Chapter 7 - Psychological Disorders

Although Shea Thorne didn't understand why Ariana Thorne's love for Miles Crawford came about, she knew that Ariana Thorne might no longer be obsessively in love with Miles Crawford.

After experiencing it for herself, she realized her feelings for Miles Crawford were a mix of love and gratitude.

However, she did not love Miles Crawford; she knew this pathological feeling needed treatment, not indulgence.

As long as she was in control of this body, she wouldn't take a step closer to Miles Crawford.

So, the next day, taking advantage of the weekend, Shea Thorne went to Sinclair Private Hospital to register for a psychology clinic for herself.

Ariana Thorne only had control over matters concerning Miles Crawford; other actions she couldn't manage, so Shea Thorne visited the psychology clinic, and even communicated with the psychiatrist quite smoothly.

"Miss Thorne, my opinion is that your friend seems to develop an extremely obsessive liking, possibly due to some setbacks in her past experiences that altered her life's trajectory, causing emotional deviation. But from what you've described, it seems it cannot solely trigger this series of abnormal behaviors." After communicating with the psychiatrist, the doctor gave her this response.

However, Shea Thorne indeed truthfully recounted Ariana Thorne's experiences in her second life; she grew up like a normal girl, except for the pathological infatuation with Miles Crawford, everything was normal, enjoying dolls and teddy bears, especially shiny little things.

"Is it possible for her to suddenly become like this?" Shea Thorne asked, "As far as I know, she grew up normally, she was not harmed in any way."

She was very healthy initially, but then inexplicably took a two-year break from studies, afterwards becoming like this.

"Sometimes such psychology can form not solely due to sudden harm, but also due to environmental changes, mental influences, or long-term external disturbances, forming this mindset." The psychiatrist empathetically advised, "Miss Thorne, if you don't trust my professional judgment, then I recommend you try registering for a psychiatry department."

Shea Thorne didn't think Ariana Thorne had mental issues; on the contrary, Ariana Thorne was very normal.

Something must have happened that she didn't know about, changing her, making Miles Crawford her savior.

Suddenly, Shea Thorne thought of Ariana Thorne's parents, saying, "Her father was an archaeology professor, divorced her mother when she was very young, and took her brother away at the time; she hasn't seen her mother or brother these years, her father didn't care enough about her, often not at home. Could it be because of this issue?"

The psychiatrist wanted to say that extreme lack of maternal love doesn't cause such symptoms, but Shea Thorne mentioned it, then suggested to her, "Actually you can try contacting her mother, even if it doesn't help with the condition significantly, at least you can observe her condition, maybe there's new help."

Shea Thorne nodded, remembering the two funerals for Ariana Thorne: the first life had a brother but no father, the second life had a father but no brother, but neither had the mother present.

Is it possible that Ariana Thorne avoided the matters of the first life, making the two lives contrary to each other?

Thus many things were avoided in the second life, with issues arising from the unknowable first life?

But she only knew about the second life, everything from the first life is locked in Ariana Thorne's memory, refusing to let her see, she didn't know anything.

Maybe, she fought back too?

Just failed.

...

Ariana Thorne's brother and mother aren't mysterious, in the second life her parents divorced when Ariana Thorne was five.

Her mother is named Alice Lawson and is a cellist, coincidentally Shea Thorne's former rival, Alice Lawson was internationally renowned, her performances were elegant and appreciated by the European music world.

That car accident when Shea Thorne went to attend the cello ensemble, was the occasion replacing Alice Lawson, a grand event.

She prepared for that concert for a long time, intending to compete with Alice Lawson after for renowned orchestras worldwide.

Not that she bore hostility towards Alice Lawson, it's just that in her path to fame she had a bit of a gold-digger, white lotus flavor, always claiming she relied on skill for fame, not on men to climb up.

It made Shea Thorne, who had many boyfriends, unwittingly set as a comparison by Alice Lawson.

Always being maliciously speculated by the media, that she gained opportunities by sleeping with men.

She guaranteed with her character, though there were elements of this, they weren't substantial!

She was a craftsperson for a living, encountering capable men who offered her resources, wasn't she not supposed to refuse?

When meeting, Alice Lawson liked to act superior, as if Shea Thorne was her daughter, often saying her daughter was about the same age as Shea Thorne, and as a child loved listening to her play the cello.

If Shea Thorne hadn't personally experienced Alice Lawson's cold violence towards her two children, she might have really believed her lies.

Especially since Shea Thorne observed Ariana Thorne's second life and witnessed Alice Lawson's foul deeds firsthand.

Just judging by the two funerals where Alice Lawson didn't appear, Shea Thorne concluded she didn't like Ariana Thorne, hence finding her would probably be futile.

Should she find her brother? In her heart, Ariana Thorne vehemently opposed.

Only the current father could help her; unfortunately, she argued fiercely with her father when secretly changing her applications to attend F University for Miles Crawford, saying hurtful things to her father.

Apparently, this family path is impassable, it needs careful long-term planning.

Now in this world, Alice Lawson is still as famous, but the person Shea Thorne no longer exists; she followed the timeline, visited her former residence, school, even the adoptive family that raised her, none had the person Shea Thorne, her adoptive parents were raising another girl who switched to painting.

Shea Thorne completely vanished; now only a soul of Shea Thorne resides within Ariana Thorne.

No, it's that both souls reside in this one body.

Ariana Thorne typically doesn't respond, only involving matters related to Miles Crawford does she appear, altering Shea Thorne's actions and speech.

The more this occurred, the more Shea Thorne wanted to become a complete Ariana Thorne; otherwise, with her tendency to cling when seeing Miles Crawford, she'd sooner or later be dragged by Ariana Thorne into a simpering fool.

...

Previous life experience told Shea Thorne, Miles Crawford was a complete cold violator, in this life Ariana Thorne can't control her initiative to see Miles Crawford, that is to say, as long as Miles Crawford doesn't come looking for her, she can never see Miles Crawford.

She hoped Miles Crawford, like the previous life, only appeared eight times in ten years, with three being where Ariana Thorne actively sought him.

As such time dragged on, Ariana Thorne might let go of Miles Crawford.

...

However, heaven wouldn't oblige, after Shea Thorne and her roommates went shopping, she forgot about the cello matter.

Only after seeing the psychiatrist and accepting the resurrection did she go to her dormitory's first floor, to the dorm supervisor to retrieve her cello.

"Oh no, that young girl's boyfriend hasn't been by these past few days." The dorm supervisor saw Shea Thorne now cute as a doll, spoke more gently to her, "Why don't you give him a call? Maybe he forgot?"

Shea Thorne had no choice but to go back to the dorm and ask Rhonda, when Rhonda made a call, she found out Jonah Bell was called away by the lab halfway through, guessing Miles Crawford as her boyfriend, hence left the cello with Miles Crawford, today Miles Crawford was at National Medical University's lab.

Now the cello was with Miles Crawford, meaning Shea Thorne had to actively seek him; thinking this made her somewhat joyous with anticipation.

Shea Thorne absolutely didn't want to see Miles Crawford, but since the cello was rented, if not retrieved she couldn't return it later.

So, while it was still day, the fake sycophant, true bewailer—Shea Thorne, went to National Medical University to retrieve her cello.
