Chapter 98 - CHAPTER 98

Sa! Mina-san! Today's battle can truly be called one that has attracted tremendous attention!"

A massive close-up image of Rimo appeared on the giant screen to the left of the ring clearly taken from one of his previous matches on the lower floors, likely during his rapid climb past the 100th floor where he overwhelmed opponents without even needing to consciously use advanced Nen techniques like Ten or Ren.

The pose looked casual and unrestrained, but combined with his already striking appearance, it pushed the overall impression to another level. His name, " Rimo," was displayed prominently at the bottom.

The moment the image appeared, the audience erupted:

"Ahhh! Rimo! I love you!!"

" Rimo! Rimo! Number one!!"

Amid the deafening cheers, Rimo slowly rose from the lift platform beneath the left-side screen just like the standard entrance system used on the 200th floor of Heavens Arena, where fighters are treated almost like celebrities.

As he appeared, the commentator's voice rang out with excitement:

"First up Rimo! A fighter who has climbed all the way to the 200th floor with overwhelming dominance! Just like Gon Freecss and Killua Zoldyck when they first arrived here, he chose to fight immediately after promotion! That confidence is simply astonishing!"

"Let's welcome Rimo with a huge round of applause!"

The crowd became even more frenzied.

One overly excited female fan even tore off part of her clothing and shouted:

"Sir Rimo! I want to have your child!"

She was quickly escorted out by security, but not before drawing whistles and laughter from nearby spectators.

"Ah… hahaha… it seems one audience member is particularly enthusiastic," the commentator said awkwardly.

At the same time, the screen on the right lit up, showing Rimo's opponent the one-armed fighter. His name was finally revealed: Child Asa.

Like Rimo, Child Asa slowly rose from the platform.

" Rimo's opponent, Child Asa, currently holds a record of five wins and one loss on the 200th floor!"

Unlike Rimo's detailed introduction, the explanation for Child Asa was brief typical for lesser-known fighters.

Once both fighters stepped onto the ring, the referee glanced between them and sharply waved his hand:

"Match… start!"

Child Asa originally intended to speak, but recalling the chilling sensation Rimo gave him earlier that day, he swallowed his words.

Instead, he focused all his aura his still crude and incomplete Nen into his missing left arm.

[Invisible Hand]!

A mass of aura extended outward like a twisting serpent, distorting the air as it lunged toward Rimo.

"Oh! It's appeared! Child Asa's signature technique the Invisible Hand!" the commentator shouted.

Although most ordinary spectators couldn't see Nen, the distortion of air made the attack barely visible similar to how beginners in Nen unintentionally reveal their aura without proper control like Zetsu.

 Rimo raised an eyebrow slightly.

Not bad… for someone who opened their aura nodes through sheer force instead of proper initiation like Wing taught Gon and Killua.

A wild-type Nen user.

Because he lost his arm during the brutal "baptism" of the 200th floor where uninitiated fighters are often crushed by Nen users he developed an ability centered around that loss.

It reminded Rimo faintly of how extreme conditions shape abilities in Nen, just like the Phantom Troupe members such as Uvogin and Machi Komacine, whose powers reflect their personalities and life experiences.

Thinking of that, Rimo naturally recalled Hisoka Morow's well-known personality analysis of Nen types:

Enhancers like Uvogin and Gon simple, direct, and stubborn.

Transmuters like Killua unpredictable and deceptive.

Manipulators like Illumi Zoldyck controlling and obsessive.

Emitters like Leorio Paradinight straightforward and loyal.

Conjurers often high-strung or intense.

Specialists like Chrollo Lucilfer individualistic and unpredictable.

Child Asa clearly didn't fit the supportive, outward-focused nature of an Emitter.

Which meant his ability would never reach full efficiency.

A waste of potential.

But Rimo didn't expect much from a "rookie killer" anyway.

"Hey !"

Rimo casually shifted his body, effortlessly avoiding the Invisible Hand.

"Oh ! Rimo dodged it! Did he just avoid Child Asa's attack?!"

Child Asa's pupils shrank.

Coincidence?

He immediately redirected the Invisible Hand behind Rimo, launching a sneak attack.

"Shh !"

The attack pierced straight through Rimo's body

but the next moment, Child Asa froze.

It was an afterimage.

Rimo had moved so fast that his vision couldn't keep up something even experienced Nen users struggle with unless they enhance their perception using Gyo.

"What ?! That speed…!"

Before he could react

"Hey !"

 Rimo appeared behind him.

His hand rose, ready to strike.

For a moment, he almost used his Nen ability but paused.

No need to kill.

He still needed more wins.

If he eliminated all four of them at once, he'd lose easy victories and delay his plan to reach ten wins and challenge a Floor Master, just like Uvogin had been waiting months due to lack of challengers.

So instead

he simply used a clean, controlled chop.

"Snap !"

The strike landed precisely on Child Asa's neck.

His vision doubled, blurred, and then darkness.

"Critical hit! Down!"

The referee rushed forward, checked briefly, then stood and crossed his arms in an X:

"Match cannot continue! Winner Rimo!"

The arena exploded.

"YES! That's it! Rimo!!"

"Ahhhhhhh!!!"

"He didn't even use his usual slap this is even cooler!!"

The commentator shouted excitedly:

"Unbelievable! Rimo continues his undefeated streak on the 200th floor!"

"A one-hit victory again and completely unscathed!"

"And just now, we witnessed his incredible speed for the first time! Child Asa had absolutely no time to react!"

"Elegant! Precise! Overwhelming!"

"Can Rimo achieve ten consecutive victories and challenge a Floor Master like the elites of Heavens Arena?!"

"Let's find out in the next match!"
