Chapter 306 - Chapter 326: The Dubai International Motor Show

The issue was that among these Lamborghinis, two were Lambo Venenos and three were Lambo Reventons. The rest were the same level as Mavi's, the Lamborghini Murciélago. With this lineup, Mavi's own car was so common it practically blended in.

While he might have turned a few heads on the road, once he arrived at the Dubai International Motor Show, Mavi finally got his wish: to be a regular rich guy.

But Mavi didn't mind; it was nice to be an ordinary person once in a while. At least he didn't have to deal with all the stares, which could sometimes feel quite uncomfortable.

The launch of the Bugatti Veyron not only attracted local Dubai millionaires but also drew wealthy people from the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and other countries. The hype wasn't just about it being the world's most expensive luxury car; it was also because Bugatti had been acquired by the Mavi Group.

Since many wealthy people missed out on the rare Lamborghini Venenos and Reventons, they came together this time with huge piles of cash, ready to buy the Bugatti Veyron.

Unfortunately, they had no idea what the price would be. Once they found out the truth, many of them would probably cry from the shock.

Wearing a mask, sunglasses, and a hat, Mavi parked his Lamborghini Murciélago and strolled out of the car. He then went through the VIP entrance into the exhibition hall.

The grand hall was designed with a very modern aesthetic, lacking the traditional gold and brown of Arabic style and incorporating many fashionable elements instead, which felt more appropriate for the occasion.

The Bugatti Veyron's booth was in Hall F, an area reserved for world-class luxury car brands like Ferrari, Porsche, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, and Maybach.

Of course, the Mavi Group's other luxury car brand, Lamborghini, was also in Hall F. To avoid overshadowing Bugatti, Lamborghini's two new concept cars were not unveiled on this day. These two cars, not surprisingly, were based on design ideas and elements that Mavi remembered from his past life.

As an ordinary visitor, Mavi followed the crowd to Hall F to see the new models from the various luxury car brands. Near the entrance, the Rolls-Royce Phantom armored vehicle was a favorite among Middle Eastern millionaires. This head-of-state-level armored car was only officially available for pre-order this year.

Mavi glanced at the Rolls-Royce booth and saw several Middle Eastern millionaires in traditional Arabic dress talking to the sales staff in front of the car. Nearby, models posed for media reporters, striking professional poses with sweet smiles.

Mavi casually walked past the Rolls-Royce booth and headed to the central area of the venue, where the four luxury brands—Bugatti, Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini—were gathered.

There were noticeably more reporters and wealthy guests in that central area than in the outer sections. Mavi, in his disguise, even spotted two of his Dubai friends, Amer and Amir, waiting in front of the Bugatti booth for the unveiling ceremony.

Following tradition, the newly developed Bugatti sports car was completely covered by a black velvet cloth. It sat in the middle of the display, with a large LCD screen next to it, which seemed to be ready to play something later.

Besides his Dubai friends, Mavi also noticed quite a few Chinese faces in front of the booth. Since this was the core area of the motor show, the competition was quite fierce. Lamborghini and Bugatti, being part of the same group, had no issues, but their old rival Ferrari and Porsche, with whom Mavi had competed in France, were in a serious battle.

Ferrari had launched the "Enzo Dubai Special Edition," made entirely of carbon fiber. Only seven of these were available. In his previous life, there was no such thing as an Enzo Dubai Special Edition. However, because of the ripple effect caused by Mavi, Ferrari had specially designed this model to maintain its position in the industry and not lose to Lamborghini and Bugatti.

As soon as the car was unveiled, it attracted a lot of attention from millionaires. Unfortunately, all seven of the limited-edition cars had already been pre-ordered by Middle Eastern royals, so the motor show was just a formality. The price was $2.7 million per car.

As for Porsche, they had designed the "Porsche Carrera GT Luxury Special Edition." Building on the original Carrera GT, they added a twin-turbo engine, boosting the output to a whopping 1,000 HP! They also changed the doors to a gull-wing design and the roof to carbon fiber, with a top speed exceeding 402 km/h.

This car was limited to 12 units worldwide, and nearly all of them had also been pre-ordered and collected. Regular millionaires simply couldn't get their hands on these special, limited-edition cars. This model was slightly more expensive than the standard Carrera GT, with a price of $2.55 million, including the 4% import tax in the UAE.

Mavi followed the crowd to the main exhibition area. He saw the special edition cars from both Ferrari and Porsche and even ordered one of each for his collection. After all, the cars themselves were innocent, even if the companies were business rivals.

However, as a disguised Mavi stood in front of the Bugatti booth, ready to watch the show unfold, something happened that caused a stir in the crowd: the Crown Prince of Dubai arrived at the motor show.

He and a sizable entourage of bodyguards made a grand entrance, walking through the crowd to the main exhibition area.

"Hello, Your Highness!" Along the way, many wealthy Dubai residents greeted the prince with warmth and respect. Everyone knew that the Prince of Dubai loved sports cars and had a collection of expensive, limited-edition cars in his garage.

Even the sales staff at the various car booths were inwardly hoping the prince would visit their display. Given the prince's reputation for lavish spending, buying a car was like buying a child's toy—he wouldn't even blink.

But it was clear that the Prince of Dubai wasn't there for the cars he already owned. He was there for the Bugatti Veyron from the Mavi Group.

"Is that the Prince of Dubai? Is he also here to compete for the Bugatti Veyron?"

"I don't know, probably. But speaking of which, the Bugatti company under the Mavi Group is really something. They aren't taking pre-orders before the new car is even released, forcing us car enthusiasts to travel all the way to Dubai."

"Yeah, I wonder how they'll decide who gets it, what the price is, and what the car looks like or how it performs. They haven't revealed a single thing. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a huge letdown; otherwise, all this hype will have been for nothing."
