Chapter 598: Battle of Land Immortals!
"You're sick, and not just a little," Shen Anyu said with a twitch of his mouth, giving his assessment.
Susan, Bai Bing, and Wu Shenyun—these three women were all undeniably obsessive, but each expressed her madness in a profoundly different way.
Susan's love for Shen Anyu was an all-consuming fire. She would never dream of harming a single hair on his head, but her mercy ended abruptly with any other woman who dared to stand by his side. For them, there was only the cold, ruthless finality of death. In her daily life, she was a vision of purity and shyness, a gentle soul whose ferocity only awakened when Shen Anyu was threatened, when he ignored her, or when he shared his attention with another.
Bai Bing, too, had fallen for Shen Anyu, but her obsession took a different, more possessive form. She had no desire to harm his other women; her singular focus was on him. She dreamt of imprisoning him, keeping him as her private, cherished pet. She would call him her male slave, a term of perverse endearment, yet in her heart, she would still revere him as her man, a treasure to be locked away from the world.
Wu Shenyun, however, was a creature forged from strength and dominance. At this moment, she felt no love for Shen Anyu. Her heart was a storm of ambition, a burning, overwhelming desire to win, to conquer, to break him. She needed to see Shen Anyu, the man who had humiliated her in the world of dreams, submit completely. She had to win. She had to have her revenge!
But a cruel irony was woven into her fate. Her very Soul had taken on Shen Anyu's form, a permanent brand that bound her to him, making escape impossible. The half-month spent trapped within the Love Dream Illusion was not a series of a dozen fleeting encounters. It was a relentless cycle of thousands upon thousands of lifetimes, an infinite loop of intimacy and emotion that had been hammered into the very core of her being. The sickness of that forced connection had seeped into her bones, twisting her pride into this warped, confrontational obsession.
That was the root of her twisted behavior. She demanded Shen Anyu's submission, and with equal fervor, Shen Anyu demanded hers. She saw herself as an empress, a ruler of all. But Shen Anyu was no one's male concubine.
A ghost of a smile played on Shen Anyu's lips as he watched Wu Shenyun, whose flawless, jade-like face was now flushed with a feverish, unhealthy crimson. The pressure in the air was thick enough to taste. He sneered, his voice cutting through the tension.
"The winner takes all, the loser eats dust. The one who loses today becomes a slave, bound to the winner for life. You will serve tea, pour water, wash feet, and you will be unable to refuse a single request, no matter what it is. So, tell me, Wu Shenyun… do you dare to gamble?"
"Why wouldn't I dare? This is exactly what I want!" Wu Shenyun's voice was a blade of ice. She took a single, deliberate step forward.
BOOM!
The ground itself seemed to detonate. A deafening thunderclap erupted from beneath their feet, a violent shockwave that shook the heavens and the earth. The very air distorted, and a terrifying pressure slammed down on everyone present.
Wu Shenyun raised a delicate, jade-white hand. With a simple, almost casual wave, a gale of impossible force exploded from her. The serene, shimmering surface of the lake instantly erupted into chaos. The water churned and boiled, transforming into a terrifying maelstrom. In the blink of an eye, colossal pillars of water ripped themselves free from the lakebed, surging skyward.
Water dragons, each over a hundred meters tall, twisted into existence, their forms so immense they seemed to connect the earth to the heavens. They spun with dizzying speed, their liquid bodies grinding violently against the atmosphere, generating a deafening shriek of wind and thunder. The sound was not merely heard; it was felt—a deep, visceral roar like that of ancient, mythical beasts, a sonic assault that rattled bones and shook the soul.
Every single person who witnessed this cataclysmic display was frozen in utter, mind-numbing shock.
"This… This is the might of the Venerable One! This is the power of a Land Immortal!" Wu He and the other experts from the Shaman God Cult felt their blood run cold with a mixture of terror and ecstatic reverence. They fell to their knees as one, prostrating themselves on the trembling ground, their faces filled with the fervent worship one would offer a living god.
'Land Immortal!' Bai Bing's hands clenched into tight fists, her knuckles white. She gritted her teeth so hard a metallic tang filled her mouth. Her beautiful eyes, filled with a storm of anxiety, darted to Shen Anyu. 'Can he… Can he possibly contend with this kind of power?'
A Land Immortal was a being who had fundamentally transcended the mortal coil, an immortal walking amongst men. Even on the true Immortal Path, their power was comparable to a cultivator in the early Foundation Establishment stage. They were extraordinary beings, capable of stirring celestial phenomena and commanding the forces of nature with a mere thought.
The vast, crushing might radiated outwards, a pressure wave akin to a dragon's divine prestige. It washed over the landscape for more than ten li in every direction, forcing even the most ferocious beasts hidden in the surrounding mountains to collapse onto the ground, whimpering and trembling in primal fear.
"So uncomfortable… what… what is happening?"
Throughout the luxurious Jinxiu Mountain Villa residential area, residents stumbled out of their opulent homes, their faces pale and etched with confusion. They looked towards the lake, and their jaws fell slack. The sight of multiple hundred-meter-tall waterspouts churning under a clear sky was so surreal, so utterly impossible, that it shattered their understanding of reality.
"Waterspouts? But this isn't a typhoon zone! Am I hallucinating?" Countless people felt their worldviews cracking under the strain. How could waterspouts of that magnitude manifest in the middle of Hangzhou? It defied all science, all logic.
