Chapter 177 - Chapter 177 — Are Fresh Rations Coming Again?

Chaos Abyss, Eighth Level.

Jiang Yan lifted his gaze.

Before him stood the golden unicorn ferocious beast—ten thousand meters tall, its massive body wreathed in rolling purple chaotic fog.

Streams of law-light flowed across its golden scales like molten veins. With every breath it took, the surrounding space shuddered violently, rippling as though reality itself were struggling to stay intact.

The beast lowered one hoof.

Boom.

The ground collapsed instantly, splitting open bottomless ravines. Violent force swept across the eighth level, further twisting the already chaotic time and space. The oppressive aura alone was enough to crush the minds of ordinary kings.

"Hahaha—!"

The golden unicorn's laughter thundered across the eighth floor. "How long has it been since fresh human rations came again?!"

The roar carried dense chaos laws. Soundwaves rolled outward like tidal waves, enough to shatter the will of a normal King-level powerhouse on contact.

Its eyes burned with hatred and madness.

For endless years, it had been suppressed within this abyss by human experts, reduced to a living trial for later generations. Hatred toward the human race had long been carved into its very bones.

Here, on the eighth level, it was the absolute overlord.

For countless eras, every so-called human genius who dared enter had ended the same way—devoured alive.

Human rations?

A cold glint flashed through Jiang Yan's eyes.

Instead of retreating, he stepped forward.

The pressure crashed down on him like a collapsing heaven, yet the space around his body remained calm, quietly dissolving the soundwaves. Not even the hem of his robes fluttered.

"A beast at the peak of the King's Throne," Jiang Yan said indifferently. "Somewhat interesting."

His calm tone stood in sharp contrast to the ferocious beast's thunderous rage.

The golden unicorn moved.

On the eighth level—where time and space were violently disordered—it ignored the turbulent laws entirely. Its enormous body transformed into a streak of golden light, carrying world-rending momentum as it charged straight toward Jiang Yan.

The antlers atop its head glowed.

Chaotic power condensed wildly, releasing a killing intent sharp enough to pierce even the defenses of ordinary invincible kings. This strike embodied the culmination of endless years of cultivation—its most refined law comprehension.

Jiang Yan did not evade.

The air around him surged.

"Time, still."

Four quiet words fell.

In an instant, within a radius of ten thousand miles, time stopped.

The purple chaotic fog froze mid-roll. The violent flows of law solidified into rigid patterns. Even the unstoppable golden streak halted abruptly, suspended less than a hundred meters before Jiang Yan.

The golden unicorn's pupils shrank violently.

Horror flooded its gaze.

Its body felt crucified in the void—unable to move, unable to think. Even the chaotic power roaring within it had ceased to circulate.

"Th-this…"

Fear crept into its voice for the first time. "This is the supreme secret of the Law of Time?!"

It had lived for endless ages, witnessing countless human geniuses reach the eighth level.

But never—never—had it seen someone freeze thousands of miles of time and space outright.

Even peak Kings could only slow time briefly at best.

Jiang Yan's figure flickered.

Like a ghost, he appeared before the golden unicorn's head and raised his fist.

Bang!

A dull impact echoed.

Scales comparable to top-tier treasures shattered like brittle glass. Scarlet blood sprayed into the void—only to freeze instantly, crystallizing into blood-red shards within stopped time.

The unicorn's colossal body flew backward like a broken kite, slamming into the ground and smashing the indestructible terrain into a massive crater. Dust and debris surged skyward.

Time resumed.

The purple fog flowed once more.

The golden unicorn struggled to rise, its eyes filled with resentment and unwillingness. It opened its blood-soaked mouth, trying to gather its final strength.

Jiang Yan gave it no chance.

With a flick of his finger, a thread of lightning descended from the void and struck precisely between its brows.

Ziziz!!

Perfect thunder and lightning law exploded within its body—violent, tyrannical, absolute.

Scales cracked. Bones shattered.

