Mufasa spent a lot of time making friends with some giants. Although they looked terrifying, they were very innocent, much more so than ordinary people.
Mance Rayder brought the giants to Frostfang to use their power to dig graves.
This area is dotted with the tombs of the ancient first men.
Mufasa watched as they cleared away graves, taking out items from them—stone tools, bronze artifacts, bones, and tattered clothing.
But Mance Rayder couldn't find the horn he wanted. What he didn't know was that the horn he longed for was in Mufasa's possession, which he had left in Castle Black.
" Mance!" Mufasa walked up to him, looking at his slightly anxious face. She noticed that he seemed to have aged a lot since they met at King's Landing.
"Haven't you already dug up this many times before? The horn of winter is just a legend. Perhaps you are not the one chosen by fate," Mufasa said.
"And you, Mufasa, are you the chosen one?" Mance Rayder asked.
"Of course, the Horn of Winter that you can't have is in my hands," Mufasa said.
"Hahaha!"
He seemed to have heard a joke and burst into laughter.
" The horn of winter is in your hands? Show it to me if you dare! How dare you boast like that!"
Mufasa was somewhat helpless.
"Although I didn't carry it with me, it's really in my hands. I left it at The Wall. Let me go back, and I'll discuss with the King's Landing's wartime council how to settle all your savages."
"you!"
Mance Rayder looked into Mufasa's eyes and saw sincerity in them.
"You've really found the horn of winter? Why don't you blow it!"
" The horn of winter doesn't directly destroy The Wall, but rather summons giants from the earth. We can use this power to deal with the army of corpses," Mance said.
"No one knows whether something is true or false unless they've tried it. I won't use it unless absolutely necessary," Mufasa said.
"But now that I know the Horn of Winter is on The Wall, aren't you afraid I'll launch a full-scale attack on the Wall?" Mance Rayder asked.
"The White Walkers are very close to the Wall. If you wildlings want to attack the Wall, you must first attack the White Walkers. Your weapons and equipment are insufficient to fight them," Mufasa said.
As Mufasa said, the army of White Walkers is now caught between the wildlings and the Wall.
Outside the Wall, a few wights were already wandering around. They were scouts sent by the White Walkers to investigate the Wall's current defenses.
Nights Watch often spotted them while patrolling along the Great Wall, but thanks to their valyrian steel arrows, they were able to return safely without injury to report the situation.
In Castle Black, Nights Watch executives, Northern lords, and Seven Kingdoms allied forces leaders gathered to discuss their next strategic plans.
"The good news is that we are well prepared. We have plenty of manpower, food, and weapons, and we can fight a protracted war against the Army of the Dead."
"The bad news is that Melisandre has left. She seems to have urgent business, not only leaving The Wall but also the Westeros continent. She has gone back to Volantis."
Benjen Stark addressed the group of solemn-looking feudal lords and officers.
"She's gone, and we can't use her magic to see the enemy's location through the flames. That's bad for us!" Old Bear Mormont said.
"Why did she leave? Wasn't she loyal to Mufasa? Could something have happened to Mufasa?" Ser Kevan seemed to sense something was wrong.
" Lord Eddard, it seems she left after seeing you. Do you know anything about her?" Kevan asked Eddard Stark.
"I don't know, but Ser Mufasa will be alright! He'll be alright!"
Eddard Stark said.
The others noticed something was wrong with his expression and looked at him with concern.
" Lord Eddard, what's wrong?" asked Lord Roose of Dreadfort. Bolton stared at Eddard Stark with his dead fish eyes.
"It's alright, let's continue the meeting!" Eddard Stark took a deep breath to calm himself down.
Next, they plan to build a protective fence outside The Wall, which will stretch for tens of kilometers.
If the White Walkers really lead a large army to attack, they must first break through this defensive barrier.
This protective barrier will be built using trees, and once set on fire, it can greatly deplete the Army of the Dead's manpower.
"I just hope the flames won't be too big and melt the ice on the Great Wall," someone laughed.
"Impossible, the ice on the Great Wall won't melt! Unless it encounters a flame like the dragonflame," said a Nights Watch commander. He was from Castle Black and older than Old Bear Mormont.
At that moment, a group of people rushed into the conference hall. The leader was Lü Bu, who placed a weapon on the table.
This is a red sword, without a scabbard.
"This is the Rose Sword? Mufasa's sword! Something's happened to him!" Ser Kevan's face immediately turned panicked.
" We have searched the area where Lord Mufasa went missing. There are signs of widespread Army of the Dead activity there, so he is very likely dead."
"Now that Mufasa is dead, none of you are worthy of my loyalty, and I have no interest in helping you defend the Desolate Lands," Lü Bu said.
He turned and walked out of the conference room.
"Where are you going?" someone asked.
"Get out of this godforsaken place!" Lü Bu said, returning to his original position.
Not only did Lü Bu take away a thousand Flying Bear Army soldiers, but the thousand Unsullied soldiers also left The Wall, and their whereabouts are unknown.
This unexpected turn of events felt like a heavy stone was pressing on everyone's hearts.
An uneasy atmosphere began to spread across The Wall.
Deserters began to appear in the military camp, and Nights Watch members also ran away.
Under immense pressure, Eddard Stark engaged in an ambush with the Army of the Dead in the Haunted Forest. They eliminated at least several thousand ghouls, but also suffered nearly a thousand casualties.
The wights are not the Others; they are transformed from those killed by the Others, and some of them still wielded their own weapons, such as knives or swords, in life.
Some ghouls can even shoot arrows, allowing them to launch ranged attacks.
Through this ambush, they gained a better understanding of the Army of the Dead.
Valyrian steel weapons can kill White Walkers quickly and easily, but they are not so easy to deal with wights. Most of the corpses are just bones. Even if you cut a bone in half, the sword will not kill it immediately and it can continue to attack.
The protective netting in front of the Wall was completed; it was a trap awaiting the Army of the Dead, and also the most powerful weapon of the Seven Kingdoms' allied forces. This was because the netting was doused with wildfire at intervals.
