Chapter 171: The Enlarged Ellis
"This place used to be...!" Aishi , Sister Shao, and the others stared in disbelief from the ship. They couldn't believe this was Luo Han 's homeland—the island where he had grown up.
What was once a lush, dark green seabed was now scattered with massive rocks and tree roots rising and falling with the tides. The exposed surfaces were covered in moss and algae. The location where Ring Tree Island used to be was completely gone, replaced by a calm sea. The once-clear freshwater lake was now filled with broken roots and shattered stones.
Luo Han hovered the ship in the air without descending. There was nowhere to dock, no land to sail through.
Aside from Luo Han and Ellis, this was everyone's first time seeing Ring Tree Island in its ruined state—even Cole. He hadn't returned since they had briefly stopped here before rushing off to Warship Island.
"The World Government…" Cole muttered, fists clenched so tightly that the veins bulged beneath his skin. His eyes burned with fury. The sight before him was unbearable. This place held precious memories of him and his parents—and now, there was nothing left but a quiet ocean.
Luo Han flew up and gently patted Cole on the shoulder. "We'll settle that score later. Right now, what matters is growing stronger, preparing for everyone's return. Twenty-nine years from now, we'll face the World Government again—and that battle will be far more terrifying than God Valley."
"…Got it, Han-ge," Cole replied, unclenching his fists, reining in his emotions, though a chilling glint still lingered deep in his eyes.
"Let's head down." Seeing Cole calm again, Luo Han turned to Ellis.
"Alright. I'll count on you, Luo Han !" Ellis replied, flying down from the ship as Luo Han followed. The two of them descended toward where the Divine Tree once stood.
Sigh. Ellis let out a breath. She hadn't thought much of it before, but now that she was back, seeing what used to be her body felt strange—like looking at a tree that no longer belonged to her.
"Is your energy sufficient?" Luo Han asked, glancing at her small figure.
Ellis smiled. "It's enough. I already gathered a lot back at Ark Island with the help of the plants there."
"Alright," Luo Han nodded, turning to the others on the ship. "You all wait here for us."
"Got it! Be careful down there—you're both Devil Fruit users. Don't let the seawater touch you!" Aishi reminded anxiously.
Only Sister Shao remained calm—she knew Luo Han 's powers allowed him to move freely in water.
Luo Han waved a hand, then used psychokinesis to encase himself and Ellis in an invisible barrier before diving into what used to be Ring Tree Island's freshwater lake.
The silent lake was filled with dark green algae, making visibility poor. Luckily, Luo Han 's spiritual sense could perceive everything clearly.
They descended steadily, Luo Han using his powers to push aside the debris of rocks and tree roots. The Five Elders had been ruthless—every part of the Divine Tree, even underwater, had been hacked apart.
It wasn't until they reached 500 meters deep that they finally saw the massive, severed trunk of the Divine Tree.
Luo Han guided Ellis to the trunk and then expanded a hundred-meter-wide spherical barrier, clearing away the surrounding water and creating a dry zone that encased them and part of the tree.
"Is this good, Ellis ?" Luo Han asked.
When alone, he still called her by that name—partly to remind her of their past. For everyday conversations, he used "Ellis," which was more convenient. Ellis had stopped caring what he called her—after all, she had family now.
"Yes! I'm starting now. It might get loud—watch out!" Ellis smiled playfully, shooting Luo Han a teasing look.
She floated to the tree, placed both hands on the bark, and began glowing with a soft green light. Countless small orbs of light rose from her and sank into the tree.
Through Luo Han 's spiritual sense, he could clearly see waves of green energy pouring from Ellis' hands and spreading through the tree like a power grid reconnecting. The dormant bark began to shine with life again.
"Whoa… what energy," Luo Han muttered, stunned.
As her consciousness reconnected with the tree, a vast energy surge began pulling in force from hundreds of kilometers around. That energy came from the far-reaching roots of the Divine Tree. Despite losing part of its trunk, the tree still possessed immense power.
Luo Han recalled Ellis' words from before: that once she reconnected with the tree, she'd regain immense energy—and be able to grow bigger and... well...
She really meant it, Luo Han thought as he watched her start to expand. The tiny ten-centimeter version of Ellis grew steadily—not like a balloon, but in perfect proportion. In moments, a four-meter-tall version of Ellis stood before him.
"Well? I told you I could change size however you liked, Luo Han -nii. You wanna see me bigger? Smaller? I can do both~!" Ellis laughed joyfully, zipping around like a mermaid.
Clearly, reuniting with the Divine Tree had made her ecstatic. The instant she unlocked her size-altering abilities, she enlarged herself and proudly showed off in front of Luo Han .
But as time passed and Luo Han remained frozen, Ellis stopped and hovered in front of him. He was just standing there, staring—face flushed, completely motionless.
He didn't even hear her speak. His spiritual awareness had gone blank. All he could think about was that stunning image replaying over and over in his head.
Perfectly proportioned long legs. Exquisite facial features. Her warm, gentle demeanor was now replaced by the poise of an elegant queen. In that towering four-meter form, she no longer looked like a "sister next door"—she was a true elven goddess. And she moved with grace, showing off her charm from every angle.
Faced with this... what man wouldn't be mesmerized?
Yeah. Luo Han was gone.
"…" Ellis.
