Dawn feels her life view being refreshed.
She never expected that Mr. Damian, who she thought had little interest in conquering the world, would actually be plotting something else.
After all, what Damian has shown so far seems to be about gaining control over the underworld.
Of course, that isn't a problem; Dawn thinks that's actually pretty good.
Back before Team Rocket arrived, Sinnoh Region's underworld was led by Team Galactic and a whole bunch of evil organizations, plus the deeply rooted hunter organization poisons.
But now?
Now there's only Team Rocket left!
And the other evil teams, as long as they dare to show up, Team Rocket will chase and crush them before they can sprout.
Dawn honestly thinks this is fine, and there's no need to worry about Team Rocket and the League finally taking an extreme direction.
But now it seems she underestimated Damian's plan.
Who would have thought that Damian, who'd always posed as if he and Giovanni were father and son in opposition, was actually acting from the start?
And now Giovanni is almost ready to challenge the Kanto Elite Four.
If Giovanni actually succeeds, he'll become the new Kanto Champion, which—
This is truly terrifying!!
The amount of information is overwhelming, enough to blow Dawn's mind, and she can't imagine it.
They lingered at Viridian Gym for a while longer, and Damian and Giovanni talked for a long time; after all, the two hadn't sat down and chatted like this for a very long time.
Until ten o'clock at night, Damian had Shadow Mewtwo use psychic to scan nearby, then he felt relieved and left.
Damian has always paid less attention to exposing his movements, but with Giovanni, hiding identity is essential.
Otherwise, the fun would be greatly reduced, and for Damian, this pleasure cannot appear surprised.
Back at the booked hotel, Damian took a shower and was about to go to bed when the bell suddenly rang.
Damian opened the door, puzzled about who would come at this hour—could it be Caitlin?
Surely not—Caitlin, a young lady, is too composed to sneak into his room at night.
Opening the door, Dawn stands at the threshold, her blue hair calm, dressed in casual wear, clutching the hem of her shirt and a bit shy.
"Dawn?"
Damian raises a brow, eyeing Dawn.
"Umm—Mr. Damian, you—"
Seeing Damian, Dawn's mind momentarily freezes, stammering as she looks at him.
Because he just finished a shower, Damian wears only a towel around his waist, his toned torso and abs visible, making Dawn dizzy with how good he looks.
This is amazing—Mr. Damian's figure is that good?!
Dawn swallows hard, a rare sight to see the opposite sex in such close proximity, making her head spin.
"Oh, I just finished a shower, what is it, Dawn? Do you need something with me?"
"Yes. Yes, there's something I want to talk to you about in person."
Dawn feels her throat dry, lowers her head and avoids looking at Damian.
Her face must be burning hot right now.
Mr. Damian is just too much! This is a handsome man tactic, isn't it?
"Actually you could talk on the phone."
"No way! This is something very important, I must speak to you in person."
Dawn suddenly snaps back to reality, mustering courage to speak seriously to Damian.
"Emmm… late night into a man's room might not look good."
"If you're so insistent, come in. I'll change first."
Damian tilts his head, stepping aside to let Dawn in.
"Sorry to bother you."
Dawn stands at the door in silence for several seconds, then slowly steps into the room.
Through his azure hair, Dawn's pale cheeks are clearly flushed.
Oh my gosh! What am I doing?
Sitting on a stool, Dawn's slender hands grip her skirt tightly, restlessness clear.
Thinking that Mr. Damian is in the bathroom changing, she can't settle her mind.
As House of Dawn's young lady, taught since childhood to show proper noble manners, to be ladylike and poised, she never imagined she'd appear in a boy's room at midnight.
What if Mr. Damian loses control and demands something? Should she call out?
But if she hadn't come to Mr. Damian's room at that time, nothing would happen.
So perhaps she's the one who invited Mr. Damian?
I've heard that if something happens, a baby might come soon? What would the baby be—boy or girl? It's too early to be a mother, isn't it?
Would Dad and Mother be happy if they knew I'm pregnant? It seems Dad has a rigid impression of Mr. Damian.
"Dawn?"
Dad is being ridiculous; he's told him many times that Mr. Damian isn't like that.
"Dawn?"
And she still prefers girls; if she had a daughter, what would she name her?
"Akari"—that name would suit a bright girl; if she has a daughter, she'll be like light, it fits well.