While Hangzhou was occasionally brushed by the outer bands of typhoons, a spectacle of this scale was unheard of. Witnesses, a mix of shocked and morbidly excited, fumbled for their phones. They began recording, with some even starting live-streams, desperate to capture the unbelievable scene unfolding before them.
"Could it be… some ancient demon sealed at the bottom of the lake has finally broken free?" a young man with a wild imagination whispered, his eyes gleaming with a feverish light.
"It must be Lady White! This is Hangzhou, it has to be Bai Suzhen!" another exclaimed, referencing the famous legend.
"This isn't West Lake. Why would Bai Suzhen be here?" someone countered sceptically.
"Maybe Fahai sealed her in this lake instead!"
The theories grew wilder as more people gathered, their shock giving way to a strange, almost manic excitement. Some of the more daring individuals, dreaming of overnight internet fame and millions of likes on Douyin, began to advance toward the lake, their phones held high.
They didn't get far. A line of men in black suits materialized as if from the shadows, forming an impassable barrier. Their faces were grim, their postures rigid.
"Why are you stopping us?" a group of bolder youths demanded, indignant at having their path blocked.
The men in black didn't even deign to reply. They simply stood there, exuding a fierce, intimidating aura. A single cold, dismissive glance was enough to quell the crowd's bravado. No one dared to try and force their way through. One particularly persistent individual who tried to slip past was effortlessly lifted and carried away like an eagle snatching a chick.
"I'm a resident of the Jinxiu Mountain Villa. I want to go home. You have no right to stop me," Zhao Tao announced, stepping forward bravely. The scene had ignited a fire in his soul. Was this a battle between immortals? Or perhaps some great, world-changing Opportunity was emerging?
The men in black ignored Zhao Tao completely, their gazes fixed on the horizon.
Their blatant disrespect infuriated him. "My dad is Zhao Chenguang!" he threatened, his voice rising. "He's one of Hangzhou's top ten richest men, the chairman of the Chenguang Group! His connections in this city are immense. If you people arbitrarily blockade this area, believe it or not, I can have the police here to arrest every last one of you!"
The men remained silent statues, unmoved. They were members of Yanxia's Shen Clan. Why would they give a damn about some local Hangzhou tycoon?
Zhao Tao stomped his foot in frustration. He turned away, pulling out his phone and making a series of frantic calls to his father's most powerful contacts, men who would normally trip over themselves to do him a favor. But the replies he received sent a sliver of ice through his heart.
There were no replies. Not a single word. Not from anyone. Even a man his father had just visited a few days ago, who had treated him like a favored nephew, left his call unanswered.
The utter silence was the most terrifying response of all. It was a reply that screamed one simple, chilling message: the people involved were so powerful they could not, under any circumstances, be provoked.
A cold horror gripped Zhao Tao's heart.

Not far away, Zhang Yaqian was also part of the stunned crowd. Her intelligent, star-like eyes blinked in disbelief as she stared at the hundred-meter-high columns of raging water. Her cherry-red lips were slightly parted in shock. Suddenly, an incredible, electrifying thought flashed through her mind: 'Is Master Shen there?'
...
"Shen Anyu, this is the power of Wu Shenyun!"
Wu Shenyun's voice boomed, imbued with the very power she commanded. She lifted her fair chin, her sharp phoenix eyes looking down on him from her position of absolute dominance.
Beside her, the colossal water dragons connecting heaven and earth spun and pulsed, alive with the violent crackle of wind and thunder. The ground trembled, and rocks were ripped from the earth, whistling through the air like shrapnel. The entire lake, spanning more than ten li, had become a raging sea, its waves crashing with terrifying force, all under the command of a single Land Immortal.
"Kneel and submit," she declared, her voice echoing over the storm, "or shall I beat you until you do?"
At that moment, Wu Shenyun was a goddess of destruction, her power absolute, her presence divine.
Wu He and the other Shaman God Cult experts were already prostrate on the ground, their foreheads pressed into the dirt, their entire beings overwhelmed by fervent awe and reverence.
"Stinky master, if you kneel and submit, I will look down on you for the rest of my life!" Bai Bing's voice cut through the gale. She stood her ground, enduring the crushing pressure of the Land Immortal's might, her red lips bitten raw. A dangerous, defiant glint shone in her phoenix eyes. Though she spoke to Shen Anyu, her gaze was locked on Wu Shenyun, a predator ready to spring. If Wu Shenyun made a single move to truly harm him, she would charge forward without hesitation. She had already prepared herself for the worst.
And Shen Anyu, the sole target of Wu Shenyun's world-bending power, the man standing at the epicenter of the storm, threw his head back and laughed. It was a loud, clear, and utterly defiant sound that seemed to mock the very heavens.
"Kneel and submit? Wu Shenyun, the only one kneeling today will be you!"
"Then I'll beat you until you kneel and submit!" Wu Shenyun said coldly, suddenly waving her jade hand!
Boom! Boom! Boom!
In an instant, the water spouts connecting heaven and earth surged towards Shen Anyu, violently rubbing and flashing with the light of wind and thunder. Even armored vehicles made of alloy steel would instantly turn into scrap metal if caught within them.
Heaven's might was nothing more than this