The golden unicorn convulsed violently, letting out a shrill, despairing wail before its form collapsed completely.

In the blink of an eye, the peak King-level ferocious beast transformed into an immense scarlet breath and surged toward Jiang Yan.

This scarlet breath was a hundred times richer than all the Immortal-level ones before combined—like a raging river of blood, radiating terrifying energy.

Jiang Yan did not resist.

The scarlet breath poured into his body.

Heat surged through his limbs. Crackling sounds echoed as muscles, bones, and cells transformed at a speed visible to the naked eye. His already Immortal-grade physique soared again.

His level of life was undergoing a clear transition.

"Good," Jiang Yan said softly, nodding. "King-level Scarlet Breath lives up to expectations."

He lifted his gaze deeper into the eighth level.

Within the churning purple fog, three even stronger auras stirred—each surpassing the golden unicorn.

They had been waiting.

Watching.

Hoping to reap the spoils.

"Since you're here," Jiang Yan said calmly, his voice piercing the fog, "come out."

The purple chaos erupted.

Roar!

A massive black crocodile emerged, its body stretching tens of thousands of miles. Thick carapace plates overlapped across its form, jagged bone spurs protruding outward. Its blood-red eyes burned like twin moons.

Its aura was even stronger than the golden unicorn's.

Behind it, two more figures appeared.

A silver-furred giant ape wielding a chaos crystal staff engraved with ancient runes.

And a three-legged golden crow, wings spread wide, wreathed in blazing chaotic fire capable of incinerating Immortals.

Three peak King-level ferocious beasts formed a triangular encirclement around Jiang Yan.

Their eyes gleamed with greed.

"Human," the black crocodile rumbled, voice grinding like stone. "You killed Jin Qi. Hand over your treasures, and I might grant you a swift death."

The silver ape roared, slamming its staff.

"Kneel and surrender! Otherwise, I'll grind you into ashes!"

The golden crow fanned its wings, chaos fire lighting the void.

"Your Law of Time is impressive—but absolute power crushes all tricks."

Their combined pressure surged forward, seeking to break Jiang Yan's will.

Jiang Yan raised his brows—and smiled.

"Three peak Kings," he said lightly. "Saves me the trouble of hunting you down."

His aura erupted.

A terrifying pressure—formed from two superior laws and eight inferior laws—swept outward like a tsunami. The eighth level shook violently.

The faces of all three beasts changed.

The black crocodile's pupils contracted in disbelief.

"How is this possible?! You're only a World Master—how can you possess such power?!"

Jiang Yan chuckled softly.

"Realm has never been the sole measure of strength."

He vanished.

The next instant, he appeared before the black crocodile.

"Space, strangulation."

Space twisted violently, forming a vortex that swallowed the crocodile's devouring beam whole. Countless space blades condensed and tore through its defenses.

Blood sprayed.

Before it could retreat, Jiang Yan's fist landed.

Bang!

The crocodile's head exploded.

One down.

The silver ape followed—its chaos staff shattered by thunder, its body severed by a space blade.

Two down.

The three-legged golden crow fled.

Jiang Yan caught it in a single step.

"Stay."

Space froze.

"Please—don't kill me! I'll submit!" the crow pleaded.

A space blade flashed.

Three down.

Three rivers of scarlet breath surged into Jiang Yan.

His transformation accelerated.

Physical power climbed to a level where even invincible kings would fall short.

At this moment, Jiang Yan was confident—he could charge straight through the twenty-first floor of the Tongtian Bridge.

"This eighth level," he murmured, opening his eyes, "is indeed a good place."

He turned toward the end of the eighth floor.

A black crack split heaven and earth.

Beyond it lay the ninth level—and the Chaos Green Lotus.

And its guardian.

"Chaos Ancestral Dragon…"

Jiang Yan smiled, battle intent blazing.

"I hope you're worthy."

He stepped forward.

The purple fog swallowed his figure.