"What are you mumbling about, Dawn?"
"Mr. Damian, when did you get here?" Dawn finally regains her senses, her face turning bright red as she stares at Damian, who looks puzzled at her.
Oh no! Lord Arceus above!
How can I survive in this world?!
Dawn covers her cheek, shrinking like a turtle.
"I've called you many times, but you seemed lost in thought."
Damian realizes Dawn has a bit of an airhead trait; he hadn't noticed before.
"Sorry, I was just daydreaming by myself."
Seeing Damian didn't seem to catch her muttering, Dawn feels she still has a chance to survive.
"This is nothing, but what were you thinking? Your face is noticeably flushed—drink some water."
Damian sits on the bed, hands Dawn a glass of water.
"Thanks—"
Dawn speaks softly, taking a sip, but clearly she won't reveal what she was thinking.
How could she say it? So embarrassing.
"You brat, water and you drink it as if you're a thirsty beauty; who taught you, sneaking into a man's room in the middle of the night?"
Damian jokes.
"Huh?"
Dawn's eyes widen in disbelief, did she just imagine that?
"Relax, the water's fine. I'm a lecherous man, but I have a bottom line. Consider this a reminder: safety matters when you're away from home, got it?"
"I understand." Dawn lowers her head; her face burns again.
"Okay, now tell me, what did you want to talk about? Is it about my Dad tonight?"
Damian guesses the gist.
Dawn, gentle and pure, gathers courage to talk.
"Yes, Mr. Damian, are you planning to take action against the League later?"
Dawn's mind stabilizes, and she asks firmly.
"Dawn, you know how many of the eight official Gyms in the Kanto Region are mine now?"
Damian doesn't answer immediately; instead he crosses one leg over the other and smiles at Dawn.
Dawn is silent.
"Viridian Gym, Saffron Gym, Vermilion Gym, Fuchsia Gym, Celadon Gym—before I took charge, they were Team Rocket's Damian reaching out to Dawn."
"Wait—what?!" Dawn's eyes widen in shock.
"Of course, the Celadon Gym's Erika is now my woman."
"Pewter Gym and Cerulean Gym? As you saw today, the heirs are Misty and Brock; they're currently Team Rocket's temporary members."
"Of course, letting them remain in the organization and the League is fine; but that's not important."
"So in a sense, the eight official Gyms in Kanto are all Team Rocket."
Hiss!
Dawn gasps in shock; this is terrifying!
Eight official Gyms all run by Team Rocket; the strongest region Kanto being infiltrated so deeply is chilling to contemplate!
"Whether you believe it or not, Dawn, I personally still maintain a friendly attitude towards the League, and I've never even considered replacing it."
But then Damian shrugs, speaking frankly to Dawn.
Dawn tightens her lips, thinking.
"The League is the world's stability; I have no interest in chaos."
"Team Rocket's goals have always been growth and money, consolidating other evil teams, so the world won't breed more darkness."
"Some might say that helps us Team Rocket to manage the underworld, but isn't that demanding a lot?"
Damian snickers.
"If it weren't for Team Rocket, the Kanto underworld would be in chaos long ago, and the Alola, Hoenn, Unova, Sinnoh Regions—everywhere would be a mess when I brought Team Rocket in."
"League does maintain basic balance and stability, but they lack the power to deter evil teams; those teams and hunter organizations run rampant."
"But we're different; we can purge other evil teams, deal with the scum and poisons, and restore harmony to the underworld."
"I'll admit, Team Rocket previously was a poison in this world, but I'm not like my Dad; I have enough strength to keep my own goals from veering."
"Team Rocket and League aren't opposed; Team Rocket is just doing what the League isn't able or willing to do."
As Damian finishes, he looks at Dawn.
"Dawn, I believe in you."
Dawn bites her lip, speaking with resolve and admiration toward Damian.
"Is that so? Yet the League probably won't hand this power to us easily; if they intend to fight us in a big battle, would you still stand by my side?"
"Mr. Damian, will you hurt League personnel?"
"I'm not a killer, but some bumps and bruises in battle are inevitable; I'll do my best to keep their lives safe."
Damian understands Dawn's meaning.
"Then I'll stand by you! Team Rocket—"
Dawn's clear eyes show determination.
"Team Rocket is—indeed the right path!"
