" and refinement of an ability.

While his original powers still existed, certain laws had shifted. Unlike the Glasses System, which actively modified skill cards, this man's body was performing a "self-adjustment," proactively compromising with the laws of this new world.

Perhaps this was the result of a compromise between the rules of two dimensions during the crossing.

After an hour of painstaking repair with Inorganic Reincarnation and chakra threads, Shiraishi finally stitched the body back together.

Even for someone as strong as Shiraishi, the ordeal left him feeling physically drained.

I am never doing surgery again. This is far too much trouble...

Finally, it was time for the consciousness to return.

Shiraishi's spiritual blade transformed into a whirlwind, stabbing into the mirror's surface. He guided the soul out and, under the control of his mental energy, slowly integrated it back into the young man's body.

During the process, Shiraishi caught flashes of the man's memories.

He saw a man who would apologize profusely if he accidentally disturbed others or if his relatives caused trouble. A man who would personally use a napkin to clean his plate after a meal.

He saw a boy who, after losing a brother in his youth, resolved to be a role model for his other younger brother, even seeking out others to teach him proper etiquette.

He was a man of strict self-discipline, yet prone to being a bit "spacey"—at one point, he even fell asleep in the middle of a meal. A truly strange character.

The final memory was of him using his last ounce of strength to protect his beloved brother, taking a fatal blow to the gut from molten lava.

Before he died, he told his brother to pass on his gratitude to everyone, smiling through his tears as he realized he had found the true meaning of his existence. He had died without regrets.

A rather interesting fellow...

With the consciousness fully restored and the body mended, Shiraishi condensed a massive amount of golden electricity in his palm, applying a rhythmic, needle-like shock to the man's heart.

After a sharp cough, the freckled young man slowly sat up. His eyes reflected the glow of fire, but they were clouded with confusion.

"Why... why am I here?"

His memories were a mess. He clearly remembered protecting his brother and having his heart pierced by Akainu. By all rights, he shouldn't be alive. Was this the afterlife?

He looked up with effort. Before him stood a young man in a teal cloak, wearing a hat marked with the kanji for "Wind."

The stranger picked up an orange cowboy hat adorned with two smile/frown faces and handed it to him.

"Welcome to the New World."

At the mention of "New World," the young man suddenly burst into a loud, boisterous laugh. He bared the tattoo on his back—the mark of the Whitebeard Pirates.

"What kind of rookie are you? I know the 'New World' a lot better than you do!"

Shiraishi: "...?"
